I found that if you set the timer to run at 11:00 pm to run through the next day for 2 hours. It fails to keep running into the next day. It is best to not run the unit like that. Just start 12:00am instead for two hours and get what you really wanted 2 hours of watering time. I believe the programming of the unit is fooled when the day rolls over. I never looked to see if the documentation mentions this or not. The unit is easy to setup so I never looked at the documentation.Dynamite Brown
Works as advertised. I can only think of two things that I recommend. 1. As a part of the setup instructions I would recommend that all stations be manually turned on then off to resend the individual valves. I read somewhere that during shipping they can get in the open position, which I experienced, but cycling them with no water pressure applied resets then. Why not just so it anyway to make sure. 2. Programming can get a bit confusing but with flexibility comes complexity. It really wasn't that bad if you just pause to think about what it needs to know to do what you want. I wish it had a feature to reduce all programs by a percentage for situations like some rain but you really want to give some water also, but not a full program. Other than that, works great. If not for the items above it would have all 5 stars.Steve
It pays to be patient when learning to program the timer. Put caps on unused valves, since they are not guaranteed to stay off due to the low power latching valve design. I wish they would put a backflow preventer in this thing. I see the price is already jacked up to $100 – not sure its worth that. Was fairly easy to install (replacing older other brand controller). Setup went well. Firmware automatically updated after turning on (update in less than 24 hours). Only small issue was finding some clearer information on master valve control. Easy to control from my Apple iphone 7.aa9hq
B-Hyve customer service is the absolute worst. I had a problem installing the timer and instead of calling me back, as an email from them told me they would, they refused to call and instead texted me … at no faster than a 45-min. response time. After sending them photos of how I wired the timer, a representative finally said he had a team run a double-check (which he said was fine even though it wasn't) and after reviewing the data and looking at the problem again, they decided the unit was defective and that I should return it for another one. I brought in a professional installer who explained that neither the manual nor the few texts that I received from the company addressed the obvious problem. He rewired it correctly and now it works. Really didn't know what to expect from this little guy. My old controller died, and I was looking for a new controller that I could incorporate into my smart home.This product nails it and then some. Installation was simple. Actually took longer to drill the hole and hang it than making the wire connections. Setting up the app took a few minutes getting the wifi connected. I have purchased, no joke, at least 50 of these timers. When they work, they are amazing. I have one that has been going strong with NO PROBLEMS, for 5 years. I have over a dozen zones set up with different watering needs. Sometimes the screen goes out or a park (button) partially breaks, but its still useable; however, when a valve doesnt open or doesnt shut, it kills plants quickly in hot weather or floods areas and leaves me with damage and high water bills. I have had a number of these not open or not re-shut. Its a nightmare. The company I use is Melnor and they will repair or replace your timer for seven years, but you have to mail it and wait. I just mailed 14 timers and one of my dual timers is not opening, and my trees are dying. I had to hand water and set a timer on my phone to remember to turn water off and on. I also have cuttings and seedlings that must be watered daily in hot weather. Those timers stopped working. I have hard water, but that doesnt explain timers that stop working in a month or two. One of my two zone timers, I have just used the one working zone for the last 2 years. I finally returned it. Great company, honest on repairs/replacement warranties, the product just has some major design repairs. I have thousands invested in these timers. Its ridiculous. I did however by a timer, that has been great, its a solar powered, timer that comes on everyday (Melnor Sunrise timer) No batteries to replace and its been reliable for about 9 months. It worked flawlessly for a month or so. After that, it began to leak water when the hoses weren’t running water through them. I used Teflon tape on all fittings to aid in sealing it and even went as far as using channel locks to tighten it right up. Turns out the water leak is internal in a valve of some sort. I will be returning it and looking for another brand/style. It leaks bad enough it fills a 5 gallon pail overnight. That’s expensive on the water bill..Shane C

It worked flawlessly for a month or so. After that, it began to leak water when the hoses weren’t running water through them. I used Teflon tape on all fittings to aid in sealing it and even went as far as using channel locks to tighten it right up. Turns out the water leak is internal in a valve of some sort. I will be returning it and looking for another brand/style. It leaks bad enough it fills a 5 gallon pail overnight. That’s expensive on the water bill..Shane C

This is a replacement for an old Rainbird controller I'd installed in 1996, and hooking it up only took a few minutes. The connection to our home's WiFi was simple, and it works perfectly. I will say that when moving my cell phone out of range from WiFi (like the far corner of our property), it will sometimes display a connection error on the app, but that could be the phone more so than the device. The app is easy to use, and MUCH easier to create schedules than standing in the garage with a dusty instruction book trying to remember button & dial sequences. There are a couple of things about the app I don't like- 1. Manual watering needs an option to run all zones in sequence. 2. There should be a sequential option for start time/running zones in order, instead of setting the start time individually for each zone. What I do like about the app are the notifications available, and the overall ease of running the system from your pocket. The ability to add pictures of each zone in your yard, is a nice personalization feature, and being able to customize the number of zones on the app, really tailors it to your specific needs. We also purchased the wireless rain sensor, and that was very easy to install and digitally connect to this controller. As far as wireless home devices go, these two Rainbird devices have been the easiest to connect to each other and our home's WiFi. We're very pleased, and highly recommend them, especially at this price.kilkeeslps
Amazing product; the epitome of convenience. If there was one change I could make, it would be to be able to shut the control unit off with the click of a button from the app instead of only from the control unit. As it stands, the only way to shut it off from the app now is to unschedule each zone, one at a time. Otherwise, it's a great product!shalatee
well made, easy to setup. Many options for watering. Nothing is ever perfect for everyone, but for me this is an excellent solution to my needs (ok, the wifi is more desire than need). I have used the rainbird brand for over 20 years and its an excellent brand in this ever changing world. I recommend it. I had the old manual timers for 20 years and no problem, but this seems to be staying with the rainbird tradition of quality and ease of use.cybermilw

There was one detailed direction missing from the controller that was needed to add the Hunter solar unit to the Hunter controller. Hit and miss allowed us to find what was necessary, but it would have been nice to have the direction that a small piece had to be removed to get the solar unit to start working and communicate with the controller.Norm

There is a frequency button, that appears to apply to both connections (so not independent). According to instructions, this frequency determines which days the schedule on the dial is applied. In other words, the settings on the dial are applied every 1 day, every 2 days, every 3 days, etc. The schedule can either be once a day in AM or twice a day in AM and PM. Putting this together, both connections will have the same day schedule. They can be watered either once or twice a day. Putting this together, how do you water "up to 12 times per day"?
