I got this as replacement under warranty terms from Yeti after my older narrow model (64Oz) purchased from REI failed in less than two years. While the older one worked fine until the day it stopped working, this new design is a different story. I use it primarily to drink warm water throughout the day everyday while at home. It has never been used outdoors. As many others have said, I have the same problem with leaking and difficulty in opening. My wife is unable to open it, and I have to use the handle as a lever and hold the jug between by arm and ribs to get it to open. Now this has become twice a day ritual. I am not sure why Yeti changed the design from the older narrow mouth to a really wide mouth. It creates a larger area for gasket to fail and more force is needed to get it closed tightly or open it. If the idea was get your hand inside the jug, then you would not need it to be that wide.Rana

First off we are fans of your products. You do great work. We have your mugs and huge cooler which is fantastic, but you have a dud. We often have family and friends who stay over and come down for breakfast. To show that we take this topic seriously we live in TN but fly our coffee in from Maryland. Historically we have to make pot after pot of coffee for family and friends at breakfast. We saw your gallon jug and we were jazzed because we saw a way we could make coffee for everyone. Good news our filter cone fits exactly on the gallon jug. The bad news is that even if I put boiling water in the Yeti before I filter coffee in—in a short while it is tepid. Pretty happy all in all. It's fairly weighty, but that's to be expected from such a heavy-duty product. It keeps drinks cold (or hot) for ages. I love the handle and the double-walled insulated lid. After the first dishwasher wash, the rubber washer at the handle connection started to come out of place. I can't get it back in place, and I assume after a bit more use it'll pop out completely. Of course, it doesn't affect how well the drink bottle keeps drinks cold, but I was still disappointed after spending so much on a water bottle. I wrote to Yeti, and they replied saying that the fault 'will not effect the use of your jug and unfortunately there is not a fix for something like this.' I know this seems petty, but I suppose I expected more from Yeti.James

I have been a loyal S’well customer for years, unfortunately I was dousing myself with water each time I took a quick drink during my work out. I researched and found HydroJug and I loved the way the bottle look but was disappointed when I saw they only made straws for the plastic bottles. I kept reading and watching videos about the stainless jug on tiktok when someone revealed that there was a built in straw technology and showed how you didn’t have to tilt, just sip. I was immediately excited and ordered my bottle the same night. Since having my HydroJug I find it super easy to reach my hydration goals. I drink at least a gallon every day. I'm usually not a fan of stainless steel cups/tumblers so I went back and forth whether to buy this one and i'm soooo glad I did!! Its amazing! I'm an ice eater, so a jug that keeps makes my ice last hours out in the sun is definitely a WIIINNN for me!!! Now don't get me wrong I love my regular hydrojugs but sadly they just don't do the job for me. I fill my jugs up to the top with bullet shaped ice cubes and even with the sleeve my ice will be melted completely within 3 hours. I also am loving how there isn't a bunch of condensation on the outside of the jug compared to regular jug. I was considering buying one but resisted due to cost. Until I had a day where I couldn’t get water due to an over scheduled work day on the road. I work a lot from my car, where it can be difficult on some days to refill a normal sized water bottle. This has made my work days go so much smoother. You draw up the liquid easily from the curved side. I have always had trouble drinking enough water. Since I have a desk job, I thought this would be worth a try to upping my daily intake while at work. I bought the half gallon size and was thilled to see I had downed more than half of it the first day I used it (Friday)! I brought it home for the weekend and have also found myself reaching for it all day while I'm at home. Looking forward to continuing to increase my intake to get at least one whole fill down each day. Love the colors, and find the top handle super convenient for carrying. The side handle makes it easy and comfortable to pick up for drinking. The straw cane with a small notch cut into one end, which I figure is possibly a design improvement from some of the past reviews. I had zero issues drinking with it. I have both this version and the wide mouth version.I love the functionality and the fact that I can carry things in it, makes life a little bit easier when out and about.The bottle of this version is a hard plastic so I can see how it would break when you drop it. I fill my bottle up half way and freeze my water every night, then add water the next day. However, as of yet, I have had no issues with the plastic shattering.The only issue I have, and this is the same with the wide mouth bottle is the strap. It is a smooth slippery type fabric and IT WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE. You can adjust it all you want, as soon as you pick the bottle up, it slips right back half way or all the way. I wanted a bottle I can carry around easily. Working nights, I go to the gym before work and that means carrying a gym bag, work bag with my scrubs and my lunch box. I was using a large cup before and it was about 52oz with none of the extra things this has such as the strap, bottle sleeve and extra pockets. The shoulder strap makes this easy to throw over my shoulder, the pocket for the phone is large enough for my phone (Pixel 6) and the keychain for my car keys makes going to the gym easier on my weekends when I pack lighter. I use the straw and it makes sipping easier, though I wish it was just a little longer because sometimes it can get pushed down and not come back up, I just have to fish it back up but it's not something that makes me dislike this bottle, the rubber clear straw makes it easy to make sure I clean it really well when I use flavor enhancers in my water. My old(10 yrs old) 1 gallon water thermos started leaking if it fell on it side. After leaking inside my truck several times, decided its was time to replace it. This new jug was suppose to be leakproof, but after partially filling and being sure top was screwed on tight, it leaked like it had a hole in it. Rather use my old one. I was given this bottle(64oz graphite) in hopes of being able to stay hydrated and have cold water with me all the time. This bottle was absolutely AMAZING! I was never much of a water drinker but once I got this bottle, filled it about half full of ice, dropped a lemonade flavoring packet in it, I was hooked. The bottle went EVERYWHERE with me, my kid decorated the outside with a few stickers, and I felt almost a sentimental connection to it. Never sweat, ice stayed as ice for a LONG time, and it never leaked or let me down. Sadly, someone apparently loved it more than I did and they stole it from me while at the drag races with my kids this last weekend. I'm hoping to be buying another one soon.Michael F.
This cup is incredibly cute and the perfect size. The body of the simple modern water bottles insulates well and has a solid build that feels good in the hand. The coating seems very sturdy and left in a hot car in the Texas summer I often can come back to ice after a few hours. The drawback to this is that it takes the ice a long time to melt. That is where the good ends. I use this primarily for water because when I first got it any cold/hot beverages would explode from the top when the sipping arm was raised. This baffled me so at some point I just kept the arm raised between sips to avoid the explosion when I could. Fast forward a few months and no more explosive water but the lid now leaks like crazy. I discovered an x shaped space in the sipping arm groove that is the culprit. It seems the alternating problems of exploding and leaking probably revolve around some now missing piece of the lid that’s function was to release built up pressure from the interior of the bottle. Wish the company would work on this issue. Avoid this and spend the extra bucks for a Zojuroshi or equivalent cup maker for a better experience.Simple modern
I have 5 year old 32oz Summit bottle from Simple Modern that I love but is scratched and dented. It works great: so I wanted an upgrade so I bought another one for a golf trip and it felt different and much lighter. So I did a test on my own: filled them both up with same amount and ice and water and put then on the floor next to my bed overnight while I slept. Temperature was 69 and pleasant in the house. The new bottle water was completely melted and my 5 year old bottle was still full of ice and water and cold as the night before. I was really disappointed in the new one since I was so excited only to find out it is obviously made with lesser quality material and poor performance as a result. I have dehydrated in the past and rushed to the local hospital so having a drinking container with me at all times is imperative. I love ice cold water and I drink about 6-10 of the 32 oz containers per day. This marble colored 320z Summit container is very poor quality. My kids try to talk me in to a Yeti or HydroFlask, but I said I love my current bottle, however I may need to switch companies now.Bob M.

Just as the title of my review says this really is a great to have. They have underpromised and over delivered on this gallon jug. I’ve owned it now since mid July 2020. I waited to write a view so that I could use the jug for a while. Hard to write a review only having an item for a few days. All I can say is it is not only exactly as advertised but a little more. They say it keeps ice for 24 hours… yes it does but I’ve had ice in mine without replacing 48 hours. I work in a warehouse environment that has no climate control. During the summer months when it 90 degrees out side it’s easily just over 100 degrees inside with all the machines running and my job is physically demanding. So hydration is very important. This jug gives me ice cold refreshing water all day long at work and after work I bring it with me to the gym. Tip: Filling a one gallon jug with ice is A LOT of ice. I made friends with a local convenience store owner and made arrangements with him to allow me to fill my jug with ice for a dollar each time. If you did that everyday that would be $30/month but you can do it every other day and you’ll still have ice cold water and spend $15/ month on ice.Daniel S.
This is a great size for a full day in the field or on the water. Although I normally use my 36oz bottle when on the tractor or in my kayak, the half gallon is a better fit when on a boat or working off my RTV all day. The bottle is rugged and keeps my drinks cold all day even in the hot Texas sun. The screw-in style drinking lid is a real plus and has proven to be very durable and leak proof no matter how much I knock it around. When used in combination with my other smaller bottles or tumblers, it serves as a great reservoir for refills. Overall I would rate this 5 stars for durability, quality and value. One word of caution, be mindful of the color you choose as the darker skins will absorb more heat and lower the performance if left in the summer sun for extended periods.John B.
I worked in a corrections facility in South East Louisiana. I got a 1/2 gallon jug in Orange which is no longer available. When the offenders were out on yard water for the staff was non existent. I purchased this one and was amazed. I would just put a little ice in it and it would keep the water cold with out issue. It’s a great product and you can spend more but the question is WHY? My son has loved this bottle. I just saw a review on this bottle where it broke off the clips and smashed into the ground while it was full. Well today, the same thing happened to my son. He came home and was so bummed throwing this broken bottle into the trash. The lanyard clips pulled out of the bottle clips and crashed into the ground. I guess if you never use the lanyard, you don't have to worry. The clips shouldn't have a second part that can disconnect from the lanyard but it does so beware!KMS
