1. The Startup [Book]

Product Details:
In chris guillebeau's travel to over 175 countries, he has met two kinds of people: those like himself who have the time and income to follow their whims and who've created an entertaining and fulfilling life–and those who feel trapped. this second group wants what the first group has, but the big stumbling block is making money. because chris realized that the first group has knowledge to impart, he identified 1500 people worth emulating, and refining that further, he offers here the 50 most valuable and interesting examples of micro-business success. in nearly all cases, people with no special skills discovered a way to monetize their personal passions. it's about finding the intersection between what you like to do and what other people will pay for. you don't need an mba, a business plan, or even employees. all you need is a product or service that flows from what you love to do anyway, people willing to pay, and a way to get paid.

Excellent condition, like brand new.Charlie
Full of ideas for those looking for other streams of income. Although the title suggests leaving your current job, it can be used as ideas to supplement – although the time factor would have to be weighed up. It has lots of real-life examples and addresses practical issues. Quite an inspiring book, to get you thinking … !

Without a doubt, the single most informative book on the iterative entrepreneurial process. The contents of this book, if followed, replaces the needless suffering of failing to find product-market fit. Every entrepreneurship class I have ever sat in (Babson, RMIT, Swinburne) has at some point referenced the ideas contained in this text. Again, if followed, this book can easily replace an entire degree or masters…. Enjoy!Mattwastaken

5. The Startup: Reinvent The Way You Make A Living, Do What You Love, And Create A New Future [Book]

Product Details:
In the $100 startup, chris guillebeau shows you how to lead of life of adventure, meaning and purpose – and earn a good living. still in his early thirties, chris is on the verge of completing a tour of every country on earth – he's already visited more than 175 nations – and yet he's never held a “real job” or earned a regular paycheck. rather, he has a special genius for turning ideas into income, and he uses what he earns both to support his life of adventure and to give back. there are many others like chris – those who've found ways to opt out of traditional employment and create the time and income to pursue what they find meaningful. sometimes, achieving that perfect blend of passion and income doesn't depend on shelving what you currently do. you can start small with your venture, committing little time or money, and wait to take the real plunge when you're sure it's successful. in preparing to write this book, chris identified 1,500 individuals who have built businesses earning $50,000 or more from a modest investment (in many cases, $100 or less), and from that group he's chosen to focus on the 50 most intriguing case studies. in nearly all cases, people with no special skills discovered aspects of their personal passions that could be monetized, and were able to restructure their lives in ways that gave them greater freedom and fulfillment. here, finally, distilled into one easy-to-use guide, are the most valuable lessons from those who've learned how to turn what they do into a gateway to self-fulfillment. it's all about finding the intersection between your “expertise” – even if you don't consider it such — and what other people will pay for. you don't need an mba, a business plan or even employees. all you need is a product or service that springs from what you love to do anyway, people willing to pay, and a way to get paid. not content to talk in generalities, chris tells you exactly how many dollars his group of unexpected entrepreneurs required to get their projects up and running; what these individuals did in the first weeks and months to generate significant cash; some of the key mistakes they made along the way, and the crucial insights that made the business stick. among chris's key principles: if you're good at one thing, you're probably good at something else; never teach a man to fish – sell him the fish instead; and in the battle between planning and action, action wins. in ancient times, people who were dissatisfied with their lives dreamed of finding magic lamps, buried treasure, or streets paved with gold. this remarkable book will start you on your way.

Reviews:
Who knew we needed a sequel. A Wonderful addition to the characters lives. Although the first book made me sad I loved that there was hope at the end. To have a storyline/book where it truly is focus on Atlas and Lily was a fabulous added touch. I truly enjoyed the Theo character what a lovable grown up boy he was. I enjoyed the other subplot storyline that happened. This book was very realistic in the way it depicts what happens when a divorce mother begins dating and has to deal with possible fallout of the ex-husband not being okay with it. Another exceptional storyline by Ms. Hoover bravo to her.Ann-Marie B.
The Perfect Sequel to It Ends With Us This was such a perfect end to a story we didn t know we needed a sequel to. It Ends With Us ended on a perfect note and we kinda gather what was going to happen to Lily and Atlas. It Starts With Us gave such an incredible story a love story we needed to read. I loved it for so many different reasons Lily is a superhero! Atlas is perfection and Rile is in desperate need of someone who can help him I cant help but feel bad for him I know I shouldn t but I can t help it. Colleen you ve done it again and I can t recommend this book enough. 2 people found this helpfulYady S.
The uplift we all need I have read everything Colleen Hoover has written so I had been counting the days until “It Starts With Us” was released. Meanwhile I reread “It Ends With Us” to refresh my memory of the characters. (It made me realize that I want to go back and reread all her books.) I fell in love all over again with Lily and Atlas. It was a hard heartfelt read. “It Starts With Us” picks up where the first book ends and we readers not only wanted that we needed it. These books will hit home with many people and it will offer them encouragement and hope. And we all need that. It s an absolute perfect read and you walk away feeling content. We all need that too.KNH

There has been a revolution in urban transportation over the past five years—set off by start-ups across the us and internationally. sleek, legible mobility platforms are connecting people to cars, trains, buses, and bikes as never before, opening up a range of new transportation options while improving existing ones. while many large city governments, such as chicago, new york, and washington, d.c., have begun to embrace creative forms and processes of government, most still operate under the weight of an unwieldy, risk-averse bureaucracy. from his experience as a food-truck entrepreneur to a zipcar executive and a city transportation commissioner, klein’s career has focused on bridging the public-private divide, finding and celebrating shared goals, and forging better cities with more nimble, consumer-oriented bureaucracies. in start-up city, klein, with david vega-barachowitz, demonstrates how to affect big, directional change in cities—and how to do it fast. klein's objective is to inspire what he calls “public entrepreneurship,” a start-up-pace energy within the public sector, brought about by leveraging the immense resources at its disposal. klein offers guidance for cutting through the morass, and a roadmap for getting real, meaningful projects done quickly and having fun while doing it.

Very good informationluxiousglam
While I haven't finished reading the book, the material that is written is easy, like a step by step guide. He not only talks about his experiences as an entrepreneur, but how anyone can start up their own company. I would recommend that you take the book seriously and take notes. Some of the info may be a bit out dated, but the lessons from it will last for awhile. I recommend this book to anyone that is ready to start up their business but aren't sure what steps are needed. This book is a wonderful guide for everyone.firekovu
