Reviews:
My husband and I read this to each other on a road trip across the country. We read it cover to cover and by the time we got home we knew every Mr Olympia, exactly what exercises to do and how many grams of protein to eat. A lot of the information we already knew but he presented the science in a way that improved our understanding. Suitable for the complete novice right through to those looking to complete. In fact any body who gives a hoot about their health and fitness would gain something from this book. If you want the latest fad in diet and exercise then this is not for you, if you want good old fashioned advice that works then but this book. Then read it out loud, doing your best Arnie impersonation.MrsBevo
It doesn't matter if you actually want to compete as a bodybuilder (I don't or is that 'can't'…) if you're interested in changing your body shape by lifting weights correctly this is the only book you'll need. Hours of Instagram scrolling will be cut out by the detailed, factual and interesting content in this book. If you want to work towards achieving a better body, who better to model yourself on than Arnold Schwarzenegger? It's not just one style of training either, Arnold offers several ways to train. Use this in addition to watching some interviews of his and you'll soon be hooked and developing your own workouts to challenge yourselves – or just follow his! Well worth it – I'll never need another workout book again. If this book wears out, I'll replace it with another copy. Excellent.shafei1
Have just started body building and found this book a wonderful guide, it not only covers exercises but also diet muscle building and overall well being. I'd recommend it to beginners or the more experienced .Ajax

Reviews:
This book is great. No complaints at all. It breaks down everything about your body's muscles. It describes in detail how everything works, and i mean everything. It gives 3 different 6-month workout plans, and describes the reasoning behind every part of each workout. It also lists and describes over 100 different exercises, most with multiple variations. This book is great and really is all you need to start bodybuilding, training, or just working out. This could keep you entertained in the gym for a long time. Definitely recommend before anything else.dswartz07
The most in depth and extensive book and how to workout properly. I describes each muscle group in great detail and has 3 different workout regiments (beginner, intermediate and advanced). It is a Men's Health product and they always seem to deliver, great colored pictures and throughly explains each and every exerecise. I have been weight training for about 5 years now, these workouts are some of the toughest I have ever done.gregscraven
The book starts out with basic muscle physiology which is always good to know. Then it moves on to five chapters of exercises. They are divided up into muscles that move the shoulder muscles that move the elbow and wrist muscles that move the spine muscles that move the hip and finally muscles that move the knee and ankle. With that knowledge in hand the book then describes the workout programs. Included are routines for beginner intermmediate and advanced lifters. A pretty good guide to weight lifting I think it will benefit lifters of all experience levels. And I have to say of all the weight lifting books on the market this one definitely has the best pictures of all time. In fact they should enter some of them in photography contests. Also recommend Treat Your Own Rotator Cuff" if a shoulder or rotator cuff problem is keeping you from lifting weights. "a reviewer

I dropped about 16kg in 4 months, but stopped losing weight after that, no matter what I did. I tried to find the answer from friends in the gym and online , but the methods was not really giving me much help. But I found the way to help me out from this book, which I doubted it at the beginning. It may give you some help if you are in the situation as me.Brucee

16. Joe Weider's Ultimate Bodybuilding [Book]

Product Details:
"this massive and authoritative master blaster book is the greatest bodybuilding book ever written, primarily because it is firmly based on the training principles of the weider system of bodybuilding, which have been followed by literally every bodybuilder in the modern history of the sport. i began developing my weider system back in the 1930s and continue to refine and add new weider training principles to it. you can rely on the information i present in this book to improve your physique. good luck!" — joe weider on instinctive training "one of the most fundamental secrets of successful bodybuilding is getting to know your body and how it reacts to various training and nutritional practices. unless you have finely honed your instinctive training ability, it will take many weeks, even months, to evaluate each experiment. it definitely pays to master the weider instinctive training principle." — franco columbo, two-time mr. olympia on progression "the key to building massive, powerful muscles is to doggedly increase the training weights you use. but it is only good to increase training poundage if you do so in perfect form. there is a direct correlation between the amount of weight you use with perfect biomechanics in an exercise and the mass of muscles that move that weight." — lee haney, three-time mr. olympia on muscle confusion "once i reached the advanced level of bodybuilding and started entering competitions, i discovered that i quickly became bored with a set training program. i began to use the weider muscle confusion principle, changing to a new and more challenging routine every time i came into the gym to bomb a particular body part." — lou ferrigno on supersets "since supersets constitute a big jump in training intensity, i always tell bodybuilders new to the weider supersets training principles to experiment with supersets, compounding movements for the biceps and triceps, or forearm flexors and forearm extensors." — albert beckles, ifbb world pro grand prix champion

I bought this book for my 15 year old son. It has fantastic, thorough information on the how-to's for pretty much everything. But we are both put off by the images of over-sized men. He would be more inspired by images of average sized body builders who look 'normal', not like the Hulk lol.akella-la
Pretty much every thing you ever wanted to know about bodybuilding and weightlifting.Very informative well laid out. A must for beginner to expert bodybuilder/weightlifterjr1138773

Reviews:
The content of this book is a real and scientific way to build muscle. The other stuff out there (like magazines) are mostly for show. People who are serious about building muscle read books, not look at magazines and gimmicks. Everything so far in it is spot on accurate.scott_bay06

I practised dynamic tension in my 20's and found it to be very effective, but long since passed-on my books relating to this particular form of exercise. This book provides a great overview, but the photographs are not great quality, and they are not numbered, hence essential to read the accompanying text and correlate with the images.ttrider469
