i use their products to open and close pool and they are great and good price. however this item. was recieved BROWN, MOTOR OILY LOOKING feeling, and fish smelling. MUST BE OVEREXPIRED. I contacted them and they graciously sent another one after i sent them photos that it was brown. However the same thing – brown motor oily looking, fish smelling, dark brown, i would almost think its used motor oil. no one is gonna put that in their pool. So I went with HTH as I used to. no prob there. their hth 60 is unavailable for less than $52 a quart so i got the 30% 2 of them for $18 each. crazy prices but walmart is best price found anywhere.bob

We had a serious mustard algae problem in our above ground pool. Double shocking, triple shocking didn't phase it, phosphate removal didn't work, two other types of algaecide didn't work, THIS STUFF WORKED! Only took a few tablespoons plus about three quarts of chlorine and algae was completely destroyed. This is my go to for algae protection. During the last long hot summers, algae is a weekly recurrence. There are good descriptions provided on the bottle for treatment. For example, for maintenance, the dose is different than for fighting an outbreak. I recommend also purchasing some PH test strips. I've used this stuff for many years. Have a huge tree over our fiberglass pool in the Memphis TN area. The debris is constant and includes lots of bugs and nastiness. Keep cyanuric and PH on the low end and with NoMor Problems I can run my chlorine at 1.0-2.0 all summer long without problems. Excellent product, excellent service and fast shipping! I've used this several times during the process of using ascorbic acid (Stain Free Extra Strength) to remove well water iron staining from my vinyl-lined pool. Be sure to start with low or no chlorine, Algimycin 600 to prevent algae during the destaining process, and plenty of Jack's Magic Pink Stuff to sequester the metals once they are lifted by the ascorbic acid. Add chlorine back in VERY, VERY slowly over the next week or the water may turn green (from the iron) and the stain will redeposit. If that happens you must start over :(. I also added HTH D.E. filter-aid powder to my sand filter to facilitate removal of the sequestered metals, then backwashed a day or two later.

I have used this product for the past 3 years, and although it says 90, I use it every 60 days. The 90 day Algaecide control is extremely effective and I never have to worry about for the most part. And at the end of the season, I use a little under half a bottle along with 2 gallons of concentrated Clorox bleach to close the Pool for the winter. When I open the pool in early May, it is generally blue. I use 2 gallons of Clorox Bleach the first day, the Algaecide the second, and it generally ready to swim the second day it is open. I strongly recommend this product for anyone, but especially those that have had issues with Algae in the past.

I added the maintenance amount suggested on the label but algae kept building up. So, I added the pool start up amount suggested and it turned my pool into a bubble bath that won't go away. I purchased this thinking it would tackle my algea problem. I will say, when pouring it in, I did initially see some reaction to the chemical. However I'm still in the same position I was in initially with a substantial amount of Algea still present in my pool. I tried it for two days and nothing has changed. Got our 15×30 inground pool resurfaced recently….and decided I was going to really buckle down and make a pool care plan I can stick with, so that dreaded black algae would never come back and root itself into my expensive new pool surface like it did the old one. This product meets that demand, and at a cost effective price. It foams just the very slightest bit for a few minutes….that's it. Haven't seen a single spot of any kind of algae. My routine is simply: 2x a week Brush, vacuum as needed, 1x a week shock (one of the brushing days happens on the shock day), This product in the quantity stated in the instructions for maintenance every 3-4 days, and 2x a week I'll test the water and adjust the PH/Chlorine if needed (I use liquid only, due to current tablet shortage, if you use chlorine tabs, you wont need to do this part as often). That's it, (other than keeping an eye on the stabilizer, especially if you're using only liquid chlorine) It might sound like a lot, but really all it takes is consistency, 10 mins of monthly planning, and on average about 10 minutes a day of my time for a consistently crystal clear pool without a lick of algae. If your pool is covered, it would be even simpler/faster. Also saves me 40$ a month, all costs considered, compared to the price a pool guy used to charge…. (and I still always had algae towards the end of the week with him).Jen109

This product is clearly labeled as non foaming. We used it exactly as the label instructed. While it did get rid of most of the algae, we have been dealing with several inches of foam across the entire pool surface. It looks like a bubble bath. We have tried everything else, so now on to commercial (and costly) defoamers. Do not use this product!!Ash

This is the only thing that will kill the water bugs in our pool. I've never had a problem with algae in our pool but the water bugs that show up after a good rain is ridiculous. This is my go to product for my algae and water bug preventative. The price has doubled this summer though. That is absolutely ridiculous!!Happymom
