Upon first hooking up this tool I turned on the water valve on it to see how it functioned. It was impressive. I had a clogged up tank on my 32 foot Keystone Sprinter travel trailer. This was due to me not using the “proper toilet paper”. My black water tank level indicator showed me that the level would never empty below 2/3. I drained the tank outside as much as possible, (2/3), and left the emptying valve open. I them ran my water hose with this tool attatched to the end of it inside my camper. I depressed the foot valve and inserted it into the tank. I sprayed the upper portion of the tank to clean it as much as possible. When it began to fill up I allowed the tool to go down into the tank below the water line, creating a vortex of water. I could hear the swivel end spinning like a propeller. When the tank was completely full, I turned off the water supply valve located on the tool. I listened to the tank begin to slowly empty. Then, I heard it suddenly GUSH out of the drain! PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I allowed the tank to empty. I began to wash the inside of the tank with the tool, and did this for about 10 minutes. I shut off the outside drain and began to clean the tank inside again. When the water filled up the truck tank this time it was with CLEAR WATER! I drained the tank again & checked my gauge. COMPLETELY EMPTY!!!! This is one fine product.c.p.
I have had an "issue" with the black tank in our RV where no matter what I tried the tank indicator always read as being 2/3 full, irregardless of what I did or tried to show the tank as Empty. My review was based on previous purchases and experience with this product and sadly this last purchase failed miserably. I purchased this when I couldn't get RV Digest-It because I heard it worked great. I used it for a few months and it works ok but not great. I had the big powder container and flushed tank and started fresh with this product the amount it said to use and it did not always break down waste inside tank especially if it weather was to cold or to hot outside. I have used this for 3 years now- I use it in black and grey tanks. After dumping the tanks, I add 4 scoops to my 90 gallon black tank with at least 5 gallons of water… I also add 1/4 cup of blue Dawn dishsoap every other time. I add 2 scoops to my kitchen grey tank and it stops the food particles in there from getting smelly. If my shower/washing machine grey tank starts to smell- I will give that a soak with a couple of scoops and some Dawn. This is definitely a “must have” for healthy tanks.lucy.c

So, this stuff works well in our Thetford and we actually prefer it over others. The scent pretty good (not as good as being home) but most of all breaks down the yuk stuff and totally masks any odor…even when we empty the tank.
This works great for porta-potties. I have a Dometic 5 gallon porta pottie the family uses for camping. I do long three week off road, dispersed camping trips with the Dometic permanently inside the vehicle. Drop one of these paks in and you'll never smell a thing (aside from some of the fragrance). Since one pak is good for a giant RV waste tank, using one in a small porta potty is great – PROS= never smell a thing waste empties as blue water = you don't know what you are emptying since the entire contents have turned blue and have the fragrance of the pak.MAC

If you use these, follow the instructions and add whatever amount of water to the black tank along with them. It's also best to add prior to leaving campsite, so that the road motion and help agitate the water in the tank and help dissolve the membrane, so these don't sit in a coagulated mess on the bottom of the tank. It's trial-and-error. These aren't the best, they aren't the worst. But my bet is they are only one of 2-3 strategies you will need to use–especially during the hot, summer months–to keep your black tank from being smelly. **Be sure you keep the resealable bag sealed tightly! Humidity will be your enemy if you don't.**K.

Worked great, old 25 year old RV that people said of course your tank sensors in the black tank will never work right at this age. Used as directed (1/2 bottle) with some water, used toilet normally, and voila, sensors gave accurate readings again. Prior owners used chemicals in their tank and didn't attempt to clean the sensors, not sure if they used a spray wand when they dump tank like we do.S.
We bought out RV used and it always read 3/4 full even when empty. I used this product for 4 days while out of town and after rinsing the tank. When I finally drained the tank it was disgustingly dirty. This product worked. I used it in combination with the $10 valterra sprayer also sold on Home Essentials Direct and now my black tank correctly reads empty.s.s.
We live full time in our RV in an RV Prak. We find that we need to clean the sensors about every 4 months due to that fact we aren't on the road so that water doesn't get a chance to slosh around. When the gray water tanks are empty I use about half a bottle for each gray water tanks. Then we use the tanks as normal and allow the product to stay in the tank for at least 24 to 48 hrs. Then drain the tanks as normal. If you haven't used a sensor cleaner before then you should drain the tank(s). Poor the product down the drain and fill the tank(s) with clean water. DO NOT empty the tank(s) for at least 24 hrs. Then drain the tank. Depending on how much gunk is on the sensors you may need to do this twice.T.

We've been RVing for over 33 years and Full-TIme RV'ers now for just over 7 years. With being stationary for long periods of time the Black Water tank has a tendency to accumulate a thick and hard scale deposit over the bottom of the tank and in the drain elbow. Several times some of scale deposit has broken loose in sheets large enough to cover an block the tank drain. It has also caused the Black Water drain valve to leak when pieces of the hard scale builds up on the valve blade, causing the rubber gasket to wear down/break apart. EXTREME CLEANER is the only product that I've tried that has broken up the scale deposit enabling it to be flushed out with a normal clean-out. I've glad that we found this product.KMarshall

This is a great product! I used it for a few months and never had any odors, but I changed to another brand recently for a lesser price. First of all, when these work they are pretty useful. That said, I bought 2 (one for black water and one for grey) and I tested the spray nozzles on my garden hose before installing. Only one seems to spin fairly regularly, and even that one locked up on occasion. The one that was locked up from the beginning did spin if you twisted it with your fingers to give it a push, but that's obviously going to be impossible once it's installed. I chose to install them because even if they aren't spinning, they spray water in an almost 360 degree dome of water, so I speculate that even if they're locked up they will help dislodge solids and give your tanks that extra rinse we all need. That said, this unique concept of a product is fatally flawed and does not work reliably as advertised. Oh and, like others – the clear hose that comes with it was also kinked bad – on both of them – which restricts the flow of water quite a bit. It's an admirable attempt by Camco, but similar to other products from them – it's hit or miss on the quality of manufacturing and the effectiveness of an advertised feature set. Purchase with caution, or just settle for the non-spinning versions from either Camco or other vendors. Another word of caution – pre-drilling the holes for the mounting screws on your tanks is not recommended even though the instructions recommend it. Your tank material is usually a soft plastic, and the screws strip the holes easily. Pre-drilling does not help. Plan on using a lot of silicon to make sure it stays on!D.
My old tank rinser on my 1998 Fleetwood Bounder had plupped up and stopped working. I replaced it with Camco Torando tank rinser. Due to the difference between the old and new, the hole had to be enlarged. My tank was a form of polyeurthane so enlarging the hole was simple. The hole pattern was not the same so I used self tapping screws to secure in place. I used silicone for the seal as recommended. The hose that was supplied was long enough and no shorting of it was needed. Make sure the hose clamp is tight on the fitting. The unit spins once the water is supplied. My only concern is over time, the plastic to plastic swivel will wear and fall off. The Torando tank rinser works great. I would recommend it for ease of installing.samsrv
The original design used a plastic female hose fitting that would get brittle and break after a few seasons = bad. However, the twirling nozzle head ALWAYS twirled = good. The new design uses a metal female hose fitting = good. However, the nozzle head may or may not twirl = bad. Comparing side-by-side, the original design had much tighter fit tolerances. The premise on how the nozzle rotates relies on jetting action against the tank walls and the eccentrics, the plastic ears on the nozzle head, to keep it moving. Well, will the new design's loose tolerances and if you have a long, but shallow rectangular tank where the rinser was installed on one of the long sides, when the main jets align parallel to the tank length it stops spinning! Being an engineer I did a little workshop re-balancing of the nozzle head to work with my tank versus leaving a dead rinser in it to just patch the gaping hole. Camco, you used to have a stellar rinser functionally but with poor durability. Now you have a lousy rinser with good durability. Perhaps it's time for a third generation combining the positive traits! It doesn't take much to fix the problems, but likely will need your tooling to change to make them.R.

Instructions: (1) Close nozzle valve on Blaster. Connect Blaster between sewer hose and RV's dump connection sewer outlet. (2) Empty black water tank then grey water tank. Leave Blaster connected with waste valve open. (3) Connect black vacuum breaker between faucet and water hose. (Always use a vacuum breaker with the Blaster to avoid fresh water contamination. Always use a water hose marked not for drinking water use such as Camco's 22990 Rhino Grey Water Hose.) Connect other end of water hose to threads on side of Blaster. (4) Waste holding tank gate valve must be open for this step. Turn water source on. Turn the Blaster's nozzle valve on. Rinse tank until water runs clean. I bought one and used it a few times. The shut off valve was leaking and would not shut the water off and then would drip if you took the hose/check valve off. This season I bought a new one. Did the same thing the first time I used it. You can’t replace the valve so it looks like I need to buy an in-line valve and install it on the rhino blaster so it doesn’t leak when I take the hose off. Not impressed.RickS
This works great for ensuring your black tank is clean and empty. The clear pipe allows you to see when the water is running clear and the hose connector, even though it doesn't point directly into the black tank, does a great job at flushing it out. It has helped with a blocked sensor in our black tank as well.Marc M
This was great the two times it worked properly. The in-spray valve did not function (would not shut off) the third time it was used, and the fourth (LAST!) time that same connection leaked onto the ground, both when spraying from the hose attached and when the waste was pouring out of the tanks. yuk.
