But I bought it to relieve some back and shoulder pain resulting from reading in bed at night and holding 500 page books (or the iPad) over my head for long periods of time. I just get into this fine book holder. IT is fantastic. You have a knob at the back that allows the book to be read to rise to full height or at an angle that is suited for better reading. Just close the little tab and put your book on the stand. I was very skeptical about the thickness of a book on this stand. The photo showed a larger book on the book holder. I placed a 476 page book on the holder and was able to read to the very end of the book without having to hold pages that did not fit behind the tines. I just get into this fine book holder. IT is fantastic. You have a knob at the back that allows the book to be read to rise to full height or at an angle that is suited for better reading. Just close the little tab and put your book on the stand. I was very skeptical about the thickness of a book on this stand. The photo showed a larger book on the book holder. I placed a 476 page book on the holder and was able to read to the very end of the book without having to hold pages that did not fit behind the tines. The tines are moveable and will move with ease to accommodate any size book. Fantastic, I am going to order another one. Thanks, achvyhdachvyhd
