#WalmartContest People often ask if this or that tablet/laptop will work for their grandparents/parents. On this one the answer is yes. My mom is in the 70's, and she is not a technical wizard. In fact, she wasn't much of a computer user before I bought her this. Now it's with her all the time, and she's gone way beyond my expectations as far as using it. I won't go into detail on the features/hardware except to say it's wonderful for her. It doesn't fail, so I don't have to worry about constantly fixing it or resetting it. Mom uses it to play games. She uses it to look up hairstyles, for "older gals" as she puts it, which she stores as images to show to her hair stylist. She is amazed that she can see a hair style and have it the next visit to the beauty parlor. She uses this to keep up with the latest news from the NFL. She's excited to be ahead of the analysts on the NFL Network. "Ha, I already knew that," she exclaims when a story breaks. She plays a lot of games on the laptop. "But don't worry," she tells me, "it's only the free ones". She downloads coupons for stores and uses them right from the tablet. She was having a hard time remembering which shows she recorded on the DVR downstairs and then worrying about going up to the bedroom where she doesn't have the DVR. "I want to go up to bed, but I want to watch this show and it's recorded." Me: "You can copy it to the computer, you know." Her (with her eyes lighting up): "What!!!??? Nobody told me about that! I can watch them on here?" I showed her how to copy shows recorded on the DVR. Now she can go upstairs to the bedroom and still watch her favorite shows like Gilmore Girls. (Don't get me started on that show. All the dialogue is quick draw banter. But mom loves it.) Mom has gone from the days of no TV to a device she can carry with her. Today she told me a TV is "really just a monitor now, isn't it?" I smiled. Mom is firmly in the 21st Century. She has recently begun to use Facebook more, after I reminded her she has a keyboard for easy typing. She likes to see photos of her grandchildren and send messages to family members. Her communication has gone from weekly calls with family members to video chats. She even "attended" a nephew's wedding via skype video call. She doesn't like flying, and the wedding was in Portland, OR. It's not the same as being there, but otherwise she would have sent a gift and seen photos after the event. For my mom, the T100TA is worth a lot more than the low purchase price.FCabanski
I used to own this Asus computer/Tablet, and I absolutely loved it. It was great to take on the go and it obviously could be used as a desk top computer or I could detach it and use it as a tablet. Very convenient and easy to use. I was very upset when it was stolen from me, but it goes to show that it is a very desirable product. Just make sure to download a security application that can locate it, if it is stolen. I sure wish I would have done so. This computer/tablet is well worth the money and very a very good investment and it has 64 gb storage built in, so for any tech savvy photographer or busy little school bee, who needs to save many things, this is the product for you.toni.v
First of all I must mention that Walmart displays this as 64GB of MEMORY when in fact they are referring to the 64GB SSD hard drive. The memory is 2GB of DDR3. You can get the actual specs from here: https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_Transformer_Book_T100/#specifications AS for the product itself.. awesome speed on this and if you utilize google drive or other cloud you will find 64GB of storage is just fine. I personally own a few chromebooks which also have small SSD drive and do not miss the large local storage. Yes it does take quite some time to charge as it utilizes the micro USB connector… just make sure you have actually powered it completely OFF in order to get it to charge over night otherwise you will find it will never completely charge. Pressing AND HOLDING the top sleep/standby button until you get the screen to display "slide down to power off" displays is the easiest way to confirm it is powered off. Just pressing the power button on the top will turn off the display only. As well, if you close the lid it will stay on. If you choose shut down from the normal power option this is fine too but be sure to wait until you see the camera tally light flash (white light) briefly and once it goes out it has powered off BEFORE you close the lid, otherwise it will just go to sleep and will continue to use the battery. The battery is awesome with 11 hours of use over wifi without a problem. I turn off the bluetooth if I am not using it to provide even longer use. As well, you can adjust the screen brightness which is automatic but once you adjust, it remembers your setting until you press the sleep or shut down. It is critically important when you first get it to get the latest bios updates and all windows updates. Basically any time you get updates it is important to be sure they get done as many of these deal with display drivers as well as sleep/power management (I'm a computer tech so this is something I am well aware of). Many people have returned the computer because it would not power on and that is most likely because the battery had completely emptied so it is important to plug it in so that you see the charge light (orange until charged and then turns white). There is not a better unit on the market right now that provides you with a tablet AND laptop all in one with Windows 8.1 installed.Ercadm

Reviews:
Lousy product, unless you have the fingers of a 4 year old. I wouldn't take this product for free. I am a desktop and network designer and builder. I use Asus main boards on every build since about 1996. I admire their main boards tremendously. I consider this product a total sham.Norman M.
We got this over an iPad so we could run desktop apps and for Windows 8's much better multi tasking. The trade off is way fewer apps and Windows clunkiness such as outdated drivers and poor High DPI support. It's also much bigger and heavier than an iPad. The ASUS T100 is more iPad sized.Derek the pro
I've been a loyal ASUS customer since I started using their motherboards in desktop builds. I've always been impressed with their build quality and never had a faulty component. This was no different. It's an impressive machine, and a little bit of extra weight is understandable when you pack a laptop-class quad-core system into a tablet. As far as the user who gave it 1 egg, the touchscreen is perfectly usable with a stylus, and there are plenty of options in Windows 8.1 to adjust/improve the sizes of icons to make it more touch-friendly. Windows 8 is a little wonky to use at first, but I've grown to like it..Jeffrey G.

I bought this laptop in a week ago abd I am fully satisfied with it . It's battery is so good , performance is awesome. Light wait loaded with window 11 . So silent no noise. Screen resolution is so good. Just downside is web cam only. I will highly recommend to others . Under 500 $ it's a good deal . 250 ssd with 8 gb ram. Too fast performance compared to other laptops in same priceBIREN
I bought this computer mainly for the purpose of school, but was hoping I'd be able to run some very light games as well on it. Firstly the computer is horrendously slow for the first hour or two of use, but it does get to a fine speed afterwards. The build quality of it feels decent, but is very heavy at the back, to the point where I wouldn't recommend holding it from the front. It comes with quite a bit of bloatware but it's easy enough to get rid of. Now for games, haven't run much, but doesn't seem to really be good enough to use. I've only tried Persona 4 Golden and Minecraft, but they were both crashing. Lastly, the screen itself is quite beautiful, but only from one angle. If you move your head a bit up or down the contrast completely blows. Despite what I said, I still recommend this laptop if you're going to mainly be using this for school or work, but if you need to do video processing or wish to play video games I'd opt for a more expensive laptop.Uilliam
Great buy but I was a bit disheartened when my initial experience starting up the laptop was very slow. I did not even reach the final set in setting up windows and I got the nightmare “blue screen”. I rebooted it and I did not get that again, but it ran slow. But that was not the worst part. What really put me off was the charging port. The wire would not sit in correctly, snugly/tight. If I slightly put on the wire, it would pop right out…. Seems very poorly built laptop.Ali

I bought this to replace my 9 year laptop that had died. I don’t need a computer like my last one just one to do a Word document or use internet site that can only be done on a computer. This one was on sale at Staples and came highly recommended by the salesman. I got a nicer laptop than expected. I love the fingerprint log in and the lighted key boards and the faster connection speed for the internet. I really have enjoyed my new computer.ACT2752950
Welcome to my review of this lenovo vivobook 15 (I purchased the peacock blue) I bought this laptop expecting it to be comparable to the i5 models that its closely priced to on here. Unfortunately that was not the case I am a power user and I feel that this will not be the laptop for me. The m.2 drive although fast will become filled in a matter of days if you have creative cloud and download a few programs that alone will eat up the free space on the 128gb drive which, a pro and the 1TB 5400 rpm mechanical drive that comes as storage is okay max transfers were peaking at 140MBs. I've also noticed that out of the box its truly running on 6GB of ram out of the 8GB (non upgradable ram is soldered to the motherboard) 2GB are set aside for graphics. Graphics are poor will not display 4K UHD movies using the HDMI output you will see some serious studder on the tv even when using only the tv as the display it just cant keep up. This is definitely not a gaming laptop by any means and should not be bought as such device the graphics may do good for those editing 1080p video and working on photoshop and lighter work. The Ram usage is very high even at idle I've seen the ram usage at nearly 93 to 100 percent when multi tasking. The screen is okay nothing special no touch screen for the price kinda disappointing that it isnt,(not saying it was mentioned to begin with just stating that for the price it wouldve been a nice feature to have). Also the speakers are on the bottom so if you plan to work on a area other than a table expect the sound to be poor and muffled. Closing thoughts the laptop is light weight and fast for those coming from a older device, the built in WiFi is great on it was getting 500mpbs down and up (I have fiber at home 1gbps) so that was a really nice pro, it's nice to see the usb c port for gigabit adapters ect. The SD slot makes the device feel cheaper than it needs to be the body of the device is already plastic that sd slot just makes it feel less premium IMO. Instead of the 2 usb 2.0s the could've made them 3.0 since there only 1 3.0 and it's on the same side as your usb c and hdmi and charging port. I would recommend this to students & families who only plan to use Microsoft office and browse the internet and do online work and maybe some image and video editing. Everything above is solely my opinion as a person who sincerely loves technology and has been in the field for a while to have just a tad of knowledge to be able to give a decent technical perspective.Guywhoenjoysreviews
This is my first Asus F512JA laptop and the laptop did not disappoint!! There are more features like finger scan and backlight keyboard that similar laptop do not offer. I found setup to be quick and straightforward. This is a time saver for me as I don't have to enter my long password everytime. The laptop is light on RAM for new Windows 11 so I'm planning to upgrade it to 12GB RAM to run smoothly. I will also have to upgrade SDD to bigger drive or buy external HDD for storage as the included 128GB SSD is mainly for Win OS. I read most online speed reviews and I found it to be accurate for this laptop. I would recommend this laptop especially when it's on sale.Dr Monsta T

Reviews:
The photos for this Chromebook show the stylus which is one of the reasons I bought it. When the computer arrived there was no stylus and the hole where the stylus would go was instead covered with a solid plastic cap. I came back to the product page and noticed there was a note '*pen not included' but it wasn't very obvious given that the photos show the computer with the stylus. So now I have a touch screen computer that I wanted to use with a stylus, and no stylus. I guess I should have read the product info more carefully. Don't buy this if you assume you get the stylus with it.
The touchscreen is an awesome addition but a little sensitive which results in some odd effects if daughter (8) does not wash her hands every time before she sits down to use it. That said when I see another at the price I bought this one I will be buying it for daughter (6) who will need a chromebook next year because I have not seen a better value proposition that has a touch screen, something kids these days will need to grow up truly digital native. Seemingly at random it will start trying to select things with the long press action. When it does, hold it up to incidental light and there is a fingerprint there. Clean the fingerprint off and it stops, not always even food sometimes just sweat residue. Minor hassle but it does detract from the experience, ASUS should have used a fingerprint resistant coating on the glass, this is after all a ruggedised unit built for schooling. If ASUS had used a fingerprint resistant surface there and on the mousepad I would have rated this 5 stars. Keep a tub of screen wipes handy.MatthewH578

Am not using a lot of apps or programs so I should not be overloading basic capability. Might have 2 browsers with fewer than 10 tabs each, roboform, mobiaudit or gigspot open at the same time. This should not be slowing this system down and making it sooooo slooooooow that I don't feel like I can get much done when I most need to.Jeanne B.
I bought this for a steal during a Christmas promotion and love the features of this device. I previously had an ASUS tablet with detachable keyboard about 6 years ago that I finally had to stop using because Windows 8 was at end-of-life, so I knew that buying another ASUS device I would be getting my money's worth!HappyAsusUser1

So. I bought this laptop about a month and a half ago. At first everything was great and swell. It does run fast as heck boi, and it is very silent and doesn’t slow down with several apps running. Battery life of about 4h when streaming videos, surfing the web and light gaming, so not the best out there but it does the job. Screen colors and quality of image are fantastic. HOWEVER about a month in, my network cards disappeared. Out of the blue, suddenly, the computer acted as if wifi as a concept hadn’t been invented yet. Tried everything I could try on my own, and after 2 days, resigned myself to go see the Geek Squad. Then when I get there, the cards are back. Guy said it had to be « an unpdate ». An update that takes 2 days? Sure Jan. At that point I figured, ok, must’ve been a software issue, it’s Microsoft, it’s part of the deal, etc. Well lo and behold, it happened again. Actually, it’s happened twice since then. At this point, I guess it’s an hardware issue, but I’m told nah, everything is fine! So is it just mine? Is it that model that actually has issues? I don’t know. But it sure isn’t something I ever experienced on Mac. All in all though, I would recommend it. It is a great model and a good laptop that can get work done. It’s Asus and the ratio price/quality is definitely worth it. I just wish it wasn’t trying to cannibalize itself on a regular basis.gioi
I took the ASUS VivoBook 15.6 OLED i7 laptop out of the box, set it up in less than an hour and it is amazing! Speed is incredible (5 seconds to boot up from being turned off). I just checked the internet speed and it was 415 on spectrum. I only pay for 200. Must be the wifi 6. The mouse pad is amazing as well. The touch is perfect for me. The OLED screen is extremely clear and the detail and colors are so vivid. The angle of view is almost 180 degrees. I can't say enough good things about this computer. What else can you buy today in a laptop for under $600 that will perform like this?PapaOwl
Would not boot out of the box. Had to do some research on the ASUS website to do a hard reset (hold down power button over 1 minute). That fixed the issue. Removing 1 star for that issue. Got this laptop in the August promotional sale for $599. The OLED screen is amazing for photo work and watching videos. Keyboard key travel is a little shallow and the track pad is decent. Build quality could be a little better for a $999 laptop but I understand the compromise when you're including such a nice expensive screen. It's a steal if it's on sale, otherwise wait for a 12th gen Intel or Ryzen version, as the CPU here is a little outdated.Casey

Reviews:
If your looking for a laptop for school, gaming, video or graphic creation and dont want to spend 3K plus, then this is for you. Battery life is alright but everything else is amazing. This oled screen is absolutely gorgeous, amazing keyboard and trackpad. Performance is quite good but not for the price, but you get the quality build and lot of extras for the premium price. Available ports that you will find on this laptop is almost perfect. And for last the cooling is actually amazing, your components will be kept cool. It can get loud sometimes but a silence mode can be found if needed. Also performance up to 140w (45w boost cpu). Csgo fps around average of 350+ at low settings For quality and performance this is definitely the best alternative. 32gb ddr5 with one stick swappable and one extra slot for ssd m2.0 can be found which will future proof this laptop. JUST BUY THIS!Approved
I purchased this Vivobook Pro 16X OLED because, on paper, it had the right balance of performance and price. A week into ownership, that analysis has been validated. The machine is snappy and responsive, exactly as one would expect from a brand-new current-gen rig. I'm not a creative professional so I find DialPad to be a bit of a gimmick, and I had plenty of bloatware to nuke (as is typical with OEM OS installs), but the overall build quality and out-of-the-box configuration are most pleasing. I am receiving a 90-day warranty extension from ASUS for this feedback.jmille22

Reviews:
I purchased this laptop around 2 months ago now and it's been amazing so far. Very quiet and light weight. Easy to take on the go. The sound comes from underneath the laptop so isn't as loud as others. Keyboard is good, smaller than I'm used to but easy to use. There is a key to have it backlit if working in reduced lighting. Display is crisp and webcam is as good as any I've used previously. Overall, I'm happy with it!Annie
I bought this laptop after my old one showed signs of slowness during use and boot up, Wi-Fi connection drops, as well as inability to be upgraded to Windows 11. The keyboard feels comfortable with keys well-spaced, having backlighting, and good tactile responsiveness. The OLED display is fantastic. This new laptop has 1GB SSD and 16 GB of memory which should serve me well, as well as USB-C charging.teraden888
The laptop is just ok. One of the problems I have is the screen quality. I am surprised that this screen doesn't look much better than the Sony Vaio I purchased over 10 years ago. Also, the number pad lock key doesn't light up when it's on which is very confusing. The customer service is terrible. Customer service is definitely an essential part to consider when you purchase a product. It is very disappointing.Xboxrita3350

Reviews:
Four things that I hate about this computer: (1) The lighted keyboard is useless as it is not bright enough or the lettering on the keys does not conduct the light properly. (2) I have never had a laptop with a silver keyboard and I'd suggest that this is not a color that complements the background lighting and makes it difficult to see what the keyboard key is (for those keys that you use less frequently). A dark keyboard (black) would provide a greater contrast and enhance the lighted keyboard feature. Tilting the screen forward helps, but it is the wrong direction for viewing as one typically tilts it back slightly. (3) The mouse touch pad sensitivity is adjustable, but sliding your finger across the touch pad does not work well unless your finger is moist. If it is dry, it just slides across the face of the touch pad without moving the mouse correctly. If you moisten the tip of your finger it seems to out more drag on your finger and the mouse responds correctly. (4) The battery life is the worst that I have ever had. The sticker on the keyboard says long battery life and that is misleading. Anything with only 2.5 to 3.0 hours is pathetic. My previous Dell Latitude computer was 6+ hours and other computers are even 8-10 hours, so this is definitely at the bottom of the scale. worst of all, it is an internal battery and you can not replace it with one that has an extended life or greater mAh. (Milliamp Hours) The price for this computer was good and I don't want to go through the conversion process again, but I greatly regret ever making the purchase, and would not recommend it to anyone. Asus has other models with a black keyboard and I would strongly recommend one of them and not this one with the silver keyboard. There are other features that I like about this computer though. The larger screen size (17.3") was achieved by having a smaller frame and the overall size of the computer was essentially the same as a computer with a 15.6" screen.Lonnie-Tennessee
I just purchased this laptop and received it today 11/11/2022 as a replacement to my Hewlitt-Packard, which I had for a number of years. I was skeptical because this is the first ASUS laptop I've owned and thus far I cannot be happier with the product. First, let me confirm that this laptop does came with the Windows 11 Operating System as it indicated. I am pleased with the functionality. One of my favorite features is utilizing the fingerprint to unlock the laptop. The fact that it is touchscreen is also a very nice feature. Setting up the laptop initially was fast and quite easy. Yet what I am most pleased with thus far is the responsiveness and graphics. It's definitely a step above my last laptop. The audio quality is amazing to me. My previous laptop played music and videos so low on the highest setting you could barely hear anything. Not so with this ASUS laptop. When you turn up the music, you really can enjoy listening to it! The backlit keys are a nice feature too & ergonomically the keys feel great. As I type the keypad is not overly sensitive so it's not interfering with my navigational experience. Not only is the laptop itself sleek, lightweight and comfortable but the power cord is lightweight too. This laptop was purchased primarily for personal use and if needed for work. The screen is definitely large enough where I could utilize it for work and not feel as if it impeded on my efficacy to complete work. I definitely got the better end of the deal to land this laptop under $400 because the functionality for the price is amazing. So far…I'm definitely loving it!Kree8tivity
Read the reviews before you buy. As of right now, I can’t say that I like anything about it because I’ve only had my hands on it for about 2 hours, but for the past two hours I have been disappointed. It took about 12 minutes to boot up the first time but I’m not sure if that’s common. After creating a Microsoft account I logged in and opened up Edge and noticed right away it was slow to open. I can’t explain it, but the custom Edge settings slowly faded onto the screen and looked laggy. I moved my mouse to the top of the window to open a new tab and it hadn’t even loaded the option to do so yet. When it did, I opened a second tab and noticed the loading icon on the tab froze before finally loading the page. I went to Google to download Chrome but couldn’t because the laptop was in S mode, which apparently helps maintain the computers performance by forcing you to only download from their store. So I removed S mode to download Google Chrome. Not sure if it’s just me, but Chrome seems laggy on this laptop compared to my other. Anyways, I noticed the overall performance of the laptop is just slow. Someone left a review saying it’s a good laptop in a pinch, and as someone wrapping up final classes for college, that’s why I went out and bought one. But this is going right back to the store tomorrow! I read some reviews after purchasing and setting it up, and I noticed people have similar complaints to mine and each other. For example, something about the keyboard feels off. Can’t tell if the keys are too wide, spread to far apart, or both. The color of the symbols, letters, and numbers are competing with the color of the keys, so it’s slightly difficult to see with the lighting in my room. I’m not a fan of the speakers being under the laptop because it makes the audio sound trapped under it, if that makes sense. Just sounds bad in my opinion. Especially if you’re not using it on a flat surface. So for those who use their laptops in bed or on their carpet floor be prepared for it to sound REALLY muffled. Anyways, I noticed I need 12 updates. From the photo attached, you can see one is on 0% and the others are pending. At first it was like this for an hour, but now there’s 4 updates pending, and they’ve been stuck for an hour also (still waiting as I write this). I wish the charger port was on the left side of the laptop and not the right, but that’s my personal preference. Don’t take my word on this, but I could’ve sworn I fully charged it and then it was less than half way charged after using it for about 45 minutes. Overall, I’m not happy with this purchase and I’m returning it tomorrow to get something else. I rated the Display 5 stars, assuming that we’re talking about the screen. Other than that, first impressions are everything and due to my first impression, I would not recommend this laptop.Joseph

ASUS TUF GAMING A15 15.6" FHD 144HZ GAMING LAPTOP – AMD RYZEN 7 – 8GB DDR5 MEMORY – NVIDIA RTX 3050 TI – 512GB PCIE SSD MODEL:FA507RE-A15.R73050T Best Buy Tech Insider Network PROMISING GAMING LAPTOP – NEEDS UPDATING OVERALL: The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 is extremely well made, with lots of positive features. It is held back by some options, many of which you can overcome by upgrading but some you can’t upgrade. I hesitate to call it an “entry level” gaming laptop. It is more like a defeatured “mid-level” gaming laptop. THE GOOD: – Fast modern CPU – Nice Fast Screen (at 144 hz) – Good feel to main keyboard, with compact number pad – Backlit keyboard with colors you can change – Sturdy construction – Plenty of ports for connectivity. (Lan, 4X USB, Full size HDMI) – Good cooling forced out the back (not onto your lap) – Modest sized power brick – Fast NVME Drive – Fast RAM – NVIDIA GPU (for ray tracing and DLSS) – Not that heavy THE “LESS GOOD”: – 4 USB Ports, but they are all 5Mbps (no Gen 2, only Gen 1) – Internal Drive is only 500 GB, but there is a second slot for expansion – Only 8GB main RAM, but there is a second slot for expansion – Only 4GB of VRAM, CAN’T BE UPGRADED GAMING: If you must game at “Ultra” settings on a laptop, then you will have to spend a great deal more than the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 costs. At “Medium” settings, and 1080p you can achieve a very respectable 100fps with DLSS active in most games with the ASUS TUF Gaming A15. I posit that if you are gaming directly from the laptop screen (not trying to drive a giant external monitor), then you won’t see much of a difference between Medium and Ultra settings anyway and responsiveness is more important. I found gaming at Medium worked just fine in terms of quality and responsiveness. SETUP: Owing mostly to Windows 11, it took several hours (like 4), from the time the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 was first turned on, to the time I could start loading games. OTHER TOPICS: The keyboard is attractive, comfortable, and easy to use. The trackpad (like 99% of the trackpads) was cumbersome, and often misfiring right clicks instead of left clicks. (get a good mouse instead) The screen is bright, and worked well in full daylight. Colors were good. Heat was nicely displaced out the back vents so as not to overheat the bottom of the laptop. The fans were relatively quiet is most operating modes. The ASUS tools to control lights, performance, and other aspect of the experience were easy to use and helped get that extra boost of speed when needed. CONCLUSION / RECOMMENDATION The fast CPU does a lot to overcome the 4GB limits of the video card. Still, most games won’t run well beyond “Medium” settings. It is likely that you will want to upgrade both the main RAM from 8GB to 16GB, and storage from 500GB to at least 1TB or more. So, you should take those items into account when you consider the ASUS TUF Gaming A15. The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 makes a good affordable and well-built “REAL” gaming laptop. It strikes a good balance between value and performance. Do I wish it had more RAM, or bigger GPU? Of course. For me, the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 works well for road trips, and quick pick up games, when I’m not at my full gaming (desktop) rig at home.TheOffice1234
## Design As expected with a portable gaming laptop, the ASUS TUF A15 Gaming Laptop is definitely not a thin ultrabook: it's almost an inch thick but surprisingly is not that heavy, weighing under 5 pounds. Interestingly, the ASUS TUF A15 laptop is actually somewhat rugged. It has several protections against shocks, drops, temperature and humidity. I wouldn’t carelessly toss this laptop around, but it is nice to know that the occasional jolt in your backpack while carrying it to your friend’s house for a gaming session should be fine. ASUS also includes some coordinated laptop stickers with the system. The A15 has an HDMI port, 2 USB 3.2 ports, 2 USB-C ports, and a headphone jack. One of the USB-C ports supports video out for those who want to “dock” the machine and use it with a separate keyboard and monitor. Presumably due to the high power demands, my particular USB-C hub (with a 30 watt output) was not able to charge the ASUS, so I still needed to plug it into the included power brick. It’s also quite possible that the USB-C ports do not allow charging. I really enjoy the RGB keyboard that loops through a rainbow of colors continuously by default. The RGB effects can be customized in ASUS’ pre-installed “Armoury Crate” app, which allows you to choose between a static color, a “breathing” animation, a “strobing” effect, and the default “color cycle.” The keys are comfortable and quiet for both gaming and typing, but can feel a little “smooshy” to those who use mechanical keyboards on a regular basis. The Armoury Crate app also allows you to further customize system settings, disable applications while a game is running, view the temperature and CPU and GPU usage, and download animated wallpapers. At first, the Armoury Crate app was a little annoying as it was constantly bugging me about installing updates (that were separate from those found in Windows Update), then installing even more updates after those updates were installed. However, after several rounds of updates and reboots, Armoury Crate finally seemed content and became less intrusive. ## Performance The ASUS TUF A15 is a decent gaming machine, providing very good graphics performance, but not quite at the level as you might expect from a desktop gaming rig. The ASUS TUF A15 fits comfortably at the mid-range of gaming laptops: not as low as a budget machine, but not as high as a pricier top-of-the-line model. The 15.6-inch display looks great, although colors did appear to be a little “washed out” at times while playing. The built-in display features a 144Hz refresh rate and a matte finish to help reduce glare. Please note that this is a 1080p display and not 4K. I fired up Fortnite and left the system auto-detect the optimal settings. Fortnite selected the “high” settings (just one notch below “epic”). Playing on the “high” settings allowed a frame rate around 100fps. A few rounds of Fortnite brough the internal temperature to around 87 degrees Celsius. The fans are somewhat noisy while gaming, but this isn’t a big deal if you are using a headset. The GeekBench benchmarking tool gave this laptop a CPU Multi-Core Score of 7360 and an OpenCL Score of 69760. Overall, the ASUS TUF A15 has very nice performance as it boots up Windows 11 very fast and zips around the web and various applications without an issue. This would make a great machine for a work or school as well as the 8GB of RAM, AMD Ryzen 7 processor, NVIDIA GPU and 512GB of storage can handle both work and gaming applications. ## Battery Life Obviously, game playing will reduce battery life significantly to only a few hours, but for general web browsing and document editing, the ASUS A15 should last you around 4-7 hours. ASUS’s included “MyASUS” application gives you the option to limit battery charging to either 80% or 60%, which allows you to maximize the battery’s lifespan if you primarily plan to use this laptop while it is plugged in. ## Summary The ASUS TUF A15 gaming laptop is a good mid-range system for casual and semi-serious gamers that doesn’t break the bank. The display, design, and RGB color changing keyboard give this machine an awesome look on the outside, while the AMD Ryzen 7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage give it very good performance on the inside.TechnicallyWell
THIS REVIEW IS FOR ASUS TUF DASH F15 (2022) If you want a barebones powerhouse at a fair cost this may be an amazing buy. I purchased this at 999 usd, would rate 3 stars if purchased at full price ($1500 usd). Pros: lightweight without feeling cheap, portable (thin), 3070 graphics card, 12th Gen i7 CPU, ddr5 RAM, affordable Cons: gets HOT. If you play games in bed, your system will likely be consistently over 90 degrees Celsius if you’re running something somewhat demanding (even with fans howlin) Display/ panel: has trouble transitioning between different greys/ blacks (huge issue for me), colors are fine but don’t pop, 144hz refresh rate is good but not great, screen doesn’t get very bright Webcam is meh (720p), no RGB keyboard (if you care), battery dies faster than other laptops (3070 draws lots of power, laptop doesn’t hold much charge relative to some other gaming laptops) mw2 benchmark: 99 avg fps with some cpu bottleneck at (almost) max settings.. Used nvidia’s “optimized” settings, (not quite as close to maxed settings as 1st benchmark) Avg 100fps, no bottleneck, Summary: while this all-business, no-frills gaming laptop does have a 3070 graphics card and 12th Gen i7 processor at a great price, it isn’t designed well enough to experience its full potential. A competitor had a similar laptop on sale for the same price ($999 usd), with a 3060 gpu, 165hz, and liquid metal to help cool the cpu. It benches about 8 avg fps slower than the ASUS TUF DASH F15, both running the same settings, BUT its cpu consistently stays around 10-14 degrees Celsius cooler. For me, a few extra frames isn’t worth the headache/ stress of knowing I’m cooking my cpu. This laptop would probably benefit significantly from undervolting. TLDR; Not much to look at but gets the job done. Buy it on sale and see if you like it.cree

Reviews:
Bought the Laptop 3 month ago, the frame of the laptop is bended, you can see the keyboard has a depression in the center. Plastic is noisy and not robust you can bend the computer with the pressure of your fingers. Mouse pad is not properly sitting in his place left side is above plastic frame surface and right side is sinking in. Corners of the inside frame of the screen chipped, thought was my fault when I see the top right corner chipped…after a week the top left corner chipped in front of my eyes…I’m quite peaky and treat my staff very carefully, this is clearly a manufacturing issues with material. Computer don’t turn off… Last but not least the way plastic retain fingerprints is awful, you need to have your hands completely dry to use this computer otherwise it will look terrible after 5 minutes…. My first and last ASUS unbelievable shocked on how a company can release a product like this Don’t buy worst everEnrico
I was very excited to get this 2-in-1 laptop so I could try out digital art. The issue? This laptop gets hot extremely easily. Too hot to use sometimes, in tablet mode or in laptop mode. Sometimes I'll just be typing on Word or browsing the internet and the fan goes crazy and the keyboard gets quite hot. I took it in and nothing was found to be wrong. The touch screen is also pretty glitchy. I'll be using it in laptop mode and typing and randomly it'll act as if I clicked something using the touchscreen. Other times, it won't register I'm trying to use the touchscreen. The trackpad is the same way. The sound quality is also dismal at best. The speakers are very quiet. There are a few pros: it's fast and charges quickly.Jennifer
I have had this computer for some time now and have seen no performance issues. It's 16 GB of ram provide for easy multitasking with no lag. Multiple applications are able to run with ease. I also use my computer for light gaming where most games are able to run with 60 to 80 frames consistently (More graphically intensive games will see frames dropping to the 30 or so range). The keyboard and trackpad are nice and responsive and the interface is nice. It also allows for many customization options to the screen color, Battery life settings, diagnostics testing, microphone, etc. Personally, the only thing I have found to be slightly lacking is the camera. The quality isn't excessively good however, it is still usable. Overall the computer is excellent. The price is very reasonable, It is practically ready to use from the box aside from the usual windows customizations and is generally a great device. I would highly recommend this computer.EA

I bought ASUS Transformer Mini T102HA-D4-GR from newegg.com: Invoice Number:148336390, Invoice Date:3/7/2017 12:20:05 PM, Sales Order Number: 303981675. On March 18, 2018 the pc wouldn’t start up. The power red was blinking. I did search on line and found many similar complains. I did try to recover the system using recommendations posted on the web but couldn’t get back to normal. I sent email to Asus about the problem and received polite answer that my warranty was expired and estimate for $330 for repair. I did send a second email asking for technical note of how to open the case to take out the hard drive and got another polite email: “I understand your query and I do regret to inform you that we are unable to assist you with any modifications of the unit. ASUS does not support any modifications whether it be hardware or software. However, you can have a licensed technician assist you with the upgrading of your components or taking them out. Attempting any upgrades or physical repairs on your own would be at your own discretion and risk as this may void the warranty. We do appreciate your understanding and we do value your business, thank you for being a part of the ASUS family. If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to let us know, we will be more than happy to assist you. “ One star for one year of use and 0 stars for customer support.Bojan D.
This little 2-in-1 surprised me. I wasnt expecting anything more than a lightweight tablet that cpuld, in a pinch, double as a laptop when I had need of a keyboard. Quite pleased to discover just how much I can do without having to switch to a full laptop or desktop PC. While this system isn't exactly spec'ed as a gaming computer, I find that it\s more than just a simple low- to mid-range utility device. I've even managed to play Kerbel Space Progam on this (don't tell my employer). Granted, it uses an Intel integrated GPU with shared system RAM (not going to be using this to mine bitcoin but it performs more than adequately at both 3D gaming and it's real workaday job of helping me hammer out and compile code. Would defintely purchase again!jother90
I'm really, really torn on this 2-in-1. If this device had a 1080p or higher resolution screen this would be an automatic 5-egg review, and I'd be praising it as easily one of the best devices in it's category… however, it doesn't have that, so here we are. I used this as a primary mobile PC for a number of weeks, and never found it really break a sweat. Microsoft Office installed with no problems, even threw the new version of Photoshop CC on there and it was pretty competent working through some basic image manipulation and some drawing with the style (which is really nice, by the way). I just kept saying to myself "I really wish there was more screen real estate," and ultimately that's where Asus really let this thing down. Opting to go with an 800p screen clearly allowed Asus to save money to put more storage, better wifi, a faster CPU, etc. in this device, but I would have rather cut down on one of those to get a higher resolution screen. When it comes down to it, this is a great device. If you already have a laptop and a desktop but need something portable you can carry with yourself and use to still get work done, you should seriously consider this Transformer Mini. Having a full-fledged Windows PC fully connected to One Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. is a HUGE advantage over trying to work on iOS or Android when you're mobile. The ability to use the stylus to quickly annotate projects is huge for any mobile professional, and I found this was really, really good at that. All that said, I think this is an extremely solid 2-in-1, especially in the sub-$500 market. If Asus upgrades this next year with a 1080p (or even higher, please) screen this is easily the best 2-in-1 on the market… As it is, I'm giving this Transformer Mini 4 out of 5 eggs… the 1280×800 screen really detracts from what otherwise is a phenomenal device.Lance W.
