I'll start by saying I bought about 30 pairs of these. These are by far the sturdiest bookends I've ever had. But 1 single paid costs the same as 12 pairs of "regular" bookends. The big selling point of these, is the size (very tall), the weight (feels like a pound each) and the non slip coating at the bottom. I use these not just as book ends, but also on large bookshelves (24" and more) every 12" or so. I've found this keeps books propped up when you take one out and keeps everything lined up nicely! Definitely overkill for regular books, but almost necessary for oversized art books and hard covers. The thin ones tip over and slide all over the place. These hold up super solid and prevent books from sliding or tipping. I will say that of the 30 or so pairs, about 2-3 have come a bit TOO bent and needed to be returned/replaced.M.

It's been a real struggle for me to get my heavy looseleafs standing up on my bookcase shelf. I already had bookends, but the shorter ones just kept sliding away so the stuff fell over. I got these with the felt bottoms. It does make it a BIT hard to adjust them, 'cause once they're on the shelf they don't like sliding under all the books. But heck, that's what keeps them supporting the books once they're in place! My hubby kept exploring different stores (and I mean going out and exploring) and never decided. I was super glad to find out that these book ends have four rubber gripping feet on each one. My first door stopper came from Heart & Hand with Magnolia, two years ago. I kept asking for more of those but has to settle foe these small bookends that can hold a door. I’ll try to attach some leather straps to them so they function in the same way as the original door stopper. The shipping package was careless, just the bookends with no bubble wraps, no tissue, no paper, of course they have small dents, both of them. These remind me of the old-school bookends libraries used when I was a kid. If you've had any experience with them, you'll know exactly how these work. And they work well. Just place them on an even surface and put your books between them. It's just that easy. I bought two pairs to start with. I bought a pair of these for my bookshelves. I didn't end up using them for the shelves I intended – they weren't large enough and couldn't hold my large sketchbooks up – but I did end up using them for other, smaller shelves, where they work great. There are other sizes available, so I would be mindful that you're getting the right set for your space, but if you are you'll be good to go. I didn't realize there was a little sort of lip that extended inward towards the books. It helps the bookend be sturdy and hold the books in place, but it means it's much easier to put the bookend in if you first take out the last couple of books in your shelf.Darwin

These are basic book ends but they work very well for what I need. My books weigh 40 lb and I was having trouble finding book ends sturdy enough to hold them up. These work out perfect. When I received these I was extremely excited because they are the perfect bookends to put on my built in nook shelf. However they are different heights and also they have been cut crooked. Idk if I’m the only one having this problem but Crate and barrel sent me a replacement and the replacements were in-fact worse and the marble was dirty looking not nice and white like all the other reviews! Now idk what to do. I definitely don’t want to keep them but I really wanted these to work, so I’m not sure if I should try and reorder a third time or not.
