In theory it sounds easy but if you've been ill for ages implementing it is tricky! Gets your brain going and you need to be a bit open minded, but if you've bought it then it suggests you are already looking for some answers to issues in your life. Over thinking things (past and future) is the problem but this makes you think also! Hopefully I'll get the hang of it eventually! Voice and delivery can sound a little dry on the CD (don't fall asleep) but it's all useful information for life.ltrl
Anyone who has a desire to improve their life should most likely start on the inside… inside themselves. The path is not difficult, but it takes time. In my opinion, time well spent. Eckhart Tolle has boiled spirituality, the path to enlightenment and the next evolutionary step for human kind down to a followable process. However, this process must become a way of life. Again, my opinion is that in order for something so deep and foreign to our mental makeup to become integrated and practiced as a habit or way of life it has to be repeatedly instilled. Reading a book once can not do this. And few of us have time to read The Power of Now enough to integrate the learning. The answer is cds. Play them repeatedly and often. Instill the Power of Now. Live it. Become enlightened. What better way to in-joy this lifetime?gryphonprojects
I LOVE this!! I bought this copy for a friend. I've had my copy for about 8 years and there are tracks I've literally listened to dozens of times. I have learned SO much that has helped me stay in the Now, let go of much of my mind chatter, and live a life with much, much less anger and hurt. I CANNOT recommend this more highly.michaelflyinghamsters

Reviews:
I first encountered PON in 2006 and started reading it then. Once you read this book you can't go back to your old ways of being, well you can but you are not "unaware" any longer so it makes it hard to live in the old way you are used to. I struggled with it as all who start reading do, It plants a seed and with your cooperation it grows. You will struggle with it as all do, some people more then others, then with cooperation, determination and consistency your world changes. You're view points of the world change, the way you deal with challenging people and situations changes. You are now cooperating with life and life is able to now help you. I also found doing around 10 minutes of meditation at the start of my day gets me "dialed in" to practice living in the now all day long. I was a total mess in 2006, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But it's 2018 and I'm the healthiest I've ever been cause of Echkart Tolle and his books. I'm ontop of the world, and I'm at peace with life, It's down right Awesome! Buy It! It's the best thing you can do for yourself and those around you. Also buy "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle and "Miltons Secret" he wrote it for children. Enjoy this book and learn to enjoy life!.usa_emporium
I have offered this book to twelve personal friends (thus far….) Three of them, without communicating with the other individuals, have come to me and said that it was, "the best gift anyone (inside or outside of their family) has ever given to them." I had nothing to do with the book – but continue to feel that I am pointing folks in the right direction. If you're reading this – you were supposed to… I hope this note / book will help you too.lfhunt1
I will preface my review by saying that these type of books are generally very polarizing: either you love it because the message speaks clearly to your heart, or you're compelled to prove it inaccurate because it does not. Having said that, I truly love this book because it has the special ability to always put me in that state of amazement whenever I read it. I have read it beginning to end, but I really use it to help me enter the 'now' by reading just a few passages. For me, it does not matter which passage, I can literally open any page and read a few lines, and I am there. Even thinking about this book relaxes my mind and puts me in that state. For that, I consider it very special. This is probably the 5th or 6th copy I am buying, because I keep giving them away. I don't claim that this is the only book that can do such a thing, but it does for me. I can also totally understand if you think it's a bunch of crap, but I can't deny what it does for me, and maybe in the end that's truly what's important.omni_deals
3. Spiritual Enlightenment: The Damnedest Thing [Book]

Product Details:
From a spiritual master unlike any, a spiritual masterpiece like no other author, teacher and spiritual master jed mckenna tells it like it's never been told before. a true american original, jed succeeds where countless others have failed by reducing this highest of attainments – spiritual enlightenment – to the simplest of terms. effectively demystifying the mystical, jed astonishes the reader not by adding to the world's collected spiritual wisdom, but by taking the spirituality out of spiritual enlightenment. never before has this elusive topic been treated in so engaging and accessible a manner. a masterpiece of illuminative writing, spiritual enlightenment is mandatory reading for anyone following a spiritual path. part exposé and part how-to manual, this is the first book to explain why failure seems to be the rule in the search for enlightenment – and how the rule can be broken. says jed: the truth is that enlightenment is neither remote nor unattainable. it is closer than your skin and more immediate than your next breath. mankind has spent ages looking in the light for a coin that awaits us not in light and not in dark, but beyond all opposites. that is the message of this book: spiritual enlightenment, pure and simple.
Reviews:
After 25 years on a supposedly 'spiritual' path (…Buddhism,Advaita,Western Magic(k)) I came across this book. If you 'seek' enlightenment (and want to avoid quarter of a century of BS) get this book… It surpasses any book on the subject I have ever read. Its on a whole other level…its really that simple. The other books in the trilogy are fantastic but THIS is the one you want. Frankly there are only three enlightened authorities that I would recommend without reservation…McKenna ,Adyashanti and the Liberation Unleashed guys …check out their YouTube stuff. Be warned this is a rather hardcore and radical book…its not for hippies or the delusional sycophants that trail behind flowing-robed gurus. If it sets your inner world on fire don't say I didn't warn you!mark

This is one of the best books I have ever read. If you are interested in growing spiritually this book is for you. If you have interest in Buddhism or not this book is a must read.leesblue
This book got me firmly back on track spiritually some years back when it came out. I have probably bought eight copies since because I always wind up giving my much-loved, dog-eared versions away. Read this book if you are thinking about embracing Buddhism or simply finding out more about it. Remember too that Buddhist Mind Training principles can make a good Christian great, good Catholic great, good Jew great – and so on and so forth. The goal is not to convert, it is to enrich. Das is a Jew from New York. He is a boomer who followed his heart east in the seventies and was blessed in being able to find and learn from some great masters. So if you'd rather read the fundamentals from someone who committed himself than than purchase a plane ticket, ride a Yak cart and drink butter tea for 20 years, buy this book! It changed … and continues to change … my life. It is (gasp) the most important book I have ever owned.greatestatejewelry
A great and very enlightening book! I am glad I got this book to add to my library. I am sure that many would love to have this book. It is simple and easy to read. It has the very essence of the philiosophy of what is Buddhism.ivan226travel

Great insightful and character development book.Stuart H.
Perhaps the best contemporary interpretation and discussion of the basic and secondary elements of the dharma. Very insightful and clear and suitable for a secular mastery of the path to nirvana and freedom from suffering.woodman1016
This book by Cambodian monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, should be considered his introduction to Buddhism. It profits most from Nhat Hanh's easily accessible writing style. Within this text readers will find the classic stories of the Buddha's major life-changing events, such as the Buddha's "Deer Park" awakening & "Turning the Dharma Wheel Sutra." Next, Nhat Hahn provides ample definitions of Buddhist words & concepts, such as: Three Jewels, Three Doors of Liberation, Three Dharma Seals; Four Immeasurable Minds, Four Noble Truths; Five Wonderful Precepts, Five Powers; Six Harmonies; The Noble Eightfold Path; Twelve Links of Causation. Nhat Hanh's message is that Buddhism is path toward individual enlightenment. Meditative thinking is a method. Individuals are encouraged to consider how past and present community influences have impeded or fostered their enlightenment. Product Details:
This modern-day commentary on dogen’s instructions for a zen cook reveals how everyday activities—like cooking—can be incorporated into our spiritual practice in the thirteenth century, zen master dogen—perhaps the most significant of all japanese philosophers, and the founder of the japanese soto zen sect—wrote a practical manual of instructions for the zen cook. in drawing parallels between preparing meals for the zen monastery and spiritual training, he reveals far more than simply the rules and manners of the zen kitchen; he teaches us how to "cook," or refine our lives. in this volume kosho uchiyama roshi undertakes the task of elucidating dogen's text for the benefit of modern-day readers of zen. taken together, his translation and commentary truly constitute a "cookbook for life," one that shows us how to live with an unbiased mind in the midst of our workaday world.

19. Rethinking The Enlightenment: Faith In The Age Of Reason [Book]

Product Details:
The enlightenment was a complex cultural movement that radically transformed both religion and society "¬‚¬" a movement christians fended off when, in the name of "reason," the church in france was dethroned in a most bloody and utterly unreasonable way. the enlightenment also ushered in a wave of genuine christian inspiration and reform, however, and it opened vast new avenues for the faith to flourish. in this compelling and edifying book, scholar joseph stuart investigates this paradox, masterfully exploring the tense interaction of the enlightenment and christianity as two cultures, two lived realities, and two overlapping ways of life. on page after page, you'll see that the "age of reason" was more than just merciless confrontation between reason and religion. indeed, it brought forth many christians "¬‚¬" including "the enlightenment pope," benedict xiv, and groups of coffee-drinking monks "¬‚¬" who embraced both faith and reason as powerful tools for strengthening church and society. in other cases, culture-changing christians such as john wesley and st. louis de montfort opted simply to sidestep the enlightenment by building up christian culture from within "¬‚¬" a strategy that led to the explosion of powerful evangelical movements across the world. stuart demonstrates that the three primary strategies christians employed during the enlightenment "¬‚¬" conflict, engagement, and retreat "¬‚¬" are time-tested methods that should be employed in our own anti-christian age. conflict without engagement is senseless; engagement without conflict is weak; and without retreat, both strategies lack wisdom.
Reviews:
A wonderful book that gives an unbiased look at the inherent conflict between religion and culture, and faith and reason.
Interesting analysis of the Catholic Enlightenment. The author divided the book into 3 sections: conflict, engagement and retreat. The first two sections analyzing religion in France and Italy were "Catholic heavy." However, the third section analyzing religion in England and American colonies was predominately concerned with Methodism. Well-researched. I would have just liked more information about Catholicism in England and the Americas during the period in question.traffic_nerd

If you are a fan of Eckhardt Tolle "The Power of Now", this is an excellent addition for quick reference guidance. Practicing the Power of Now is divided into 3 Parts: Accessing the Power of Now, Relationship as Spiritual Practice and lastly, Acceptance and Surrender. The font size is excellent for ease of reading. Find a quiet place to sit to absorb Eckhardt's teachings.Lynne
