Reviews:
In theory it sounds easy but if you've been ill for ages implementing it is tricky! Gets your brain going and you need to be a bit open minded, but if you've bought it then it suggests you are already looking for some answers to issues in your life. Over thinking things (past and future) is the problem but this makes you think also! Hopefully I'll get the hang of it eventually! Voice and delivery can sound a little dry on the CD (don't fall asleep) but it's all useful information for life.ltrl
Anyone who has a desire to improve their life should most likely start on the inside… inside themselves. The path is not difficult, but it takes time. In my opinion, time well spent. Eckhart Tolle has boiled spirituality, the path to enlightenment and the next evolutionary step for human kind down to a followable process. However, this process must become a way of life. Again, my opinion is that in order for something so deep and foreign to our mental makeup to become integrated and practiced as a habit or way of life it has to be repeatedly instilled. Reading a book once can not do this. And few of us have time to read The Power of Now enough to integrate the learning. The answer is cds. Play them repeatedly and often. Instill the Power of Now. Live it. Become enlightened. What better way to in-joy this lifetime?gryphonprojects
I LOVE this!! I bought this copy for a friend. I've had my copy for about 8 years and there are tracks I've literally listened to dozens of times. I have learned SO much that has helped me stay in the Now, let go of much of my mind chatter, and live a life with much, much less anger and hurt. I CANNOT recommend this more highly.michaelflyinghamsters

Although the journey is challenging, eckhart tolle offers simple language and a question and answer format to guide us. the words themselves are the signposts. indeed, access is everywhere available. these access points, or portals, can all be used to bring us into the now, the present moment, where problems do not exist. many of us will find that our biggest obstacle to this realization is our relationships, especially our intimate relationships. the result? real communion between self and others.
Reviews:
I first encountered PON in 2006 and started reading it then. Once you read this book you can't go back to your old ways of being, well you can but you are not "unaware" any longer so it makes it hard to live in the old way you are used to. I struggled with it as all who start reading do, It plants a seed and with your cooperation it grows. You will struggle with it as all do, some people more then others, then with cooperation, determination and consistency your world changes. You're view points of the world change, the way you deal with challenging people and situations changes. You are now cooperating with life and life is able to now help you. I also found doing around 10 minutes of meditation at the start of my day gets me "dialed in" to practice living in the now all day long. I was a total mess in 2006, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But it's 2018 and I'm the healthiest I've ever been cause of Echkart Tolle and his books. I'm ontop of the world, and I'm at peace with life, It's down right Awesome! Buy It! It's the best thing you can do for yourself and those around you. Also buy "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle and "Miltons Secret" he wrote it for children. Enjoy this book and learn to enjoy life!.usa_emporium
I have offered this book to twelve personal friends (thus far….) Three of them, without communicating with the other individuals, have come to me and said that it was, "the best gift anyone (inside or outside of their family) has ever given to them." I had nothing to do with the book – but continue to feel that I am pointing folks in the right direction. If you're reading this – you were supposed to… I hope this note / book will help you too.lfhunt1
I will preface my review by saying that these type of books are generally very polarizing: either you love it because the message speaks clearly to your heart, or you're compelled to prove it inaccurate because it does not. Having said that, I truly love this book because it has the special ability to always put me in that state of amazement whenever I read it. I have read it beginning to end, but I really use it to help me enter the 'now' by reading just a few passages. For me, it does not matter which passage, I can literally open any page and read a few lines, and I am there. Even thinking about this book relaxes my mind and puts me in that state. For that, I consider it very special. This is probably the 5th or 6th copy I am buying, because I keep giving them away. I don't claim that this is the only book that can do such a thing, but it does for me. I can also totally understand if you think it's a bunch of crap, but I can't deny what it does for me, and maybe in the end that's truly what's important.omni_deals
3. Falling Upward: A Spirituality For The Two Halves Of Life [Book]
Product Details:
A fresh way of thinking about spirituality that grows throughout life in falling upward, fr. richard rohr seeks to help readers understand the tasks of the two halves of life and to show them that those who have fallen, failed, or "gone down" are the only ones who understand "up." most of us tend to think of the second half of life as largely about getting old, dealing with health issues, and letting go of life, but the whole thesis of this book is exactly the opposite. what looks like falling down can largely be experienced as "falling upward." explains why the second half of life can and should be full of spiritual richness offers a new view of how spiritual growth happensloss is gain richard.
Reviews:
In my view there was an excessive amount of words used to get the message across. The main message could have been writen in a chapter rather than a book.Peter
It is truly inspiring. Yes its quite intense reading at times and some passages you have to re-read to get the best from them but its well written and certainly thought-provoking and reflective. No matter what (or no) religion you follow you will find this worth reading.becky4004

This book will open your eyes to what's actually happening around us and inside us. It's not too heavy reading which can sometimes be the case with Deepak but his books are nevertheless compelling. This book can be picked up and read from any chapter and I really enjoyed it.dlaw9600
A book of effectively 7 chapters that will change the way you live and think. I would compare it to 'The Tardis', it's a small book on the outside but inside is a whole universe to discover about yourself and the way you choose to live your life.i-was-only-jooking

Reviews:
This is one of the best books ever written. Chambers was a true prophet of God. Like the Bible, the truths written in the text are ageless. The book expands on many of the scriptures of the Bible to the deeper spiritual levels. This would not be a book for new Christians, but for Christians who have walked with God for a while and are seeking to become one with Him. If you are serious about making a full commitment to God, this is the book for you.ralphandbeau2011
It can be a great QT book for people who can only spare 5 minutes a day. Though it is a short page read, it is quite profound in a simple kind of way. For a new believer, I think this book will help him/her understand the "relationship" factor between the reader and the Christ. For the seasoned believer who may have lost their way because of doctrine and therefore, it has caused an heartache, this book can help you feel Jesus the way you first met Him.ablelife
This book gets you closer to God and helps you understand what a relationship with God truly is. Chambers was a man of God in a deep and profound way. Charles Stanley said that this book was one that had the greatest impact on his life after the Bible. Chambers makes you want the deep relationship he has with God, He inspires and motivates you to be a different person. When I first read this book years ago, I marked passages and had ? there. I didn't "get" those things, but I knew I wanted to. Over the years, I have read and reread this book and the ? go away and I am blessed.ibsmiley

This book is very good for dealing with emotional issues. I highly recommend it for a Christian small group study. I was able to lift some things off of my chest as a result of this book, and I'm only about half way through the program!volvoluvah-1
This is has opened up a whole new way of relating to God for me. I wish the author would write a whole series of these books! I have most appreciated the way the material has stimulated me to sit before the Lord and the awesome realizations that have come to me as God has brought the words of various Bible verses and and Christian songs to me during those times. I am recommending this material to many of my friends. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. The regular book is awesome too. Reading each chapter before each section of Day by Day makes Day by Day all the richer!Colleen J.

I am a fan of Deepak Chopra so this book is naturally appealing to me. The author does a great job of sharing his wisdom that can be used throughout my lifetime and into the next.mida-gallery
Deepak always inspires me, but I will say I had a hard time relating to this book. You would have to know the story of Merlin the Wizard and King Aurther to relate to this one. I bought it on Audio Book, so I might have been able to get more out of it then most. I still give it a thumbs up for the most part…randomrarefinds
This was about the 15th time I've purchased this book. I keep giving it to friends and family when I see or think they could use a helping hand to ground themselves. It is the best how to live life with inner peace and understanding. If you feel your brain and heart is flying around like a bb in a tin can. This book will give you the information and insight to sit back take a break and just smile at the fact that now finally… I get it !! this is the same review I gave for The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. But it is the truth really.smann1128
8. This Here Flesh: Spirituality, Liberation, And The Stories That Make Us [Book]
Product Details:
New york times bestseller – in her stunning debut, the creator of black liturgies weaves stories from three generations of her family alongside contemplative reflections to discover the “necessary rituals” that connect us with our belonging, dignity, and liberation.“ this is the kind of book that makes you different when you’re done.”—ashley c. i believe that is what my father wanted for me and knew i would so desperately need: a tool for survival, the truth of my dignity named like a mercy new each morning.” so writes cole arthur riley in her unforgettable book of stories and reflections on discovering the sacred in her skin. in these deeply transporting pages, arthur riley reflects on the stories of her grandmother and father, and how they revealed to her an embodied, dignity-affirming spirituality, not only in what they believed but in the act of living itself. writing memorably of her own childhood and coming to self, arthur riley boldly explores some of the most urgent questions of life and faith: how can spirituality not silence the body, but instead allow it to come alive? in this indelible work of contemplative storytelling, arthur riley invites us to descend into our own stories, examine our capacity to rest, wonder, joy, rage, and repair, and find that our humanity is not an enemy to faith but evidence of it. at once a compelling spiritual meditation, a powerful intergenerational account, and a tender coming-of-age narrative, this here flesh speaks potently to anyone who suspects that our stories might have something to say to us.
Reviews:
I loved the way the book was broken down into one chapter per concept. It made it very easy to discuss with friends. This is one of the most thought provoking books on faith that I’ve read in ages. I’ve now purchased the book for 10 of my friends.Sydney

10. Paths To Power: Living In The Spirit's Fullness [Book]
Product Details:
Tozer begins this book, titled, paths to power, with a powerful statement about the history of the world and the role of the christian. "the greatest event in history was the coming of jesus christ into the world to live and to die for mankind." in paths to power, tozer makes a thesis (that god s plan) falls into line with this one simple and dramatically powerful event and then goes on to examine the state of the current church with its lukewarm moral convictions, its members who lack the power of the spirit and its administrators who work to pay bills and fulfill their weekly obligations rather than feed the flock and pay attention to shepherding their flocks. tozer inspires conviction to restore the church to its place of power, when it can be a moral force to be reckoned with. he states the compelling power of the burning bush that moses saw and tozer says, no one is afraid of mere ashes. this indictment of modern man s complacency is pungent and will hold the believer accountable of sloth and uninspired faith in the lord. this book challenges to live a more spirit-filled life. tozer reminds the reader that god s work is redemption and salvation, but it is our responsibility to repent and believe, and as a result of that, to obey the word of god. tozer offers a stern warning against excusing sin as an affront to god.

I was surprised by how tiny this book is. It's more of a booklet than an actual book but don't let its size fool you. Tozer packed a powerful Spiritual punch in under 80 pages. This little book will not let you walk away untouched and unconvicted. Tozer discusses the reasons why Christians are not living to their Spiritual fullest, why believers are dead and indifferent to the Holy Spirit. But he answers with what we can do about it and how we can have revival today. This little bomb is not for the easily offended, it is for those who are willing to listen to the clarion call. He makes a strong claim for Christian obedience which will probably step on some toes but no apologies. This book is for the mature Christian hungry for meat, not milk. Some of my favorite quotes from the book: "To escape the error of salvation by works we have fallen into the opposite error of salvation without obedience." "To the casual observer today of the religious scene today, two things will at once be evident: one, that there is little sense of sin among the unsaved, and two, that the average professed Christian lives a life so worldly and careless that it is difficult to distinguish him from the unconverted man." " We can have feeling without faith, it is true, but we can never have faith without feeling. Faith as a cold, unemotional light is wholly unknown in the Scriptures." "It may be stated as an axiom of the Christian system that whatever makes sin permissible is a foe of God and an enemy of the souls of men." I received a copy of this book from Moody in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.thechristianscribe

Reviews:
Faith building, encouraging life words, I am barely beginning to apply these lessons to living a life honorably and loving God with all my heart. God will keep me on track and by His Holy Spirit I will one day stand complete in His presence. A time consuming book, one to share with others!Rita H.
Rick Warren's book was for years simply a concept that I used by simply "ideizing" the title for "doing things on purpose" to meet a goal of good results. As I've gotten older, I have been becoming more of a Bible reader and a Church goer. Rick really delivers a multi-purpose toolkit with this excellent book. So far, I been using it as a daily reflections, a random study kit, and a source of inspirational ponder. (It's suggested as a "narrative through" as it were)diontheon21
I really enjoyed this book! I even had the study guide which was a nice touch. I am a reborn Christian and this gave me a lot of things to think about an craving to now look into. Reviews:
Well grounded in the most Holy Scripture, Apostolic Tradition, Church Fathers, and tried and true Catholic experiences of the Christian spiritual life.2937percy
It is a great guide for people who want to live a holy, prayerful life.Maria
Brant Pitre takes his readers through a logical explanation and sequence on the development of a spiritual life. The text is meaty, and should not be read hurriedly. Pitre uses a great deal of Scripture to back up his thoughts, as well as quotes from spiritual classics. I found the book to be educational and inspirational, and recommend it to Christians who are looking for more in their spiritual life. This is a book that will assist believers in moving toward maturity. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Introduction to the Spiritual Life from Image via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.Grams

19. Talking About God: Honest Conversations About Spirituality [Book]
Product Details:
"and if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. but do this in a gentle and respectful way" (1 peter 3:15-16, nlt).
Reviews:
Talking About God: Honest Conversations About Spirituality by Steve and Cheri Saccone teaches readers through observation, rather than directives, how to talk about God and share the Good News with people around them. Talking About God is not the typical book about evangelism or how to lead someone to salvation. The book begins with a prologue, is filled with lengthy conversations the Saccones have had with friends, and concludes with some notes in the afterward. At first, I merely observed the conversations, but by the time I read through a few, I began to glean nuggets of wisdom out of each conversation. One nugget example: We are partnering with God when we reach out to people with the message of salvation. It's too easy for me to think that if I just say the words perfectly, things will work out and I will get them to be saved as if I have control over anyone else's salvation… No, God prepares others and then brings us in and partners with us for the benefit of ourselves and the other person. Also, another nugget: Prayer laced through the conversations. As I previously mentioned, most of the book consists of the reader observing, rather than being directly instructed. However, the prologue and afterward do give some pointers. In fact, there is an intensive, almost overwhelming, over-two-pages-long list of Do's and Don'ts in the prologue. Fortunately, it's not required to memorize these as most of them fall under: (1) Engaging people who need to come to know God. (2) Treating the person with respect and dignity even when they may not agree with us. (3) Being emotionally honest. Talking About God by Steve Saccone and Cheri Saccone offers readers a different perspective than most books I've read on this subject. I found the book encouraging because the authors share their nervousness, insecurities, even occasional missteps and how God can use imperfect people to share the Good News of salvation. I think this book best fits with people who want to reach out to their friends, co-workers, and acquaintances who don't know God. It doesn't really address family members and the extra issues that can go along with that. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
