My triplets had to read this for summer reading for school. They love to read. The best they could say about this book was "It didn't suck for a summer reading book." I asked each of them if they would have read this book just for fun, and their answers were a resounding "no." Reviews:
My 8yo enjoyed the first book, so he definitely wanted to read the sequel. He said he liked this book, too. He liked the characters, the plot of Roz getting back home and everything about it.Ashley S
Our eight years old son loves the first book. This one is great too, although he's in progress. He even asked me to read it… and I'm reading it.Damico
I don't like animal books or science fiction, yet Peter Brown's The Wild Robot Escapes is endearing. It speaks to the humanity in all of us without preachiness or condescension. It is a story of family and community. It's hard to imagine that I'd love a science fiction title for young readers, but after reading the The Wild Robot, I had to know what happens to Roz. Brown does not disappoint in this sequel, and I hope the series will continue.Kimber

This story is an absolute classic. I bought it to read to my year six students and they are loving it. The story is so well written and on my third reading I am still completely enthralled. A wonderful book to own. I can't recommend it enough!two red hens
I read this book as a child and loved it! Some of the passages are still very clear in my mind decades later. This is a fictional account of a boy who runs away from home to live alone in the woods. But the depth of story and the detailed account of his various survival techniques have made many question whether the story was true. Now that I have children of my own, I had to buy the book for them. Its a great book and I highly recommend it!butterrum
My 9 year old daughter loves this book. She could not put it down! This book is an excellent source of survival tips. It teaches kids to imagine "what if" situations, which prove to be beneficial as they grow into adulthood. I recommend this book to all!mrs.jefferson

Reviews:
I use the Spectrum Reading Workbooks for Grades 5 and 8 with the students that I tutor on-line. I own both the hard copies and the e-book versions. As students complete the exercises on-line, I check their answers with the hard copies. My students respond to the exercises very well. I am able to monitor the progress of the students and find appropriate lessons for skills that need to be strengthened. with use of the books, English grammar becomes a fun activity.Peggy G.
Comprehension help a must.TAMY C.
More attention needs to be paid to the style of question, e.g, inferencing, sequencing, etc etcLUKE O.

18. Wonder [Book]
Product Details:
Read the book that inspired the choose kind movement, a major motion picture, and the critically acclaimed graphic novel white bird.and don't miss r.j. palacio's highly anticipated new novel, pony, available now! i won't describe what i look like. whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse. august pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. starting 5th grade at beecher prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past auggie’s extraordinary face. beginning from auggie’s point of view and expanding to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others, the perspectives converge to form a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance. in a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

Reviews:
This was a Christmas gift to my 9 year old grandson. Truthfully, he is not a strong reader and a reluctant one. He prefers playing outdoors with his friends. His family saw the movie. He was telling me about the movie and then said, "I would like to read the book." We read the book together every day. He would bring it to me! I helped him with a few words, maybe one on each page. He would quickly turn the page to continue reading it. He has never before brought a book to me. It has been a struggle to get him to read even 10 minutes. This is a great story to share. I highly recommend it.CHERYL
An excellent book with a fantastic story. Children and young adults will love this endearing story. Thinking of differences that do not matter in the end, may prompt many to change their attitudes.
I don't know where to begin with this awe inspiring story! Auggie looks different from everyone else, very few people have what he does. Rather than be shameful, Auggie makes the best of his situation. Even when he got brought the down, he never stayed down for long. Every kid goes through teasing and embarrassment in school. This book emphasizes no matter what people think or say you control your actions and future.Briana
