It's an absolutely the best & quality RO system to purify the water. To begin with the product was packed very well and included all the accessories needed for installation. The instructions are pretty clear and after installing everything, there wasn't a single leak or drip of water. Within 20 minutes of turning the water supply on, I had nice, pure, crystal clear water that tastes great. This particular model comes with an extra stage filter that adjusts the pH by adding a small amount of calcium hardness back into the water. Pure RO water without this is on the acidic side (pH would be 6.0-6.5 range) and doesn't taste that great. I tested the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of our well water and it was around 450 ppm. After installing this RO system and purging it well, the filtered water TDS tested about 32 ppm. Pretty good reduction! Overall, I can't say enough about the system. Received the item sealed in a box. Kind of heavy. It's nice that the filter system is already pre assembled. It also look nice with clear canisters. Just connect the tank and then to the cold water line. The instructions are clear / straightforward and the included tubes are in different colors as presented in the instructions. Even though the filters are pre connected give each tube a good push to make sure they are properly seated. Also, check that the canisters holding the filters are closed tight (one of the tube in mine was not seated properly and the tube holding the RO filter is not tight enough so I got a big leak on the tube connection and a small leak from the filter tube). After correcting the leaks, no other problem is encountered. With parts already provided, I don't have any problem connecting it to the cold water line. After flushing the system (around six hours later) I have clear great tasting water. I hove this short review can help.Radu G.
Why do I own 4 Express Water RO systems? Well I have 2 at home, one on each floor. And another 2 at my office. Sunday used to be "water delivery day." I'd go down to Walmart with truck for the Primo water station every week with a dozen empty barrels, and then drive back home with a dozen barrels of water filled to the brim. I would recommend this product simply for the customer service that is provided bu iSpring. I have had this installed for just over a month now, and I think that I'm finally OK with it now. I'm still not sure that the water is supposed to be as aerated as it is coming out of the tap, but I have tried everything to get rid of the air in the system and nothing has worked. I have bled the system more than 10 times, 3 of which were with the system tilted as described in the manual, yet still the water comes out looking cloudy due to the amount of air in it. That being said, it is just air. After a few minutes the air separates out and you are left with very clean drinking water. The installation was a little time consuming, and the instructions are little to no help with that. There are a ton of videos on YouTube that are much better. The biggest issue that I have with the system is the drainage line. I do not see why the whole system is so well designed and yet there is not a part included to replace the drain cylinder coming from the sink. Having to drill a whole in the steel and using a thin piece of foam to seal it, seems a little Mickey Mouse to me. I honest regret doing it and wish that I had just fabricated up a section of pipe and using a threaded adapter to connect one of the iSpring push connectors to. In summation… I am happy with the product. There are some design flaws, nothing detrimental. I ordered this water system through Home Depot Canada online. It was shipped directly from the iSpring facility in Georgia USA within 2 days of the order being placed. Arrived at my home amazingly fast. I bought this system to replace a 20 plus year old system that had started giving trouble. Since I have never liked the taste and scale of municipal water I wanted to continue to have an in home water treatment system. This one is very similar to the one it is replacing. We really like the tap that came with it. The push to connect water tube fitting made installation quick and easy. We also have water from this system plumbed to the refrigerator (water tastes great) and the humidifier on our furnace to avoid mineral deposits on the drum and inside the furnace. Now after it has been installed and using the RO system I love it. The water tastes so much better using it and you feel good about drinking the water knowing its without all the chemicals. The install of the products was a little tricky. The directions aren't detailed enough. For example the lines that plug into the manifold aren't as easy as the video shows or the directions advise. You really need to push them in and if your still having issues google says to use Vaseline (which was the only way I could get mine in). Little tips like that the directions do not outline. Also the amount of time it took for my tank to stop gurgling was several hours longer than what the directions state. I installed the system myself and was time consuming and not to difficult. If they included the little tips it would be much more helpful. Overall I am very happy with the product.Clean water lover in Ohio
The system has a number of design defects and annoyances people should know about before buying. First, when installing the faucet, if you have a thicker counter top (like marble or granite), the spacer used to secure the faucet that is provided is too long and will make it difficult to get a seal on the connector for the water line resulting in a leak. The nut will not provided enough stem to allow the connector to secure tightly. The "fix" is to hacksaw the spacer to make it shorter. Not exactly the best way to address a design defect, but it does work. Second, if you have a garbage disposal and the sink drain is "open" you will hear a terrible gurgling noise when you first set up the unit. While I thought that noise would go away when the unit was finished "setting up" on the initial install, that noise returns regularly when the system drains. Another annoyance that customer service says there is no fix for. Finally, there are two additional pieces that come with the unit which are a metal base ring and rubber seal. Nowhere do they explain how to install these. I discovered it is for holes cut into the counter top that are larger than the faucet base and had to figure that out. Nowhere is it mentioned in the installation manual or online installation video. Why would you include that without any instructions?! Further, the rubber piece is larger than the metal base and after it's installed, there edge of the rubber is exposed around the based where it sits on the counter top. Again, no one really knew how to deal with this and simply said that's the way it is. The unit itself overall is ok, and the water seems fine, but the design and installation instructions need significant improvement. It's never reassuring to call customer service, explain a problem like the gurgling noise or installation of the metal base and be told "sorry, but that's just the way that it is." Not sure this is the best unit for the money, but it seems to be fine for simply getting better water. I would definitely check out other units to see how they installed and whether they have these same issues.mcsinger19
First, I'll say that I absolutely love the whole house water filter we have from Aquasana. But, this under sink filter is a total bust. It take forever to "prime"; gives only a trickle of water before running out, and the water that does come out of the filter smells and tastes funny. We have different filters on other taps, so it is not the well water quality. We will be uninstalling it. I had this filter system installed by a professional, licensed plumber.Don't Recommend

Terrible product. I wasted a complete day of my life trying to make this work, it never did, The gaskets were smaller and it kept leaking,the tank never filled up, it constantly made noises like a baby crying, and the constant dripping on the drain will make you crazy. i gave it a couple of days but it never worked. couldn't pay me either to put all this stuff in a box and return it. I would recommend this product simply for the customer service that is provided bu iSpring. I have had this installed for just over a month now, and I think that I'm finally OK with it now. I'm still not sure that the water is supposed to be as aerated as it is coming out of the tap, but I have tried everything to get rid of the air in the system and nothing has worked. I have bled the system more than 10 times, 3 of which were with the system tilted as described in the manual, yet still the water comes out looking cloudy due to the amount of air in it. That being said, it is just air. After a few minutes the air separates out and you are left with very clean drinking water. The installation was a little time consuming, and the instructions are little to no help with that. There are a ton of videos on YouTube that are much better. The biggest issue that I have with the system is the drainage line. I do not see why the whole system is so well designed and yet there is not a part included to replace the drain cylinder coming from the sink. Having to drill a whole in the steel and using a thin piece of foam to seal it, seems a little Mickey Mouse to me. I honest regret doing it and wish that I had just fabricated up a section of pipe and using a threaded adapter to connect one of the iSpring push connectors to. In summation… I am happy with the product. There are some design flaws, nothing detrimental. Cloudy water that becomes clear, is better than drinking the full periodic table that comes out of out taps.Daniel
I ordered this water system through Home Depot Canada online. It was shipped directly from the iSpring facility in Georgia USA within 2 days of the order being placed. Arrived at my home amazingly fast. I bought this system to replace a 20 plus year old system that had started giving trouble. Since I have never liked the taste and scale of municipal water I wanted to continue to have an in home water treatment system. This one is very similar to the one it is replacing. We really like the tap that came with it. The push to connect water tube fitting made installation quick and easy. We also have water from this system plumbed to the refrigerator (water tastes great) and the humidifier on our furnace to avoid mineral deposits on the drum and inside the furnace. I would recommend this water jug to anyone and everyone! Since I cannot tolerate the taste of the chemical treated tap water…I was searching for a filter jug. I have tried Brita and Zero but got a bitter aftertaste. I have been using the Classic pitcher for at least 8 years now and I have been very happy with it except the timer. I am on my 2nd pitcher and on both the timers never worked. But having said that, I absolutely love the taste of the water. I just keep track and change out the filter every 2 months. When the last filter I purchased made the water taste 'chemical-ly' at room temperature I contacted the company and they promptly sent out a new filter for me. Great customer service! I have used a Santevia classic for years and really loved it. When it came time to get a new pitcher, I decided to go with the new MINA model expecting the same quality. Unfortunately, the filter does not fit properly into the pitcher, so the water is only partially moving through the filter. The problem is that, unlike the classic filters, the MINA filters have no seal around the top, so water easily sneaks passed the filter. I'm not sure why the design changed for this model. I loved and reccomended mina pitchers and filters to everyone i knew..most of my family began using them. And they arent cheap! After a decade of using santevia water filters.. Suddenly, Nearly a year ago..we started noticing..the pitcher always has bits of the black filter pieces…chunks…flosting in the pitcher/water. And being poured out…so we are drinking it. Chronic sore throats have been an issue, one wonders if it is related. Ive tried everything. And wasted so much money and SO MANY filters asumimg it was a defective filter….and trying replacing it…(way way too soon)! This filter is fantastic and the water tastes to fresh and clean. 5 stars there. But the lid is terrible. You cannot pour a glass of water when there is water in the top reservoir, it just pours out the top fill hole. Poor lid designs drops my rating. I was very surprised by this limitation. This is the best water filtration system that you can obtain, and technical support from the company is great. Francis helped me with the registration and with obtaining some additional tubing that I required for the leak stop valve. I ordered the RCC1UP-AK online from Home Depot Canada. The system was shipped directly from the manufacturer a day after the order was placed. Everything is provided in the box to filter water using (1) an initial three-stage filtration process; (2) a reverse osmosis (RO) stage; (3) a post-RO filter; (4) an alkaline remineralization filter that ensures the water has a good taste; and (5) a UV water filtration system to deactivate any bacteria and viruses. Documentation is provided and should be thoroughly read before assembly. The company also provides You Tube videos that demonstrate how to assemble the system. Also, the company can be contacted via e-mail for any questions. Prerequisites: (1) Two AC receptacles (NEMA 5-15R) under the sink. For safety, a GFCI should be present. To ensure that the installation coincides with electrical code, do not use an extension cord. (2) If there is not space under the sink, the unit could be placed in a basement and water brought up to the faucet using a potable water pump. The potable water pump and tubing is not provided in the kit. (3) A water supply line under the sink and a drain. Adapters are provided for the water supply line and the system requires the installation of a saddle drain. You will have to drill a hole into the drain pipe. (4) A hole for the water facuet. The hole can be drilled in the countertop, but many kitchen sinks already have a hole built in. If you have to drill a hole in a countertop, exercise caution – this can be challenging. A bracket is provided in the kit for installation if you would like to place the water faucet on a wall or other surface without drilling a hole. My kitchen sink already had a hole for a water faucet. Installation: (1) The installation is relatively easy if you read the manual. Make sure that you read the manual and also watch the You Tube installation videos. Keep a tablet nearby during the installation so that you can watch the videos. (2) Match the colored tubing to the colors on the system connectors. Black is the drain, red is the water input line, yellow is connected to the water tank, blue is connected to the faucet. (3) Mate the tubing to the connectors as instructed in the manual and as demonstrated in the online videos. (4) The saddle drain requires a hole to be drilled in the kitchen drain pipe. If the saddle drain does not fit on the pipe, you will have to purchase larger bolts for the saddle drain. I found that 1/4"-20 bolts with a length of 3 inches worked well for a 1-1/2" kitchen drain pipe. (5) Drill the saddle drain hole into a horizontal section of kitchen drain pipe. The system is relatively quiet during operation, but a dripping sound may occur if the hole for the saddle drain is placed into a vertical section of pipe. The hole should be drilled closer to the top of the horizontal section of pipe. (6) Before placing the system under the sink, set up the filters and the tank on a nearby table. You will need PVC plumber's tape to mate a connector with the metal threads on the top of the tank. There is a vent on the side of the tank that is not used. A black plastic holder needs to be removed from the metal connector before the tank is used. The holder is apparenty designed to act as a cradle for the tank, but I did not use it since the tank already has built-in feet. (7) Install the system first under the sink, and then install the iSpring leak stop valve. The iSpring leak stop valve (provided in the kit) will turn off the water if there is a leak and will have to be replaced if any water contacts the valve. An installation video is available on You Tube, and additional red tubing might be required. I contacted iSpring and Francis set up an order to send me the additional tubing (at no additional cost). That is great! (8) After inserting new first-stage filters, the filters should be flushed. Disconnect the red tubing from the reverse osmosis stage, close the tank valve, and run water through the first three filters until the water is clear. Then, re-connect the red tubing to the reverse osmosis stage and open the tank valve. Open the kitchen faucet and run the water through the system until the tank is empty. The tank will become empty when the water flowing through the faucet slows to a trickle. (9) The red tubing might have to be taken from the back of the assembly to the front when flushing the first three filters. (10) As per the You Tube videos, ensure that the filters are inserted in order. Also, it is easier to mate the filters first with the system before mating the containers with the threads. The 7 stage ro reduced the tds to only 24 and we are unable to tell the difference between our water now and the taste of bottled water. Generally good, with some flaws and lack of support. I bought this filter to replace an Opti alkaline filter which I had continued issues with. Generally this has been better from a performance standpoint, though the taste is not quite so good. I have been using this unit with the two-stage filters (PH001 and PH002). The first set up worked well – the taste is nice and I like the high capacity. Size wise it's a little challenge to fit in my fridge given the maximum shelf spacing I can achieve – it's a tiny bit too tall so it's a pretty tight fit and that makes it a pain to refill and when I want to remove to clean it. The Opti was shorter and a little wider. When I first attached the PH002 second stage filter, there was an unpleasant taste – it needs a lot more cleaning and flushing than the instructions suggest, so I recommend following the set up instructions twice to ensure you get a good taste. My issues started when I replaced the filters for the first time. I followed the set up and filter priming steps – filling and discarded the filtered water 6 times to ensure no trace of unpleasant taste. For the forst few weeks it worked fine, then the water starting filtering extremely slowly – just a drop every few second. So I would fill the reservoir at night and after 24 hours only had about an inch of water through the filter. I removed the filters, gave them a good shake, ran under the tap, shook again (as in the initial set up instructions). Some black water emerged, so I repeated a few times and replaced in the unit. Again it was good for about a week or so, but then the same problem. This has happened a further 3 times, so at this point, I'm having to reprime the filters every week, which is a pain as you have to empty the whole thing and it's a hassle. I contacted Customer Support (actually replying to one of their emails saying "how are you getting on with your unit, get in touch if you need help", but they have not responded, so I don't know what to do and whether this is an issue with the replacement filters I bought. Another issue is that the PH002 second stage filter is EXTREMELY difficult to attach if you use the silicone ring. If you omit the ring it's easy to attach but doesn't create a tight seal and water leaks around the sides of the filter. But with the silicone ring, you have to push the two filters together very hard to be able to screw the smaller one in place, and it's a real struggle. I'm male, 6'4'', 200lbs, pretty strong and this is very hard – I don't know how others would be able to do this if they have any dexterity issues. So my initial positive experience with this is waning somewhat since I cannot get Customer Support on the slow filtering issues – I wonder if others have experienced something similar.Brendan W

We recently moved out of our home in which I had installed a smaller, 4 or 5 stage RO system. I didn't realize how spoiled we were until we moved into an apartment in a suburb of a large city. Lots and lots of municipal contaminants….YUCK! The water was absolutely disgusting. We were buying 3-4 gallons of water a day from Aldi, Wallyworld, etc. Even at $0.75/gal, it was starting to add up quickly. The previous RO system that I used was out of stock at Bulk Reef Supply which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because then I found NuAqua. I'm so very grateful for this system. I'm very happy to have paid the extra for the Alkaline stage which, in my limited understanding, means we have to re-mineralize much less often. What a difference in taste. I installed our first system (5 Stage) RO for our fridge and ice maker when we lived in North Texas on well water. I installed it myself and added a separate booster pump to help. My wife and I were really pleased especially when the particle tester showed we went from 600 down to less than 100. We just purchased our second RO (7 Stage) nw/pump for our new house in West Texas, known to have hard/bad water. Again, ran it to the fridge and ice maker, turning our 726 particle water down to 26! Installation was pretty easy. Fair amount of effort since it did not go under a sink. After mounting the filter and setting the tank I found it easier to use the schematic for the connections. I was concerned about the volume of waste water so I put a T on the drain line with a valve to drain water to a bucket. Also, I had existing filters and piping installed for the house and for the faucet/fridge. I left them in place. Took longer to run the drain line and do the framing than actually installing the filter. Start up and flushing went well. Not nearly as much waste that I thought. Probably close to a 5 gallon bucket after everything. Took a while to chase the air out of the system. Seemed like it did continue to drain without stopping like in some reviews. Eventually I adjusted the top filter to just make it straight and the same with the shut off valve. Sounded like air bled through and a little later it did shut down. Ran through a few more cycles and it worked fine. So far, seems pretty good. No leaks We did not really like the chrome faucet. Already had a nickel one installed, so we left it.Vinnie

It is not often I write a review, but after installing the APEC ROES-50 I bought, I had to write one. I know good equipment from junk; I am an RF engineer, aircraft pilot and aircraft A&P mechanic here in Tucson, so I know good equipment from junk. Unfortunately when buying mechanical things I am usually disappointed. Most things do not live up to their advertisement hype and are junk. That is not the case with the APEC RO system. I am not an RO water expert, but I spent over 10 hours researching RO water systems for my house before deciding on the ROES-50. I bought this for under the kitchen sink and to feed my refrigerator ice maker. The RO unit came with everything I would have needed for a normal house. All I had to buy extra was extra tubing to connect my icemaker. I ordered it from APEC online. I must say the RO filter installation book was the best set of instructions I think I have ever seen. A clear color picture of the lay out, different color tubing for everything so you cannot get mixed up (this was really nice), clear easy to follow step by step numbered instructions from start to finish. And a clear easy to find phone number you can call if you have a problem. Even the quality of the paper in the book was excellent. It was not really necessary, but I added a permeate pump to the unit to make up for my low water pressure. I could have got a RO unit with the pump installed from the factory, but I saved money by getting this one and adding the pump myself, and they are easy to add on later. After installing everything it all worked and worked well. The permeate pump REALLY works and speeds up water production a lot. With my low 45 PSI water pressure into the permeate pump, the faucet open and storage tank empty, my ROES-50 makes 32 oz of water every 7 minutes, that is 51 gallons a day. Now having the faucet open all day is not real life use, but you could make 51 gallons a day if you needed to. My old COSCO RO unit only made about 10 gallons a day and dumped waste water 24/7. This new APES unit shuts off when the pressure tells it the tank is full. You can test this by turning the tank off (to speed up the test) and watching the waste water shut off after 30 seconds. The RO tank has a shut off valve on it so this can be done easily. And THAT was a nice touch my old RO filter did not have a shut off on the tank. If you have the permeate pump on yours you can turn the tank valve off, put the waste tube into a bucket so you can watch it, open the faucet and watch the RO water come out and watch the waste water pulse on and off into the bucket as the pump does its pumping. Then you can turn the RO faucet off and watch the waste water stop in 30 seconds. It is easy to test this way and see the pump work, and see the shut off valve shut the water supply off and see the waste water stop coming out when it thinks it is full. For an old MO boy that had to see it to believe it, this convinced me it all was working great. I highly recommend AEPC if you want a RO water system for the house. And, I highly recommend getting a Permeate pump if you have less than 50 pounds of water pressure, or want to increase the efficiency of your system. David F Branson Tucson, AZmarybranson
I installed this system on an existing small bar type sink that has it's own cabinet underneath. Installation went well, for me that's saying a lot as I'm not the handiest around. I followed the instructions after reviewing them entirely so I didn't get half way and run into a problem. The biggest issue I had was me failing to tighten the metal compression fittings down tight enough from main water source to system. The instructions explain what sequence to start opening the supply valves, both on the main and then the system (blue valve on the tank). But really make sure your connections ARE TIGHT. Having smaller tools like two good wrenches will help especially in a tight area. They include enough teflon tape for the install, but you might want one extra roll on-hand only if you need to back the fittings off and on for any reason. Teflon tape is good but is really meant to be used that first time you tighten the fitting. Loosening and re-tightening fittings will quickly wear it down. The faucet I actually have not yet installed in place, but its attached, working and is actually better quality than I expected. I'm storing the faucet assembly under the sink when done with it, for now. Actually I may not install it to the sink at all. It is kind of nice to be able to move itto the container. I have several two gallon containers that won't fit this small sink for example, so I just fill them at the counter or even on the kitchen floor. The drawback to this is that you need to drain the trapped water in the tubing after you turn the faucet off. I just use the sink for this. Misc Notes Output flow is good. I'm not taxing the system heavily (~2 gals/day) so if the tank is full the pressure is great and will fill a 1 gal. container fairly quick. On a 2 gal container it slows a bit near the end, when it gets to a trickle it's done for awhile and you need to let process again, this amount of time varies with the water pressure in your home. Mine is pretty good, not sure exactly what it is, but its north of 70 PSI for sure and it takes a good 2-3 hours to fill the tank. I can get 2 of 3 gallons in 1.5 hours! If yours is < 50 PSI I would recommend doing your research on possibly incorporating a permeate trap. Otherwise it will take longer to fill your tank and will result iin more grey (waste) water (which can be easily collected for use in the garden). If it's taking 5-6 hours or something longer to fill the tank, then your water pressure is probably too low and almost certainly not a problem with the system itself. The RO process for the system requires ~70 PSI as I understand it. I think this is even in the paperwork somewhere. BTW, the tubing is sturdy and won't kink but if the system is slow you'd want to check this. TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), this is why you're here yes? OK mine went from ~ 250 ppm DOWN all the way to ~ 6! I am very happy about this and it was my target TDS. I had been slogging to the store to buy water from a commercial RO system with the same TDS, but haha not anymore! PH (Potential Hydrogen or Acidity/Alkalinity), went from 8.0 to 6.7 which is a good improvement. The PH level of pure water is 7.0. Noise. The system, while in operation is very quiet for me. When I fill a container at some point I hear a small thud and the thing kicks into operation. I'm not hearing any dripping or water noises within the system at all but I know it's doing it thing. Packaging & Quality of materials is excellent! Everything was very clean, safely packed and wrapped or sealed where applicable like the food grade tubing. Customer Support is EXCELLENT! I had a question about pre-filters and the response was immediate, friendly and helpful. I really think it sets them apart from competition and you could not ask for better. This factor was a big part of my decision to buy from them, as again I'm the handiest dude around.highernrg
Be carful not to lose the tiny nylon tube inserts that are loose in the connections bag. Good value and good support when I needed installation advice. The RO probably removes more minerals than commercial RO water that gets remineralised. I would say the taste from our city water supply after going through the system is halfway between distilled and commercial RO water, so I ad a tiny amount of Himalayan salt, which may not be the perfect remineralization solution, but it works for me.Peter

I would recommend this product simply for the customer service that is provided bu iSpring. I have had this installed for just over a month now, and I think that I'm finally OK with it now. I'm still not sure that the water is supposed to be as aerated as it is coming out of the tap, but I have tried everything to get rid of the air in the system and nothing has worked. I have bled the system more than 10 times, 3 of which were with the system tilted as described in the manual, yet still the water comes out looking cloudy due to the amount of air in it. That being said, it is just air. After a few minutes the air separates out and you are left with very clean drinking water. The installation was a little time consuming, and the instructions are little to no help with that. There are a ton of videos on YouTube that are much better. The biggest issue that I have with the system is the drainage line. I do not see why the whole system is so well designed and yet there is not a part included to replace the drain cylinder coming from the sink. Having to drill a whole in the steel and using a thin piece of foam to seal it, seems a little Mickey Mouse to me. I honest regret doing it and wish that I had just fabricated up a section of pipe and using a threaded adapter to connect one of the iSpring push connectors to. In summation… I am happy with the product. There are some design flaws, nothing detrimental. Cloudy water that becomes clear, is better than drinking the full periodic table that comes out of out taps.Daniel
I ordered this water system through Home Depot Canada online. It was shipped directly from the iSpring facility in Georgia USA within 2 days of the order being placed. Arrived at my home amazingly fast. I bought this system to replace a 20 plus year old system that had started giving trouble. Since I have never liked the taste and scale of municipal water I wanted to continue to have an in home water treatment system. This one is very similar to the one it is replacing. We really like the tap that came with it. The push to connect water tube fitting made installation quick and easy. We also have water from this system plumbed to the refrigerator (water tastes great) and the humidifier on our furnace to avoid mineral deposits on the drum and inside the furnace. We have had different water filters and ionizers for over 30 years. Our last ionizer lasted way longer than we were told it would, or expected it to, which was nice. As luck would have it though we recently found that we needed a new ionizer. In the time since we bought out last unit there has been a lot of change and improvement to the options available.
