Reviews:
The Artist Way is a wonderful book that gets you in touch with your artist child. The person that you were before you got corrupted by being older. It's an awesome book that I would definitely recommend. If your on a journey to find your purpose, this is definitely a book for you!!losruffryders
I bought the book for a class. What's interesting about this book is that a lot of it is common sense. We as people should want to better ourselves but we don't due to lack of confidence. I personally enjoyed the book due to it's talk of spirituality. I didn't find offense with it, however I do know of people in my class who were offended that Julia Cameron mentioned God as the person who gives us creativity. Overall, I would repurchase this book if I had to do it all over again.lita_harrington
As described. Used (20 years old!) but in good condition. It had a bend in the front cover but that was not a problem and I am working my way through the book. A bargain compared with a brand new copy.Anonymous

Great way to find/make time for ones self! Also is fun to work at.missdee57
If you are working your way through the book :The Artist's Way, then this is the help you may need. It certainly has all the tasks listed and room to write if you want to.peach565
I like the workbook because I find that her writing in the "Artist Way" doesn't relate to me. So just doing the tasks and questions on a daily basis and skipping her writing on the weekly subject matter I find more beneficial. Of course I am probably not getting as much out of it as I should but these tasks help me anyway. I learn about where my issues lie. It is an exploration of self and for that I am thankful.gaptoothsmile

This book makes learning how to draw beautiful flowers so easy with the step-by-step format. Easy to follow, great for a beginner.Leela
Being a homeschool mom, I'm always looking for different ways to spark my children's creativity and interest. For a long time, they've enjoyed drawing and illustrating as they learn. But all of us get a little frustrated with our own limited experience. So we decided to give this book a shot. Divided into three sections (flowers, vines and trees, other plants), there were a large variety of plants to choose from and each was sketched out in 6-8 easy to follow steps. I especially appreciated how the author drew guidelines in the beginning to get the symmetry, and then later filled in the individual shapes. The author also took the time to explain elements like line thickness and negative space, concepts that can be used in other realistic drawings as well. We love practicing our artistry and how to better illustrate these plants in our notebooks. I would prefer this book in print format, but the digital is nice as well. There is plenty in this volume to keep us growing and learning for some time to come. *Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Reviews:
I bought this book because it was required for a college course I was taking. Now that I have been actually using it I am sure I will keep it and add it to my library. It has a lot of visual aids in it to help you understand the subject. I find this very helpful because I am a very visual person and prefer to see something done before I try to do it myself. It's not excessively wordy like the other book I had to have for this class. Very clear and concise.peacefulpanda75
I had this book years ago and it was an assigned book for a class but it comes in very handy for beginning drawers and seasoned alike. The section on portrait drawing was especially helpful. The break down on the sections of the face, where to place the eyes, nose and mouth can save a lot of time and tears in getting a closer resemblance from the beginning. Over all I like the book. Some places I felt it was overly technical in the illustration, as in the the chapter on drawing the figure. I would have much rather seen more gesture drawing but this is not Mr. De Reyna's style. So, whether you are a beginner or someone who just draws for fun this book will give you a good foundation for very nice drawings.djsn53
I bought this book for myself. I love to draw and paint, but my pictures didn't look realistic. This book is very helpful. I only wish there was also a DVD that went with it. I am a very visual learner.reasa7738

This book was informative, but I didn't find it very helpful for myself. I guess I really am more than a beginner after all. I gave the book to my 7 year old grand-daughter because she loves to draw. I think it will work better for her.shopper712
I sent the book to my granddaughter. I haven't seen the book, but my daughter-inlaw liked it very much. She said that it was easy understand for all ages.jagartist1
