This set has a varied selection of skin tone colors, especially for medium to deep skin tones. The marker ink for the product lays down well, not streaky or overflowing to the point where it spreads/feathers out like a sharpie. The packaging is decent, 3 trays for 36 markers. I do prefer this to a carrying case. I'm not a fan of the triangular shaped barrel of the markers, but that's just my preference. Overall, an excellent set.
Interestingly enough, the day I finally decided to use these I got an email asking if I’d like to review them. Well played Arteza. Anyhoo these things are pretty awesome! I’ma beginners for sure and have never worked with markers aside from like Crayolas in kindergarten and these are definitely not those. I really like how these things perform, easy to layer and blend beautifully to create new colors. The only thing I didn’t like about them was their strong odor. Do NOT use these in an unventilated room because they will definitely make you dizzy. Other than that these are amazing and I’m extremely happy I finally splurged and bought myself some alcohol makers. So far, this item has been very nice to work with. Though I do have very limited experience with markers or marker art. I purchased these as an affordable alternative to the Copic, Faber Castel, and Windsor Newton markers. Previously, I had done one piece of commission art using Windsor & Newton Student set of 24 (a tiger). The peice had colored pencil laid over the top for more definition. Now months later, I bought the 60 set with the flesh tones and gray tones. The grays help me to 'blend' while I try to attempt values and tones in the normal area of art I live in (which is colored pencil, pastels and watercolor). Compared to the Windsor Newton, I find these markers easier to blend. Of course that could be the wide array of grays. I haven't done a subject with 'skin' yet, but I expect nothing less of the flesh tones. Since no markers that I can find on the market are light fast and archival (I read something about Faber Castel, but haven't had time to research it), But still, I see no reason to pay 4-5x as much for alcohol markers when I don't use them professionally. These markers are very pigmented with vibrant colors. I'm sure they will fair fine for the purpose I need them for (friends present and the occasional commission). They are fun to work with and give me an 'outlet' in to a different art form! I only wish I had purchased the 120 set instead of the 60 set. I also wish the markers were available open stock and I wonder if I can refill them with ink in the same way the others can be refilled. The nib replacement looks like it will be a nice feature (when I finally need that). the colors were bright and bold, I had one blunted at the tip. the biggest issue that made them just ok is that they are wet, when you come to the end of a stroke the pens leave a little puddle and if you are happening to be in a small space at the time it of course will spread over and spoil the lines and slick into the other adjoining colors. I have used them for medium to small spaces, for example a place-mat of various size butterflies from teeny to 3 inch and have had no problem for the larger butterfly but the smaller its iffy if you get a wet tip forget the control, or edges, and the space is a mess, picture can be ruined just that fast. I wont even try to use them on my fine line mandala books. So great colors for med spaces, maybe down to med small but not truly small or fine, not so much because of the tip, which is sharp enough, but because of the ink puddling off the tip of the stroketonmcfeel0
I got these to use in my adult coloring books. They bleed and spread a lot so make sure to use in books with thick paper or are only printed on one side. I don't think these would work nice in children's coloring books or printer paper.
