The hoop is great once put together but in my case the putting together part was not very straightforward. The base post is two pieces that are supposed to fit together by slipping the lower post into the upper post and then bolting them together. The posts did not fit together. The lower was too big and would not even start to slip into the upper. I ended up using a sledgehammer to bend in the sides of the lower post near the end and then bent in the corners so that it would be small enough to start inside the upper post. I stood the two posts on top of each other and hammered on the bottom post with a sledgehammer to force them together. After about an hour I was able to get the two posts to force together enough to bolt them. The braces which support the post to the base also needed some adjusting to fit together. I had to use a metal drill bit to widen one of the mounting points. Everything else went together fine but would have been easier with a third person for a few steps.Jacob

It's fully height adjustable from 2.3m to 3m using the handle on the rear. And the 54in Glass Backboard handles being outdoors in all elements, as well as providing excellent rebounding. The base holds 190litres of water and provides the basis for a solid platform and excellent overall stability of the system. The downside to this system is the build process as it comes completely flatpacked in two very heavy boxes. The instruction manual is well layed out and easy to follow in most parts, however there were two parts that were issues arose. First was when you had to connect the two parts of the rear pole – top and bottom. They needed to slot into each other and overlap a certain distance. Challenging, and I just managed it with a great deal of banging! The second was when it came time to connect the glass backboard to the rear poles. Following the instructions, you did this with the system standing completely upright, which just didn't make sense to me – cause how are you going to get up there? And holding the glass backboard at that height for any period of time was going to be significantly difficult. The instructions need to be amended to have the backboard connected whilst the system is lying down (which it is for most of the early part of the setup), and then stood up! As a family we absolutely love this Basketball System. It's awesome! Already having family competitions every day! I received it within a week and put it together. The backboard was crooked. I looked on the website and the ultimate hybrid portable basketball hoop with an oval pole that I purchased was no longer available and it was replaced with square pole version with the same name as pictured above. Spalding warranty sent me new adjustment arms. So I took it apart and replaced the arms. This helped a little. One of the arms that i replaced had a significantly different angle. This ball is a good quality ball, it has a nice weight and feel in the hand and great bounce. It works for a game out on the local court and I don't see it wearing out or getting ruined anytime soon. Hello – my review is just so so. The touch and feel of the ball is fine but it seems like you have to over-inflate it to get the right kind of bounce out of it. I’m an ex-college basketball player so I’m very familiar with basketballs. It’s just a bit odd that this ball doesn’t have the bounce it should. I'm saddened that Spalding lost the rights to the NBA as the official ball of the NBA but that's business I guess. I always thought Wilson just famous for tennis balls. Nonetheless this ball which came with The Beast is a great basketball. My boys have been balling with it for a couple of weeks now and they love it. The ball is a very acceptable indoor ball. I've used Wilson Evo the last 5 years, but the price keeps going up and I thought I'd try something different. This ball is a solid choice. It's a stiffer cover as opposed to the Evos softer cover, but ultimately still a good touch to the ball and a good handle. I purchase about 20 basketballs per year. I'm an early adopter of new basketballs and happy to try them and generally have low expectations. I purchased this ball after learning it's the ball that my local states use as the "official high school" ball (normally we play with Evos at my house – but Wilson cannot seem to keep them in stock). After having this a few weeks this ball still seems a bit uneven — raised areas near the seams – and does not seem to hold air very well. The Wilson Forge PRO is the best mid-price range composite leather ball I have ever tried. I give it a 10 out of 10 score in Grip and Control (both the channel construction and the grippy feel of the cover are almost on par with a broken-in professional leather ball) and a 9 out of 10 score in Bounce, which is very true and predictable but seemed to be slightly less responsive on a wooden indoor surface. I tried this ball indoors under very hot and humid conditions and found that it really helped my passing and shooting, and also outdoors on a well maintained asphalt court which produced zero erosion to the cover. I intend to do another long term review mainly to update readers on the durability of the cover, but I suspect that it will be at least an 8 out 10 score in line with other comparable composite balls from Wilson. I switched to the Wilson Forge PRO from a Wilson NCAA composite replica ball and have to say that the Forge PRO edges out the NCAA on every relevant attribute. Wilson's Indoor/outdoor NBA Authentic basketball looks and feels great right out of the box. The ball arrived perfectly inflated. On the outdoor court, the feel and grip get even better after some use. Yet the ball is showing little or no wear after a couple weeks of playing with almost daily. I haven't played with it indoors yet, but it seems like it would be great for the gym too. This is definitely a huge upgrade from my previous indoor/outdoor ball (not Wilson brand) that was slick, had seams coming apart and inflation seemed to drastically change when playing in hot or cool weather. This Wilson ball is a high-quality item that should last a long time. It would also look great to display or get autographed.
My daughter loves practicing with her Wilson Authentic Series indoor/outdoor in our driveway that is real rough on basketballs. It’s held up great! She has the same ball in Wilson EVO Next that she uses indoors. The Authentic ball is the next best ball that we found that give the best feeling of the game ball she uses in high school ball. She carries both of them everywhere. She has used the ball for inside court drills and it has performed great! Great value and buy! The Wilson Forge PRO is the best mid-price range composite leather ball I have ever tried. I give it a 10 out of 10 score in Grip and Control (both the channel construction and the grippy feel of the cover are almost on par with a broken-in professional leather ball) and a 9 out of 10 score in Bounce, which is very true and predictable but seemed to be slightly less responsive on a wooden indoor surface. I tried this ball indoors under very hot and humid conditions and found that it really helped my passing and shooting, and also outdoors on a well maintained asphalt court which produced zero erosion to the cover. I intend to do another long term review mainly to update readers on the durability of the cover, but I suspect that it will be at least an 8 out 10 score in line with other comparable composite balls from Wilson. I switched to the Wilson Forge PRO from a Wilson NCAA composite replica ball and have to say that the Forge PRO edges out the NCAA on every relevant attribute.
