20 Best Bath Water Filter (2023 Update)

Being one of the 1,000 selected to try out the PUR water filtration systems was a God sent to me. I live in an area where the water may be a bit questionable. The taste is obviously bad, and the clarity was off most times, hence buying bottled water. While using the PUR system, it has changed the taste and clarity, making drinking water a better experience. I drink more water now, than before…..thanks to my wonderful #PUR system. I live in Florida where a water purifier is a necessity in most areas. I can taste the difference between the water I use from tap vs. purified tap water through the PUR filter. I moved from a place with soft water to one with the hardest water I've ever felt. I couldn't brush my hair after a shower while my hair was wet. It was torture to brush my hair if it was dry. My hair was tangled 24 hours, breaking, and frizzy. I tried different conditioner, oil treatment, and detangler sprays. Aquabliss saved my hair after the 1st shower. Let me start by saying- I never leave reviews and I have also tried every shampoo, treatment both professional and over the counter and my hair would always look good for a week but after showering with our well water the same thing would happen. Orange. Brassy. Dull. Dry. Our well is worst of the worst. We live in an old house and have a “well house” with a semi shallow well. Absolutely no relief from orange. Gross water. Until we purchased this. My hair has been colored one time since November and looks amazing still! I do still use Malibu hard water shampoo several days a week but this filter is the #1 reason for better hair and skin! I don't even haven't to scrub unsightly orange residue from the tub weekly. It has been a savior! If you have icky well water and issues with your hair and skin I HIGHLY recommend this. I was skeptical at fief and tried to do as much research as possible but for the price I just gave it a shot. And I am so glad that I did! It is worth every penny! We did change our filter after 3 months opposed to 6 because our water is that bad. But even every 3 months is completely worth the price!john

I'm really impressed by this thing. I have had such bad chlorine in my shower ever since I bought my house a year ago. Hair brittle all the time, skin flaky and smelling like chlorine. All of that went away the instant I installed the Bliss filter. My hair looks and feels healthy, And I don't smell chlorine fumes when I take a shower anymore. I'm so grateful for this product. I'll see how it holds up overtime. So far week one is going great. I wish I had known about these a long time ago! I received mine today, installed it in like 5 minutes, took a shower and I immediately could tell a big difference! I could actually comb through my hair with no trouble. Something I haven't been able to do in a long time. Also, this winter I have been itching terribly from dry skin. I was really hoping that this product would work as claimed. It does not. It temporarily helps with some of the general chlorine Smell, for a few days.. but it certainly does Not remove chlorine from the water. My skin still burns, coughing and sneezing, burning eyes, ect. I am very sensitive to it and know exactly if it's in the water or not. I would like for AquaBliss to explain to us, with the real laboratory testing to back it, how exactly a tiny little filter could take ALL of the chlorine content in gallons and gallons of water flying through it and make it disappear? Where does it go exactly? Does all that chlorine volume stay inside that tiny filter? No. Does it magically disappear? No. This product does not work as stated.Ashley H.

I just receive the unit. Initially thought I got a dud since after I put on a couplw more round of the tape, the water was still coming out of the pipe and the filter. Decide to check out the website, and problem solve. The old washer was pushed into the pipe, so pulled it out and out in the new one and no leak. Wish they have those details on the page. Water seems to have some difference. After taking a hot shower, the walls doesn't seem to be dripping yellow for now. I still have to do a major scrub down of the walls. I can't remember if I had wanted to get the 100 or the 220 model to see which is better. For now , SF 220 seems to show enough of a difference in water difference.Philnnyc

Say bye bye to nasty chlorine and hello to fresher filtered water. Does a fairly good job of filtering chlorine out of the water. Let's face it, YUCK! Who wants to bathe in that?! Where we're at they load the water with it four times a year. This helps filter the water and leaves you with pure clean bath water. Refreshing idea! Definitely recommend it!C

I've been wanting to add some additional filtration to my faucet as I've grown tired of filling up a filtered pitcher repeatedly. It has been an egregiously hot summer and we plow through water. This filter is fairly high quality in construction, incredibly simple to install and works great! You can be up and running in minutes. The only problem I could foresee is if you don't game much clearance between your faucet and the handles. Other than that I'd decibel recommend!Will05

I am so happy with this water purifier even though before ordering I didn't take into account that I have a very new faucet and unfortunately it wouldn't fit my kitchen sink, it would only fit my bathroom sink but thats ok it is very easy to install, and very simple to use. I should have bought this along time ago. Even though i have well water. It will save me time and money now that I don't have to buy bottled water. Thank you for making this product. We moved to a new home and the city water here is not good. We financially were not ready for the cost of reverse osmosis so this was our next best option. It's cost efficient and really does a great job. I feel a lot better using this filtration system and the water definitely seems cleaner. It's a great quality and very reasonable. Installation is very easy and we've had no leaks or other issues. Nice thing to have, it does make a difference.DMundstock

Product looks great easy to install but does it really do what is suppose to do ? I used a TDS measurement device to test the parts per million . When I use this to test my drinking water , have 5 stage Osmose water filter system and the device gives 0,09 parts per million what is good . Tap water has 339 , just measured it . And water out of shower with filter has 340 parts per million ?! So according to my test it does not filter the water ..Mark

My husband and I recently moved to Southern California from Minnesota, and I knew that there were two issues that I needed to get resolved right away – the incredibly hard water and the low water pressure. I have coarse hair, so we had a water softener back in Minnesota but there wasn't an option to install one at our new place in SoCal. This filter has been a godsend and my hair and skin is just as soft as it was when I was taking showers with a water softener. Terrible product. I wasted a complete day of my life trying to make this work, it never did, The gaskets were smaller and it kept leaking,the tank never filled up, it constantly made noises like a baby crying, and the constant dripping on the drain will make you crazy. i gave it a couple of days but it never worked. couldn't pay me either to put all this stuff in a box and return it. Does a good job of purifying the city water. Good taste. No chlorine smell. The fitting for drainage line did not work and had small leak at valve on top of pressure tank. Had to take off and re-wrap with Teflon tape. They recommended 6 turns. I used about 12.Harold

For the value and the reliability/consistency…..this one goes big. I live in the heart of Minneapolis so the tap water is….less than desired; I was spending hundreds of dollars on purified/spring water plastic bottles and gallons to keep my dog & I hydrated- talk about expensive (and harmful to the Earth)!!!! When I finally bought my Brita Basic Water adulteration System, I saved money, time AND i’m gaining rewards from MyBrita points system. My previously foggy, gross looking water from the sink is now crystal clear & tastes great. I've bought two of these filters over the past year, first the plastic one, then the chrome one. They have both failed in the same fashion. Water will begin leaking and spraying underneath the plastic collar that connects to the faucet. This isn't an issue with the seal with the faucet, the water comes from under the collar. At first I thought the problem was the rubber washer, but you can't buy just a replacement, you have to buy an entire new unit. So I did. The new unit failed after about 3 months of normal use. In an attempt to reduce the leak, I tried to tighten the collar a little bit more by hand, when I did this the plastic connector that holds the collar to the unit broke, and the entire thing snapped in two rendering it unusable. Brita seems to have purposefully designed a system with weak parts at the point of highest stress, ensuring that their products will break quickly and you will be forced to purchase another. Very frustrating that I wasted my money on this company twice.Mozingo

This filter has literally helped the quality of my life when I'm inside of my home so much I am so grateful for this brand. I have hard water and limestone build up and other different types of materials in my water and it really makes a difference in the quality of being able to use my water out of the faucet when I need to. I don't have to worry about fragments in my water when I use that or when I make something to eat when I need to make something to drink that calls for water. it by far saves me so much money not having to buy pre-bottled water at the store. I live in the country so it also saves me gas so I don't need to go to town to buy water. I've had my water filter installed for about a year now ever since I inherited my father's property and I am so grateful that I was able to get a filter that was not super expensive that I could afford due to the fact that I'm in the process of remodeling and fixing up the home. It's definitely something that I think everybody should have regardless if they have hard water or not. My water tastes smoothe and clear. It used to smell weird aswell due to the limestone and I also have a system with this brand that helps filter the water in my shower as well as the pipes to my washer. It is not often I write a review, but after installing the APEC ROES-50 I bought, I had to write one. I know good equipment from junk; I am an RF engineer, aircraft pilot and aircraft A&P mechanic here in Tucson, so I know good equipment from junk. Unfortunately when buying mechanical things I am usually disappointed. Most things do not live up to their advertisement hype and are junk. That is not the case with the APEC RO system. I am not an RO water expert, but I spent over 10 hours researching RO water systems for my house before deciding on the ROES-50. I bought this for under the kitchen sink and to feed my refrigerator ice maker. The RO unit came with everything I would have needed for a normal house. All I had to buy extra was extra tubing to connect my icemaker. I ordered it from APEC online. I must say the RO filter installation book was the best set of instructions I think I have ever seen. A clear color picture of the lay out, different color tubing for everything so you cannot get mixed up (this was really nice), clear easy to follow step by step numbered instructions from start to finish. And a clear easy to find phone number you can call if you have a problem. Even the quality of the paper in the book was excellent. It was not really necessary, but I added a permeate pump to the unit to make up for my low water pressure. I could have got a RO unit with the pump installed from the factory, but I saved money by getting this one and adding the pump myself, and they are easy to add on later. After installing everything it all worked and worked well. The permeate pump REALLY works and speeds up water production a lot. With my low 45 PSI water pressure into the permeate pump, the faucet open and storage tank empty, my ROES-50 makes 32 oz of water every 7 minutes, that is 51 gallons a day. Now having the faucet open all day is not real life use, but you could make 51 gallons a day if you needed to. My old COSCO RO unit only made about 10 gallons a day and dumped waste water 24/7. This new APES unit shuts off when the pressure tells it the tank is full. You can test this by turning the tank off (to speed up the test) and watching the waste water shut off after 30 seconds. The RO tank has a shut off valve on it so this can be done easily. And THAT was a nice touch my old RO filter did not have a shut off on the tank. If you have the permeate pump on yours you can turn the tank valve off, put the waste tube into a bucket so you can watch it, open the faucet and watch the RO water come out and watch the waste water pulse on and off into the bucket as the pump does its pumping. Then you can turn the RO faucet off and watch the waste water stop in 30 seconds. It is easy to test this way and see the pump work, and see the shut off valve shut the water supply off and see the waste water stop coming out when it thinks it is full. For an old MO boy that had to see it to believe it, this convinced me it all was working great. I highly recommend AEPC if you want a RO water system for the house. And, I highly recommend getting a Permeate pump if you have less than 50 pounds of water pressure, or want to increase the efficiency of your system. David F Branson Tucson, AZmarybranson

I installed this system on an existing small bar type sink that has it's own cabinet underneath. Installation went well, for me that's saying a lot as I'm not the handiest around. I followed the instructions after reviewing them entirely so I didn't get half way and run into a problem. The biggest issue I had was me failing to tighten the metal compression fittings down tight enough from main water source to system. The instructions explain what sequence to start opening the supply valves, both on the main and then the system (blue valve on the tank). But really make sure your connections ARE TIGHT. Having smaller tools like two good wrenches will help especially in a tight area. They include enough teflon tape for the install, but you might want one extra roll on-hand only if you need to back the fittings off and on for any reason. Teflon tape is good but is really meant to be used that first time you tighten the fitting. Loosening and re-tightening fittings will quickly wear it down. The faucet I actually have not yet installed in place, but its attached, working and is actually better quality than I expected. I'm storing the faucet assembly under the sink when done with it, for now. Actually I may not install it to the sink at all. It is kind of nice to be able to move itto the container. I have several two gallon containers that won't fit this small sink for example, so I just fill them at the counter or even on the kitchen floor. The drawback to this is that you need to drain the trapped water in the tubing after you turn the faucet off. I just use the sink for this. Misc Notes Output flow is good. I'm not taxing the system heavily (~2 gals/day) so if the tank is full the pressure is great and will fill a 1 gal. container fairly quick. On a 2 gal container it slows a bit near the end, when it gets to a trickle it's done for awhile and you need to let process again, this amount of time varies with the water pressure in your home. Mine is pretty good, not sure exactly what it is, but its north of 70 PSI for sure and it takes a good 2-3 hours to fill the tank. I can get 2 of 3 gallons in 1.5 hours! If yours is < 50 PSI I would recommend doing your research on possibly incorporating a permeate trap. Otherwise it will take longer to fill your tank and will result iin more grey (waste) water (which can be easily collected for use in the garden). If it's taking 5-6 hours or something longer to fill the tank, then your water pressure is probably too low and almost certainly not a problem with the system itself. The RO process for the system requires ~70 PSI as I understand it. I think this is even in the paperwork somewhere. BTW, the tubing is sturdy and won't kink but if the system is slow you'd want to check this. TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), this is why you're here yes? OK mine went from ~ 250 ppm DOWN all the way to ~ 6! I am very happy about this and it was my target TDS. I had been slogging to the store to buy water from a commercial RO system with the same TDS, but haha not anymore! PH (Potential Hydrogen or Acidity/Alkalinity), went from 8.0 to 6.7 which is a good improvement. The PH level of pure water is 7.0. Noise. The system, while in operation is very quiet for me. When I fill a container at some point I hear a small thud and the thing kicks into operation. I'm not hearing any dripping or water noises within the system at all but I know it's doing it thing. Packaging & Quality of materials is excellent! Everything was very clean, safely packed and wrapped or sealed where applicable like the food grade tubing. Customer Support is EXCELLENT! I had a question about pre-filters and the response was immediate, friendly and helpful. I really think it sets them apart from competition and you could not ask for better. This factor was a big part of my decision to buy from them, as again I'm the handiest dude around.highernrg

Be carful not to lose the tiny nylon tube inserts that are loose in the connections bag. Good value and good support when I needed installation advice. The RO probably removes more minerals than commercial RO water that gets remineralised. I would say the taste from our city water supply after going through the system is halfway between distilled and commercial RO water, so I ad a tiny amount of Himalayan salt, which may not be the perfect remineralization solution, but it works for me.Peter

I live in a dry climate with hard water and after the first shower my hair was noticeably softer and my skin wasn't as dry. It has been installed with a 1.5 gpm shower head and I wanted the filter to help make washing my hair with less water pressure easier. Less soap, fewer rinses. So far no issues with washing my long thick color treated hair. The filter was easy to install and took about 5 minutes and no tools. The directions were precise and there was ample tape included. Product is new so can not speak to filter change or longevity. Like that the filters are reliably available to at my local Home Depot store.Tara

I purchased the Coral water filtration system after reading the reviews on Consumers Report. I can confirm that the installation is very simple and it can be completed in about 20 minutes. The water tastes great and it will save me roughly $60 a month since I no longer need my original water delivery services. The filtration works quietly and the water pressure did not get impacted. The only complaint is that Brondell only provides the faucet in one color. My sink faucet is black, so the silver one provided did not match. I had to purchase a separate faucet elsewhere.Bruno

This is my first time under sink water filter system. I was searching everything online and chose to buy this product. Brondell has more unique design and better performance under sink water filter system but the price was not what I was looking for since it is my first time to buy water filter. This filter system satisfied my price range and the long filter life also satisfied my need. (I think filter life actually depends on how dirty my main water is) I compared filtered water and tap water. There are huge differences between them. Filtered water removed odor and bad chemically tastes from my tap water. I am very happy with it. Installation was very straight forward; but I wish they separate installation guide and owner's manual for easy navigation. Other than that, it took my 15-20 mins to finish installation. (You need to drill the countertop; prepare drill and drill bit, otherwise you need to go to hardware store to buy or rent them) Overall, I am happy with this product and next time I will try Brondell Circle under sink filter system.Jaden

We have been using Santevia for 2 weeks now, and I have yet to see, taste, or enjoy any benefits from this system. Aside from the fact that it looks like a giant plastic aquarium, it takes over an hour to filter a liter of water, and the end result leaves much to be desired for (i.e., water still blurry after repeated rinsing and cleaning of the filter elements). Other than individual drinking use, the Santevia filter system offers no practical value for household use.Alain F.

Two replacement filters were damaged and had sediment loose in the packaging. Santevia was good enough to replace each one. The third one was not damaged enough to not use, so it is in place now. In taking apart one of the damaged filters, I discovered that the membrane is held in place by a tight-fitting circular plastic piece into the "jar" with no adhesive of any kind. So in the mailing process, it easily gets bounced around enough that it comes loose. Is this a design flaw that can be remedied?Jan W.

Just Installed one on our shower head. It works but there was a leak from the casing. Nick with customer support was quick to send me out a replacement and was very good to deal with. In the meantime we are using the leaky in and have definitely seen an improvement in water smell and iron levels. Will purchase again.JodyT

We loved our first one, but the second one, we discovered there is a plastic loofah sponge inside, which is not very healthy for water running through it, or for disposing of afterwards. We bought these because they are marketed as eco-friendly with cloth bag, etc. so was disappointed to find plastic that is known to leech microplastics into the water inside the water filter… we wont' be buying these again.Amy B.

So, this review is supposed to be just for the water softener but I also wanted to commend Santevia's amazing customer service. But first, my water softener. It is my first time trying this product and I really enjoy using it. There is a measurable difference in the water quality and my skin feels soft and smoothe, not dry and itchy as before. I use body lotions after my shower or bath but I welcome the opportunity to skip this step when possible. The only two suggestions for improvement here is to firstly, engineer the product to be effective longer. For me, I take baths often so one or two months duration will be an expensive (albeit enjoyable!) venture. Secondly, can this also be engineered to be added to the shower head? Next, I want to commend Graeme for his excellent customer service. Parts to my pitcher broke and he quickly reached out – in response to my disgruntled complaint – to offer replacement parts. Initially, I hesitated to complain (it took about 3 months to take this step) since I thought to simply replace the unit but this is one of the changes wrought by the pandemic. I no longer simply replace or throw things away. I have an increased respect for my money and the environment. My pitcher works beautifully now and I am so happy! We orignally purchased the Santevia shower head filter, due to where we live the water is fairly hard. We seen this product and had to try it out. It works amazing, I noticed the difference right away when using. Especially for our new born, its great knowing we are using filtered water for their baths. There was one fault, that was the part that is supposed to fit around the head of the faucet was slightly to small. Was an easy fix, as it is a zip tie that holds the shape of where it gose over the faucet. I cut the zip tie, added a new one to make the whole a little bigger and now it works great. Would of been nice (more user fiendly) if the whole size was adjustable via a slip not rope or came with a larger opening or velcro or somthing of that sort to adjust the size if you were to swithc faucets. Other than that… great product!Dubzilla
