I have used the Comet Deodorizing Cleanser with bleach that comes in the powered form for close to a decade. It does an incredible job of cleaning the hard water stains from my bathtub. Due to the wonderful results, I decided to try the trigger spray bottle version. While the Comet Deodorizing Cleanser with bleach that comes in the powdered form provides excellent results, I wanted something a little more convenient. The spray bottles are easier to use as the solution is already diluted and allows for portability. Unfortunately, the results with the spray bottles were not as effective, especially with regards to cleaning the hard water stains in my bathtub. No matter how hard or how often I clean using the spray version, I just couldn't get my bathtub to look clean and shiny. The Comet spray bottle was effective at removing soap scum and lighter stains on my skin, but not as effective as I had hoped on the tougher stains. It is because of this that I have gone back to exclusively using the powdered version on my bathtub. In summation, the Comet Bathroom cleaner that comes in the spray bottle is good at cleaner lighter stains and would recommend it for disinfecting and cleaning the sink, but not for tougher jobs. I would rate this product 4 stars. The portability is a plus, it is good on light stains and for disinfecting but not as effective as I had hoped on cleaning the harder stains, especially water stains in my bathtub. Performance Not as effective as the Comet Deodorizing Cleanser with Bleach Powder. It didn't fare as well at removing the hard water stains in my tub. It was effective in cleaning soap scum, although I would only advise using this for lighter jobs.mw10

When I fry food I use a tall deep non-stick pan and even though I am careful I still end up with grease splattering on the range top, counter and backsplash of the range. Some spray on cleaners do nothing more than smear the grease making it even harder to remove. When I tried the liquid version of Comet I had already had previous experience with the powdered version to clean the inside of the tub. Even though this is marketed as a bathroom cleaner it can be used in other rooms of the house with amazing results. I don't consider this a general all purpose cleaner because it is on the strong side and can damage some surfaces; there is no need to wipe the area clean once you have used this so it is a little more convenient to use than the powdered version. The trigger styled spray bottle is easy to operate and there is a turn dial on the nozzle that allows you to close it completely so that it will not squirt. I have used this in the bathroom on the vanity countertop, on the inside of the toilet, in the kitchen for grease, in the basement to clean the outside of the washer and dryer and on the outside of the house to remove dried on egg (Halloween pranksters). For tough or large stains you can spray this on and leave it for a couple of minutes so that it has time to break down the grease or dirt; I use cleaning rags when I use this because paper towels (even the thick ones) just aren't strong enough to be able to absorb the Comet and remove all of the dirt. You are going to want to wash your hands after using this and avoid spraying it near exposed food; to play it safe when I use this in the kitchen on the counters I do wipe the area down with a damp rag just to make sure that any food that comes in contact with the counter won't come in direct contact with the cleaner. Your bathroom will have a pleasant scent (instead of smelling like disinfectant) , and still be sparkling clean! I clean homes and business and I have used pretty much every cleaning product I've come across with many mixed results. All the products promise great results and not all of them deliver on said promise. The works line of cleaning products absolutely work wonders on lime, rust stains and nasty build up with little effort after application. I have cleaned some pretty rough bathtubs and sinks that had really bad stains from hard water or rust and after using other products the stains were mostly still there even After using a stiff brush and lots of work. I like that the works only needs to be sprayed on and let sit for a few minutes to dissolve the stains. It literally turns the rock hard build up to a slime that can be wiped or rinsed away. It is a very strong chemical smell, but it's worth using once in a while for when there is build up. I don't use it every time I clean but I use it every now and then to reduce the build up. The works also makes a toilet bowl cleaner that works the same. I have seen toilets and tubs so bad it seemed like there was no hope for ever removing all the stains and after the works they are totally free from the yucky stains. Most cleaning products can't remove hard water and lime scale like the works. The only draw back is the very strong smell and it's not pleasant but I can deal with it because it doesn't need to be used a lot and once every few weeks of use isn't bad. I hate scrubbing stains so this is great for me. Spray it on and leave the room for a few and wipe it away and the stains are gone. O wouldn't recommend standing over the product while it sits because it probably isn't good for the lungs! I don't mind using it but some people can't get past the smell but I think the stuff in it that smells bad is what works so well. You have to pick and choose your battles with cleaning products! **The Works Tub & Shower Cleaner **is one product that I really wanted to work. The manufacturer claims this product 'removes stubborn rust stains; mineral deposits and soap scum in the bathroom'. The 'unique formulation is suppose to work great on showers, tubs, sinks, stainless steel and shower doors.' I agree that The Works can do an adequate job on lightly soiled items. Our tub has always been difficult in removing the ring after bathing. I didn't need a cleanser for a light job. Have so many products that can acheive this. The Works also list a long list of precautions on the back of the label..such as but not limited to not mixing with bleach or other household chemicals. Do not purchase this product. The trigger is so cheaply made that it will not stay attached to the 32 oz. bottle. It came off in the grocery store checkout line and subsequently twice more while I was trying to use it. I ultimately transfered the contents to my own spray bottle.

It really is Scrub free! I do still use my extendable shower brush to move the product around otherwise it can leave streaks but I am not scrubbing anymore. Also if people are coming over and there is no time to clean the whole shower just spray this over your fixture and rinse and it will look like your whole shower is clean. However, you want to use this with the fan on and a window cracked and close the door so the smell doesn't get into the rest of the house. I just pull my t-shirt over my nose and that works. But you do need to wipe the surface after letting the spray sit a few minutes. I say this because my teenage son understood it to mean that he only needed to spray the surface and rinse it off. This product is labelled as a commercial cleaner and is the best of the cleaners that I have tried for removing soap scum. Just spray it on and let it sit for a bit. Don't let it dry on. Be careful if you sprayed the base of your shower as this chemical is slippery! I then use a non scratch sponge to remove soap scum, hard water stains, calcium deposits, grime, and dirt. Rinse off the remaining solution. Using this often helps keep mold & mildew away. As a commercial cleaning product, it has a very strong odour. Make sure you have your bathroom ventilation fan on, and door open. My wife has asthma and can not cope with this strong chemical. Maybe that is her way of getting out of cleaning the showers…. The label states it can be used on: acrylic, fiberglass, ceramic tiles, porcelain, laminate, and Corian. Not for use on: marble, granite, terrazzo, or natural stone. It foams, but will slide down if there's any water on the surface and dries down really fast if the surface is dry. I have a shower/tub insert so the shower isn't tile, which may respond differently. It works best if you spray it on a dry, small section, then scrub around with a barely damp sponge and let it sit for about 60 seconds and rinse off. You have to rinse it off quickly after scrubbing or it'll dry down and leave a smear. Because of this you need a lot to clean the whole shower. I had high hopes for Clorox Green Works Bathroom Cleaner. I had used a couple of other products from this line and thought they worked well, but the bathroom cleaner just didn't quite live up to what I had hoped. Performance This bathroom cleaner worked okay but not great. The spray is thin and basically just runs right off of whatever you spray it on. I also took a lot more scrubbing than other products. I like to use more environmentally friendly products and sometimes even make my own, but this product just wasn't worth the additional expense. It did work well on my bathroom faucets and made them pretty shiny. The problem that I had with this cleaner is that it seemed to be diluted way too much. It took a lot more than I thought it should compared to other similar products. This definitely didn't work as expected even though I followed the instructions provided and left the product in overnight. I have an old toilet with a large tank, uses lots of water on every flush. I was a little skeptical that the recommended half bottle application would not be enough. The inside of the tank was horrifically discolored, very dark golden brown with noticeable rust stains around the sides. Even stirring the tank with a toilet brush or adding bleach did not do anything to remove the discoloration. I put in the recommended half bottle and figured it didn't do a full job of removing the discoloration, I would just do it again. It's easy to use. Just put in the product in the tank, give a good stir with the toilet brush, and go to bed. I was absolutely amazed at how clean the tank was in the morning. So impeccable the water looked as if the old tank was newly replaced. It was not a full 8 hours either, but closer to just 6 hours of sitting in the tank. I did not have to use another application because the first one was absolutely amazing. I had noticed before I used it that the water seemed to flow slower out of the tank when flushing. This was really the main purpose for buying it. I have to stay that it did improve the flow of water (probably years of gunk was clogging the tank's bottom draining system) out of the tank and I'm sure it's because the tank is very clean of all the sediment and calcification from years of use. Literally you can drink the water because it's as savoring as Alp's snow. (but don't try LOL) It was very much worth the money and I couldn't be happier with the positive detoxing results that came from this mesmerizing cleaner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!ISABEL

This product is amazing. My tank was nearly black on the inside (my sister thought it was mold) but i dont have a soft water system in my house. I belive it was mostly calcium and lime build up. Anyway. Poured half a bottle of this in the tank (the recommended dose per the directions on the back) let the tank refil with water and mixed it in with a sauce spoon (didn’t reall have anything else) a little over 12hrs later it was perfectly clean besides the couple spots my spoon couldn’t quite reach. Absoultely would buy again. Been a few months now though and haven’t had to use the rest of the bottle. May use again before my lease is up just because.Isabelle

I have used Zud since childhood, since our well water caused a lot of rust stains. I now have a well with a lot of iron in the water, and again use Zud for rust stains. It is becoming difficult to find powdered Zud, so I was happy to see it available at Do-It-Best Hardware. None of the newer products that claim to be tough on rust come close to comparing to the rust-killing power of Zud. Sorry if I sound like a commercial, but I swear on this stuff!Wolfox

Used according to directions on a newly-installed bathroom tub and tile. The spray went on so smoothly and wide; covered a large area in just a little time. Nozzle is tight without any leakage. Wiped off with a sponge and then rinsed with hot water. After it dried, I noticed a streaky film on the white tile and chrome, so I wiped back over the area with a microfiber cloth and that did the trick. Not sure I'd buy it again for that reason, but we'll see. Because we have a new bath, I can't say how it would clean a very dirty/grimy bath, but I suspect you won't be disappointed. The can is very large but easy to manage. I have nerve damage that extends from my elbows to finger joints, and I didn't have any problems using this product. I would recommend this to a friend with the warning that there's an extra step to remove the streaky film.Schwas are for Sissies
