Reviews:
Very well written book. Enjoyed the connect between the various leadership levels. Liked the use of examples. The figures were okay, they could have been developed more to show a closer connection with the text.rgc1il
Good book in good shape, and with interesting content.nojcika87
"The Leadership Pipeline" is a very well written book. It clearly explains each passage's skills, time applications, and work values that are required. It gives examples, demonstrates how to identify and solve leadership problems, and relates each passage to its own context as well as to the pipeline as a whole. The model can be modified as needed when a company adopts it, and the fact that any company can adopt it successfully, makes it a very usable and practical model. I bought it because I am trying to get into administration and this book looked useful in helping to adopt a leadership frame of mind.vcugirl100
3. Lean In: Women, Work, And The Will To Lead [Book]

Product Details:
Sheryl sandberg's lean in is a massive cultural phenomenon and its title has become an instant catchphrase for empowering women. the book soared to the top of bestseller lists internationally, igniting global conversations about women and ambition. sandberg packed theatres, dominated opinion pages, appeared on every major television show and on the cover of time magazine, and sparked ferocious debate about women and leadership. ask most women whether they have the right to equality at work and the answer will be a resounding yes, but ask the same women whether they'd feel confident asking for a raise, a promotion, or equal pay, and some reticence creeps in. the statistics, although an improvement on previous decades, are certainly not in women's favour – of 197 heads of state, only twenty-two are women. women hold just 20 percent of seats in parliaments globally, and in the world of big business, a meagre eighteen of the fortune 500 ceos are women.

This book helped me see how influential women can be and why we need to work together to make the world a better place for everyone to succeed. I recommend the book to get a different perspective on life and others that you interact with.caraleab96
This book was my book club reading about 3 months ago and I was too busy to read it. Finally bought it on Ebay and read it. Very glad I did, though I'm not in the workforce any more. She is spot-on with her analysis of what happens to women and how and why we handle our careers the way some of us do… like we 'accidentally' did well. I would like my daughter to read it. We need more women like Cheryl who will share with the rest of us!coldcoo11

6. The Front-Line Leader: Building A High-Performance Organization From The Ground Up [Book]

Product Details:
Real leadership that leads to high engagement, higher performance, and a culture of accountability as president and ceo of scripps health, one of america's most prestigious health systems, chris van gorder has presided over a dramatic turnaround, catapulting scripps from near bankruptcy to a dominant market position. while hospitals and health systems nationwide have laid people off or are closing their doors, scripps is financially healthy, has added thousands of employees (even with a no-layoff philosophy), and has developed a reputation as a top employer. what are the secrets to this remarkable story? in the front-line leader, chris van gorder candidly shares his own incredible story, from police officer to ceo, and the leadership philosophy that drives all of his decisions and actions: people come first. van gorder began his unlikely career as a california police officer, which deeply instilled in him a sense of social responsibility, honesty, and public service. after being injured on the job and taking an early retirement, van gorder had to reinvent himself, eventually taking a job as a hospital security director, a job that would change his life. through hard work and determination, he rose to executive ranks, eventually becoming ceo of scripps. but he never forgot his own roots and powerful work ethic, or the time when a ceo would not make eye contact with him, a security officer. his values learned on the force—protecting the community, educating citizens, developing caring relationships, and ultimately doing the right thing—shape his approach to business. as much as companies talk about accountability, managers seldom understand what practical steps to take for an ethic of service that makes accountability meaningful. the front-line leader outlines specific tactics and steps anyone can use starting today to take responsibility, inspire others, and achieve breakout results for their organizations. van gorder reveals how a no-layoff philosophy led to higher accountability, how his own attention to seemingly minor details spurred larger change, and how his own high standards for himself and his team improved morale and productivity. from general strategy to the tiny, everyday steps leaders can take to create the kind of culture and accountability that translates into major competitive advantage, the front-line leader charts a path to better leadership and a more engaged, higher-performing organization.

7. Women And Leadership: Real Lives, Real Lessons [Book]
Product Details:
A powerful call to action for achieving equality in leadership.women make up fewer than ten per cent of national leaders worldwide, and behind this eye-opening statistic lies a pattern of unequal access to power.
Reviews:
This book is amazing. It's written in an accessible, conversational style, which I wasn't expecting. It looks at both Julia Gillard & Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala leadership experience as well as the lives of those amazing women interviewed. It can be, at times, a depressing reality check that feminism still has a long way to go. However, I don't think that anyone should come away from this feeling hopeless or disheartened. It gives a new appreciation and respect from the authors and interviewees by speaking plainly about the reality that female leaders face. A must read for everyone.JT
Thus far, I am really enjoying this book. It dives into the challenges for women in leadership and includes insights from women who are and have been in leadership from around the world. Would definitely recommend and will probably read it a second time.Lisa Marie
Women and Leadership presents lessons that should be learned from high profile women in positions of leadership. Very readable, it looks at the role gender plays in women's access to positions of leadership. It follows that it considers their own perceptions of them selves as leaders, as well as the perceptions of others as their journey into and through leadership roles plays out. Inspirational. For those interested in how we an change and alter the way society things about women in these roles and who want to see more women in leadership roles – this is a book well worth reading.Hallea

Product Details:
This practical guide, the first to show how leaders can achieve extraordinary results through the positive energy generated by virtuous interactions with employees, is written by one of the giants in the study of positive leadership.this book reveals one of the most important but frequently ignored factors that lead to spectacular performance in organizations. kim cameron, a true pioneer in the study of positive leadership, offers validated scientific evidence that all individuals are inherently attracted to and flourish in the presence of positive energy, a principle known in biology as heliotropism. further, he shows that the positive relational energy generated by leaders’ virtuous behaviors—such as generosity, compassion, gratitude, trustworthiness, forgiveness, and kindness—is tightly linked to extraordinary organizational outcomes like greater innovation, higher profits, and increased engagement and retention. cameron has not written a feel-good tome about the power of positive thinking, “happiology,” or unbridled optimism. this research-based explanation shows how to achieve performance that exceeds expectations. he provides practical suggestions, assessments, and exercises showing how leaders can improve their own positive energy and increase positive relational energy in their organizations. positively energizing leadership is a major contribution to the theory and practice of leadership.
