Very happy with this music book it was exactly what I neededdennistomo
Starts you off following letters, not having to read music. Makes it fun for a new student to play songs very quickly. You are slowly transitioned into reading music. Larger book then expected so I think we will be working through it for awhile.mdintx
Great for the absolute beginner. Some simple arrangements of some nice tunes. As an adult I find many of these tunes to be very pleasing. The book was more expensive than alternative suppliers but the delivery was markedly quicker, which was important to me at the timepericles4

A good piano book for adults teaching the basics that you need to know as a beginner. Every steps they guide you through are explained. Recommend anyone who is looking to learn piano from the scratch.sharon
This book is well set out and covers everything from basics up. It is especially good for Adults as the pieces are specifically aimed at them and not children as is the case in many starter piano lesson books. It is also linked to the internet for downloading video and accompaniment to the pieces. Am really enjoying using this book.garybrecon
As a first piano book for adults this makes your entry into the magical but mysterious (to a complete newcomer !) world of music a cinch. Simple concepts so that you can start right away. I'd recommend this book to any adult learner.Joani Inner Nature

It does require you to be able to at least work out music notation but after that it's all about your hands feeling the sounds. As always happens, you get out of it what you put into it. It works if you work it!exmus3
This tutorial has a great deal of text in it and the examples appear all to be in one key. However, this said the associated videos on the website (Jamcast) are very good, you can also find them on Youtube and it is advisable to download them.richardshrewsbury1
It is really nice way to improve playing skills. BTW, it has links to video lectures – it's a super nice feature for a book like this. The only one minor thing till perfect book (from my point of view) – the book has soft cover, but even this may be a feature for the other piano players. Million thanks for the author 🙂smikulenas

I enjoy teaching out of Faber's Piano Adventures because the tunes are fun and the Jazz accompaniments spice up teachers' and students' musical experience. Playing duets with students early helps to establish good rhythm habits.lewenzel64
This is clearly the most easy way to teach anyone how to play the piano. The 2nd edition that was released is TERRIBLE. VERY CONFUSING. Get all the older edition Faber books- they r much better!!!pianochic55
This book was recommended to me by a professional and now that I have started using it I can see why. It progresses nicely and helps the student use different fingers on the same note so a beginner won't associate a certain finger with a certain note. I am happy with this material for my beginner students.gsmb478

The books recommended by my music teacher for someone my age beginning piano. Such a relief it was still available. I am very happy.S W.
Hi: I found that this music course has all the basics in it for teaching and learning piano. I used this book at a community college when I taught there. I use it for my private students also. This method is one of the best books for a mixed genre of music as other books can be all classical, or, not chronological with the lessons. I would recommend it to anyone who is musically inclined. It converts nicely from book one to book two. I don't find any thing I dislike about it. It is easy to grasp and one can play songs right away. I have used other methods and this one at the present time seems to be my favorite. I made repeat purchases of it. May you become a great music artist…love…maryannfalvo
Very helpful teaching book. It is very detailed for a lst time user to studying. This is my second book from the course.sleepjennie1950shop

Excellent to start pupils who have never played before.strawberry196
I love this book. I bought it to teach myself as best I could and I can't praise it more highly. However, where is Level 2? I wanted to buy the next level, but as far as I can see, there isn't one. The book gives diagrams of where to put your fingers and progresses slowly from page to page until you feel competent. There are some simple tunes, which get harder, but all are achievable with practise.star181270

This was just what I was looking for. I haven't played piano for 50 years, and in the intervening years had played a treble clef instrument so had forgotten the left hand notes. The book has enabled my memory cogs to whirr into action!joan4032*2008
This is a great book for learning. I played an accordian as a kid and needed to educate my left hand to a keyboard. Needed a big time refresher on everything. Love the lessons and the selection of songs accompanying them. There are recommended song books listed on the bottom of some of the pages as you progress within this same book that you can order on line as you approach each level and the songs are all beautifully arranged. Even my friend who has been playing for years loved the arrangements and the simplicity. They just make for fun playing. I just ordered the adult book level 2 of this series. Wish me luck.deboratyrrel-0
I started learning how to play on my 30s, and this book has been very helpful. It teaches you how to read the notes and where your finger should be in the keyboard. My only critique is that I wish it had more exercises between the lessons. I ended up going to a second hand book store to find some easy exercises. Also, it says about a CD to listen to the music, but I haven't got one. Maybe is sold separately?

I really like this book to teach piano. It has just enough songs, but is mostly lessons on hand placement, and building up from each new thing. It took a very long time to ship (was stated when purchased), but I am very happy with the product.swee.tany

Reviews:
The Czerny piano book is great. I love the etudes in it. They are fun to learn
This book is filled with technical excercises that are also very musical. I've been playing for about 2-3 months and find the exercises challenging, but I enjoy them and it has improved my coordination. NOTE: The book is aimed at beginners, but I'd probably recommend to someone who has been playing for a few months or can read music at a basic level. The book just contains sheet music with no explanations/notes about the exercises, so a true beginner might find it a bit daunting!Leo

I can't review as to condition as it was sent to a friend in another state. He said he loved the book but I'll know for sure when I visit in June. I have the same book purchased years ago from your site and it's one of my favorites. Have also bought same book for my son. Barbara Nessbness12012
The arrangements in this book are VERY basic- left hand piano part is single notes only (or, chords if you prefer that method). I bought it for the playlist, and will probably "enhance" the left hand parts.sart7746
My husband has spent hours playing the songs from this book on his keyboard. He told me that the music is truly easy to play. Every song is a classic gem. We purchased the book after previewing a badly tattered copy at our local library. It was a bargain too. The fact that we purchased it from Goodwill Industries was even better. We received a great deal and a charity benefited too.gjc1n1
