I love how this Children's Bible brings God's plan to save his people to live. It retells the Bible stories and shows the connection to the coming rescuer Jesus. The stories show how we as humans try to keep our promises, but fail. God loves us anyway and continues to pursue us and provide for us and God always keeps his promises. He provided a way to sacrifice for sin in the old testament and the old testament was pointing to the coming of a redeemer, a forever rescuer. Jesus Christ is that rescuer. This hardback book is a new revised modern version of the already favorite Beginner's Bible. It is not actually a Bible but instead more of a story book Bible with bright illustrations that portray the stories it includes. The illustrations themselves although bright and colorful, seem a little artificial. I guess what I am not quite so fond of is that they all have these big bulging eyes. Otherwise, they are not bad. At the beginning of the chapter, beneath the title, there is a Scripture reference to advise where the story is found in the Bible itself. It includes a variety of stories from the Old and New Testaments such as: Creation, Moses, Joshua, David, several of the Prophets, the Birth of Jesus, His Miracles, and other timeless classic Bible tales. This Beginner Bible would likely be great for young children who may not understand the Bible itself yet,or those beginner readers who enjoy the Bible stories but struggle to read the extra words in the actual Bible. It does however, only covers select parts of the Bible, and the stories are simplified for younger children. At times the stories only cover about three pages, with an illustration on every page also. I received a free copy of this book from Fly By Promotions to review. We were really excited to add this Children's Bible to our bedtime story collection. On the plus side there were a wide variety of stories and over 500 pages. The illustrations keep my soon to be 6 yr old twins engaged. However the stories seemed to be a bit watered down and I would find myself having to explain or make connections that were not in the actual stories. When your child cannot read yet or understand the full content of the Holy Bible, we depend on Bible story books to share the Scriptures with them in a way they can understand. Many Bible story books, however, only touch on the larger and better known stories and do not give a great picture of everything that is included in a full length Bible. Nor is their wording very true to the original content of the Bible, changing some things to make it more "kid friendly." Well, this is not one of those. I have read several chapters from this Bible story book, and not only are the pictures the best I have ever seen in a children's Bible, but the content contained within is impressive, with an extensive list of Old Testament and New Testament stories, even some prophecy and Psalms. It is not the whole Bible, but it is a great tool to use, especially for those children who are unable to read yet. We now use this Bible to help teach our young ones in our church's children's Bible study, as the pictures keep them interested and the wording is not only a great summary of the real text, but written in a way that makes it easily understandable. Zondervan has created one of the most useful Study Bibles aimed at a young audience. Loads of visuals (the cover says over 700) and notes are what give this Bible significant value. The text is set against the center column; notes occupy the inch-and-a-half of the outside edges of the page. Though I did not do a thorough search, I could not find a page without at least one note, most had two. Some notes are longer – occupying an entire page. These pages tend to give extended details on places or individuals. Additional helps include an index (not extensive, but better than that found in most children's Bibles), a 12-page Bible atlas (indexed), and book introductions. The Bible would attract children of all ages, though the text would seem to be better suited to older elementary or middle school students. The title might discourage its use by the middle school child, but it the contents would make it a perfect fit. I suppose parents will need to evaluate how their own children will respond to the title if they are thinking of buying this for a middle school child. This book would make a perfect gift for a child entering fourth, fifth or sixth grade – they would then have the Bible and be accustomed to using it as they age. Kids who are old enough to read should be able to turn the pages without tearing but not for younger kids. It also has a story line where your child feels like they are a part of a youth group in which these 5 girls are in. Their characters are introduced to you at the beginning of the Bible. Throughout the Bible, the characters lead your child through devotionals. It has a dictionary in the back for words that are hard to understand. Important verses are highlighted. This Bible may be for the children but I tell you I really enjoyed it so very much that I will grab it off my desk again and read it. I have a lot of books I go back to that keeps my mind fresh and remember some things. I really enjoyed the pictures he drew just as much as the Bible it's self. I also enjoyed the story behind Mr. Cariello. You will too. I love the cover but I really wanted to read it because I get lost a lot of times in my other Bibles. This Bible brought a fresh look at God and our world and what happened in it all the way through to Revelations. I love love this Bible yes ok I know it's for kids but hey I am a big kid and at my age I can get by with being a big kid. I just love the way it's written and I feel it will get them little ones interested in our Lord. Hats off to Sergio Cariello. When I received this Bible in the mail I was like a kid that got a brand new bike. You will to be too I am sure of it. I think your kids will be so interested you may not have to tell them to be quite they may ask for this Bible time and time again to look at. This is a book that is Scriptural to the Holy Bible. It has where to find each story in the Holy Bible by book, chapter, and verse. It is set up in full color pictures with the comic book style. Although this is a book that is easy reading for children, any age group could benefit. This would be a good book for anyone of any age who is not familiar with the Bible stories. By reading this book, it could be a companion to reading the Bible and getting a better understanding. I never had this book as a child, but the leaflets that were identical to each page in the form of "Pix" were passed out in our Sunday School class, and I always found it be interesting and helped me learn many stories within the Bible. In my adult years, I recalled reading some of these stories in the Bible that were out of this book. I decided to purchase this for an adult family member who is a new Christian and does not read very well. They also have never heard the Bible stories or read them, so I thought it would be a great way to get them familiar with these stories with an easy understanding. A family member of mine also had a youth group in our church, and he used it to get the children to get familiar with the Bible. They ended up reading the whole thing by themselves before he could get through the book in his class.
