1. How To Be Cool In The Third Grade [Book]
Product Details:
It's not easy to seem cool when the whole class knows you wear superhero underwear and your mom still kisses you goodbye at the bus stop. but robbie york has a plan. 1) get rid of the name robbie. 2) get jeans. 3)avoid bullies like bo haney. if only it were that simple!
Reviews:
my son love that book.ope76
It was a fun read and turned out to be a lot of positivity for my grandson's assignment.cdeb7176
As a school librarian, I bought this book to read to the third grade. Some people have been very critical of it, saying kids should not feel pressure to be "cool". While children should always feel accepted and loved, they still might find this story amusing and be able to relate when Robbie is embarrassed by a mother who buys him a pretty pony ruler and kisses him at the bus stop. I personally heard some "I can relate" giggles from students. Robbie learns that sometimes you just have to politely communicate your feelings, even about what kinds of school supplies you want and don't want. Robbie also has to deal with a bully who is assigned as his "book buddy." This book could help adults open conversations with their kids about these kinds of issues that are a big part of the world to children. This book isn't award – winning material, but could still be worth your time for the reasons stated above. Thanks for reading.00byfaith00

4. The Last Straw (Diary Of A Wimpy Kid #3) [Book]

Product Details:
The highly anticipated third book in the critically acclaimed and bestselling series takes the art of being wimpy to a whole new level. let's face it: greg heffley will never change his wimpy ways. somebody just needs to explain that to greg's father. you see, frank heffley actually thinks he can get his son to toughen up, and he enlists greg in organized sports and other "manly" endeavors. of course, greg is able to easily sidestep his father's efforts to change him. greg and his family and friends, who make the diary of a wimpy kid books a must-read for middle school readers, are back and at their best in this hilarious new installment of the series, which is sure to please current fans while attracting new ones. publishers weekly-1/19/2009: the third book in this genre-busting series is certain to enlarge kinney's presence on the bestseller lists, where the previous titles have taken up residence for the past two years. kinney's spot-on humor and winning formula of deadpan text set against cartoons are back in full force. as he fends off his father's attempts to make him more of a man (the threat of military school looms), greg's hapless adventures include handing out anonymous valentines expressing his true feelings ("dear james, you smell"), attempting to impress his classmate holly and single-handedly wrecking his soccer team's perfect season. kinney allows himself some insider humor as well, with greg noting the "racket" children's book authors have going. "all you have to do is make up a character with a snappy name, and then make sure the character learns a lesson at the end of the book." greg, self-centered as ever, may be the exception proving that rule. ages 8-12. f&p level: t

Reviews:
My 8 year old second grader absolutely loves these books. His teacher piqued his interest in them when she started reading them to his class. They are kid-friendly "creepy" and the kid characters are smart, brave, resourceful…and relatable. They worry about homework and friendships. AND they are the heroes! I love that my kiddo actually begged me to get these books, especially when it's so hard to keep his interest in things other than "screen time" during the boredom of staying home in a pandemic. He loves when I read to him but these books are at his reading level so he can read them on his own too.peppersfan1

Reviews:
I loved this book because it was thrilling! I could not put it down! Love, love, love it! This book pulls you in from the first page, it is amazing! But probably only for readers above 10.Soph
I absolutely love the book! The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating from me is because it has a circular indent that lasts up through about page 25. It is very big (about the size of an airsoft bullet) but it is kind of annoying. It is in both the first and second book but the rest are in perfect condition so I don't think it should be that way with yours but I just wanted to say something about it.Josephine
This series is AWESOME! The books just keep getting better and better. I am reading through the series so quickly because I can't seem to put the story down. As soon as I get 2/3rd's through I hurry to BAM to get the next one! Thanks BAM, for carrying this great series!ALICIA

I would definitely recommend this for people who like adventure, excitement and mystery. This book is up in one of the best books I've ever read. This book is the GOAT of all books.Budah
Originally reviewed on Just Me My Books. The book follows Percy, who ends up vaporising his maths teacher on a trip to a New York museum, and no one seems to notice. When he is expelled from yet another boarding school, his mother treats him to a weekend at the beach, even though it looks like a hurricane is about to descend on them. It's only on the arrival of Percy's friend Grover do they realise something is wrong and that a Minotaur is after Percy. Soon, Percy arrives at Camp Half-Blood and learns that he is a Demigod – half human, half god. After being recognised by his father, one of the three gods who vowed they would not have any more children, Percy finds out he is being blamed for stealing Zeus' master lightning bolt, and so is sent on a quest to retrieve it from the Underworld before the Summer Solstice, in order to prevent war on Mount Olympus. With the help of his Satyr Grove and fellow camper Annabeth, they discover that the gods have more to worry about than Percy being the son of a powerful god, and that Kronos maybe trying to make a comeback.victoria.k
My Appraisal of the book Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief Written by Rick Riordan If you were wondering about this book and can't decide if you want to read it, I read it and maybe this will help you decide. This book tells the first story of the Percy Jackson Series. The story is mainly based on Greek mythology but with a modern twist. Read about the marvelous first adventure of main character Percy Jackson (a teen from Manhattan) and his friends as they fight monsters and try to keep peace between the Olympian gods. This story is full of action and adventure and will keep readers wanting more. This story won't let you down, except that there is more in the series, and you haven't read it all. yet. I highly recommend this book. Opinion of the Tome GuyThe Tome Guy

Reviews:
I am amazed and fascinated by Rick Riordan's books and not for the good reasons. If you are expecting to read a really cheap version of Harry Poter's books and if you are 8 years old or not smart enough to see all the mistakes in the book, buy it, it will keep you entertain. I need to read the next two books, because I just can't believe the nerve of this saga. My opinion has been the same for the first 3 books and I do not expect it to change on the last 2, but I have to see it with my own eyes.auedmell53
My daughter asked me to read this series with her. At the age of 11 her wanting to do anything with me I will quickly say yes!!! I've found that I'm enjoying this series a little more than she is. All of the books are amazing. Highly recommend readingTRISH
My daughter and I started reading the Olympian Series by Rick Riordan earlier this year. We had read a couple greek myth books and so we decided this series would be fun to read together. She begs me every night to read with her and the books have become a great bonding time for us. She's even started to re-read the Lightning Thief as her silent reading book at school.hunter_sm

17. The Stolen Chapters [Book]

Product Details:
Owen, kiel, and bethany confront secrets, stolen memories, and some very familiar faces in the follow-up to the second book in the new york times bestselling series, the story thieves—which was called a “fast-paced, action-packed tale” by school library journal—from the author of the half upon a time trilogy.owen conners’s whole life changed the day he found out his classmate bethany was half-fictional, and could take him into any book in the library. which story would they jump into next? another fantasy, like the kiel gnomenfoot, magic thief books? maybe something with superheroes? owen’s up for anything except mysteries—those just have too many hidden clues, twists that make no sense, and an ending you never see coming. then owen wakes up in a real-life mystery with a memory that’s been erased and too many questions. how did kiel gnomenfoot lose all of his magic? where is bethany? and who’s the annoying guy wearing the question mark mask and sherlock holmes hat, taunting owen and kiel that bethany is in grave danger? bethany is trapped in a hidden room that’s slowly filling with water, and she can’t escape until her friends find her. but is she imprisoned by more than just chains and a locked door? what’s she hiding from owen and kiel? maybe some mysteries just shouldn’t be solved… please note: the black bars in the first nine chapters are intended.
