I first encountered PON in 2006 and started reading it then. Once you read this book you can't go back to your old ways of being, well you can but you are not "unaware" any longer so it makes it hard to live in the old way you are used to. I struggled with it as all who start reading do, It plants a seed and with your cooperation it grows. You will struggle with it as all do, some people more then others, then with cooperation, determination and consistency your world changes. You're view points of the world change, the way you deal with challenging people and situations changes. You are now cooperating with life and life is able to now help you. I also found doing around 10 minutes of meditation at the start of my day gets me "dialed in" to practice living in the now all day long. I was a total mess in 2006, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But it's 2018 and I'm the healthiest I've ever been cause of Echkart Tolle and his books. I'm ontop of the world, and I'm at peace with life, It's down right Awesome! Buy It! It's the best thing you can do for yourself and those around you. I will preface my review by saying that these type of books are generally very polarizing: either you love it because the message speaks clearly to your heart, or you're compelled to prove it inaccurate because it does not. Having said that, I truly love this book because it has the special ability to always put me in that state of amazement whenever I read it. I have read it beginning to end, but I really use it to help me enter the 'now' by reading just a few passages. For me, it does not matter which passage, I can literally open any page and read a few lines, and I am there. Even thinking about this book relaxes my mind and puts me in that state. For that, I consider it very special. This is probably the 5th or 6th copy I am buying, because I keep giving them away. I don't claim that this is the only book that can do such a thing, but it does for me. I was surprised by how tiny this book is. It's more of a booklet than an actual book but don't let its size fool you. Tozer packed a powerful Spiritual punch in under 80 pages. This little book will not let you walk away untouched and unconvicted. Tozer discusses the reasons why Christians are not living to their Spiritual fullest, why believers are dead and indifferent to the Holy Spirit. But he answers with what we can do about it and how we can have revival today. This little bomb is not for the easily offended, it is for those who are willing to listen to the clarion call. He makes a strong claim for Christian obedience which will probably step on some toes but no apologies. This book is for the mature Christian hungry for meat, not milk. Some of my favorite quotes from the book: "To escape the error of salvation by works we have fallen into the opposite error of salvation without obedience." "To the casual observer today of the religious scene today, two things will at once be evident: one, that there is little sense of sin among the unsaved, and two, that the average professed Christian lives a life so worldly and careless that it is difficult to distinguish him from the unconverted man." " We can have feeling without faith, it is true, but we can never have faith without feeling. Faith as a cold, unemotional light is wholly unknown in the Scriptures." I was excited to find one of the spreads in this deck was an interview spread where you got to know the cards, which allowed me to get a sense of them right off the bat. The other spreads and their uses are interesting as well. Care has been taken in showing you what you can use them for. Really enjoy the artwork on them and the information that comes in the book is great. Really glad these caught my eye and I purchased them. Although the research into the power of group-mind concentration is extremely well researched and documented i felt that there was little information on joining or creating a group of eight meeting after all that is what the book title suggests is what the book is all about. Lynn obviously has gone to great lengths over a considerable length of time in world-wide research both on her own as well as utilizing the knowledge gained by other research bodies and she is to be commended for that. Some 15 years ago i did a little experiment using 3 pots equally filled with rice and water and documented the effect over 10 days. One pot was placed on a piece of paper with "love" written on it, another was placed on a piece of paper with "hate" and the third "ignore". The result was amazing to observe and i think that a few such little experiments like this when carried out by the readers will have a greater impact upon the readers as to the power of something 'out there' that we don't really understand, as yet. It is like the old adage "Tell me and i will listen, show me and i will watch but demonstrate and i will buy" I did find the book absorbing and difficult to put down so that is something for me as i am not normally a book reader. So to sum up, yes i would recommend it but it is not really coming to any conclusion or enough insight as to the Power of Eight and the website is not very easy to navigate or use either.normantwentyone
