1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money– That The Poor And Middle Class Do Not! [Book]
Product Details:
Robert kiyosaki reveals how he developed his unique economic perspective from his two fathers: his real father, who was highly educated but fiscally poor; and the father of his best friend – an eighth-grade drop-out who became a self-made multi-millionaire. the lifelong monetary problems experienced by his poor dad pounded home the counterpoint communicated by his rich dad. taking that message to heart, kiyosaki was able to retire at the age of 47. this book lays out his philosophy and aims to open readers eyes by: exploding the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich; challenging the belief that your house is an asset; showing parents why they can't rely on schools to teach their children about money; defining once and for all an asset versus a liability; and explaining what to teach your children about money for their future financial success.
Reviews:
Robert Kyosaki- Rich Dad Poor Dad is the book that has caused me to 'Think Big'. His formula for success has been tried and proven.Do not believe for one minute after reading this book that education (ie going to school, getting a university degree) is not important. However, look at a number of the rich and famous. Were they always the brightest in school? NO!!!!!! But they had TALENT and a natural knack to succeed. Quite frankly, it is so hard to get a job these days. Many of our young people are coming out of the colleges and universities to sit and do nothing. There are only a few who would think outside the box and try something different. The ones who tend to be different, who are SMART risk takers, who rises every time they fall, who learns from their mistakes and the mistakes of others- tend to succeed. The book is so easy to read. The illustrations that the author use is clear. The text is so easy on the eyes and the language comprehend able so even the average man can understand, be motivated and to be different from the crowd.jm_miche
MOST AMAZING SELF – HELP BOOK I READ SO FAR (Finance related). I have read many books till now but no one can compete Rich Dad and Poor Dad so far. One word to describe it- EYE OPENER A Must read book for everyone. I would definitely recommend to read it once, it's definitely gonna blow your mind.d.d
Phenomenal writing. Maybe the best financial advice offered in a century. Kiyosaki is articulate as he weaves his tale of life experience from mediocre living to great wealth. I know from experience his information is true, because I was taught this when I was young. Rich Dad, Poor Dad should be required reading for all teenagers and adults alike who do not understand how to read the financial pages in the newspaper. He breaks the complexities of economists and bankers down into bite sized pieces for the layman.ashley.r

4. The Vanishing American Adult: Our Coming-Of-Age Crisis–And How To Rebuild A Culture Of Self-Reliance [Book]

Product Details:
Senator ben sasse's instant new york times bestseller on how to raise resilient, responsible children. – the instant new york times bestsellerin an era of safe spaces, trigger warnings, and an unprecedented election, the country's youth are in crisis. senator ben sasse warns the nation about the existential threat to america's future. – raised by well-meaning but overprotective parents and coddled by well-meaning but misbegotten government programs, america's youth are ill-equipped to survive in our highly-competitive global economy. many of the coming-of-age rituals that have defined the american experience since the founding: learning the value of working with your hands, leaving home to start a family, becoming economically self-reliant—are being delayed or skipped altogether. the statistics are daunting: 30% of college students drop out after the first year, and only 4 in 10 graduate. one in three 18-to-34 year-olds live with their parents. from these disparate phenomena: nebraska senator ben sasse who as president of a midwestern college observed the trials of this generation up close, sees an existential threat to the american way of life. – in the vanishing american adult, sasse diagnoses the causes of a generation that can't grow up and offers a path for raising children to become active and engaged citizens. he identifies core formative experiences that all young people should pursue: hard work to appreciate the benefits of labor, travel to understand deprivation and want, the power of reading, the importance of nurturing your body—and explains how parents can encourage them. – our democracy depends on responsible, contributing adults to function properly—without them america falls prey to populist demagogues.

I've read it about 4 times now! Each time I enjoy doing so, a good way to really critique your viewpoint of money and your attitude towards it. Each of which in turn influences your use of it. I'd definitely recommend!Lee

I have seen the movie a few times in my youth, so finally, I just had to read the book. I did not regret it.Andy
I love the movie, despite its 4 hour long duration, but it is not as good as the book. It begins with the three wisemen meeting in the desert. They cannot speak each other's languages but speak the language of the Spirit. The book is drastically different from the movie. There is also a great deal more delving into the struggle that many Jews had in reconciling Jesus to the Law of Moses. Definitely worth the read – especially if you like history. Wallace does an adequate job of setting the scene and portraying what it might have been like.archeanti
A revenge story. An unfortunate prince ends up becoming a slave. That politics thing, you know. I think that JC guy may even make an appearance. (the other one, not Jerry Cornelius). Plenty of action in this story, including the famous chariot race, as the former Jewish prince and slave ends up changing religions.

8. Hypercapitalism: The Modern Economy, Its Values, And How To Change Them [Book]
Product Details:
"from the bestselling cartoonist of the cartoon history of the universe comes an explosive graphic takedown of capitalism. bestselling "overeducated cartoonist" larry gonick has delighted readers for years with sharp, digestible, and hilarious accounts of everything from the history of the universe to the story of calculus. hypercapitalism is an accessible and pointed cartoon guide to the threats to humans, our society, and the environment posed by the current form of global capitalism. in pointed, profound, and entertaining cartoon narratives, the authors take readers inside the inner workings of the global economy, rendering even the most complex ideas in clear, plain–and sometimes hilarious–terms"–
Reviews:
In graphic novel form, this book attempts nothing less than an accessible explanation of capitalism. It also shows how present-day worship of markets harms a person's well-being and the planet's health. The five commandments of hypercapitalism are: Thou Shalt Consume, Thou Shalt Operate Globally, Thou Shalt Not Regulate, Thou Shalt Spend Less on Labor and Thou Shalt Privatize. How can the average person afford all this consumption when wages have generally stagnated over the past couple of decades? The answer is: credit cards, the overall debt of which is about $700 billion. That does not include student loan debt, which is another trillion dollars. Are obsessed consumers really happier than the average person, or do they get a momentary "high" from their purchase? Is there anything the average person can do about it? Before buying, here are some questions to ask yourself. Can I afford it? Do I need it, or do I want it? Will it improve my life? What company makes it? There are tool banks and seed banks and time banks, where such items can be shared. If your town or neighborhood does not have one, consider starting it. Get to know your local library. It is possible for a business, like an employee-owned business or a non-profit, to be more socially responsible than average. For some people, more direct methods are the way to go. These include boycott/buycott, advocating for a better deal for workers and publicly funded political campaigns or taking to the streets and protesting. This book deserves six stars. It is very easy to read, and does a wonderful job at explaining capitalism, even for those who "hate" capitalism. It also gives a number of alternatives that anyone can adopt. This is extremely highly recommended.plappen
I love books by Larry Gronick. I've read all of his History of the World series as well as some of the science ones too. They are an accessible way for laypersons to get an overview of seemingly difficult subjects such as history, biology, and now with this one – economics. Always well researched, with the extensive bibliography listed in the back for those who want to go deeper.Marie

Product Details:
Now a new york times bestseller! bestselling author and conservative icon dr. ben carson lays out a hopeful and inspiring road map for how america can come together. external physical characteristics that are genetically encoded are things over which no individual has control. but rather than appreciating the gift of diversity, some have chosen to use it to drive wedges between groups of people. some of these external characteristics are associated with the past moral failing of slavery. carson uses his own personal experiences as a member of a racial minority, along with the writings and experiences of others from multiple backgrounds and demographics, to analyze the current state of race relations in america. instead of using race as an excuse to remake america into something completely antithetical to the constitution, dr. carson suggests ways to enhance and bring great success to our nation and all multiethnic societies by magnifying america's incredible strengths instead of her historical weaknesses.
Reviews:
This is a comprehensive and realistic look at racial issues. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Carson. In his book, he gives a view of what it was like to be black before the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. A quote from the book…" Cancel Culture and Jim Crow racism have much in common. The aim of both is to disenfranchise and control the targeted group." His thoughts on reparation are valid. How do you do this fairly? Affirmative action, however, was necessary to create equality in the 60s and '70s. I highly recommend this book.Shari
I like this book. Dr. Ben Carson speaks honestly about racism, the history of slavery and the what is happening today. I love this quote:"Cancel culture and Jim Crow racism have much in common. The aim of both is to disenfranchise and control the targeted group." I think this is a balanced book about the issues we are having today. I respect Dr. Carson's obvious intelligence and his attitude of respect for all. This is a good readSharon
His vision can united our country.Patriot of Unity

It's been a while. But I did read this book and it's pretty good. For every chapter they do offer you some sayings or quotes. I believe it does have some religion bases on this book. I would recommend this book, I believe you can get this at Target or you can just order this book on Amazon.patty.c
I love reading books like this. It’s a wonderful way to calm yourself after such a long day. My life was so chaotic and all over the place. I feel now it’s a whole lot more simple. There’s so much good ideas/advice in this book. Totally recommend thisclaudia.v
Shauna's books are unlike any other faith based books I've read before. Breaking down the common barriers of religion and doctrine and getting to the true purpose of faith, which is Jesus and his unending grace for you and me. If I had to compare Shauna's writings to another I would say Brene Brown is closest, while Shauna's words offer even more hope and healing. I never want to put Shauna's books down, especially not Present Over Perfect.AbiRay

Wow! Honestly If you're thinking of buying this book stop and just buy it. This book has honestly changed my life. I suffer from OCD and other mental illnesses. I could relate to this book on so many levels . Type of book i will push my family and friends to read.BossLadyXtina
After getting back into reading after some time, this was the perfect start. It was so well written and an relatively easy read, didn't want to put it down! it perfectly captured the feelings of OCD that are not always discussed. Definitely recommend! one of those books i wish i could erase and read again!!Ally
Such a good book , I really loved This one . Although it is said to be about a girl with ocd it's a lot more than that , and although it is incorporated and talked about throughout the whole story it is not in depth enough about the actual disorder which I enjoyed because the story it's self is incredible , however it is still very mental health surrounded . I loved this book very much and it does indeed have a plot twist which I found so very intriguing . I loved it ! .Hay

Read this book in one sitting .Absolute compelling documentation and comment on libs. Really gets right to the nitty griddy of a philosophy that can not be explained or comprehended by normal intellectual common sense. Well footnoted and broken down in a straight forward manner that even a small child would be able to comprehend. Before anyone casts their ballot I strongly recommend, in fact I beg them, to read this book and then go and make the right choice at the voting poles.
