Good book in good shape, and with interesting content.nojcika87
"The Leadership Pipeline" is a very well written book. It clearly explains each passage's skills, time applications, and work values that are required. It gives examples, demonstrates how to identify and solve leadership problems, and relates each passage to its own context as well as to the pipeline as a whole. The model can be modified as needed when a company adopts it, and the fact that any company can adopt it successfully, makes it a very usable and practical model. I bought it because I am trying to get into administration and this book looked useful in helping to adopt a leadership frame of mind.vcugirl100

The writing style creates an ease to the reading experience but also demonstrates years of experience in the field of leadership expertise with digestible concepts that are extremely beneficial. I'm already thinking about how to apply what I've read to my own life as I move toward the goals that I have for myself. The topic of the book is incredibly relevant, and I appreciate the fact that Mr. Maxwell recognizes the ever evolving demands of leadership as the pace of the world grows faster and faster. 9. Women And Leadership: Real Lives, Real Lessons [Book]

Product Details:
Reviews:
This book is amazing. It's written in an accessible, conversational style, which I wasn't expecting. It looks at both Julia Gillard & Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala leadership experience as well as the lives of those amazing women interviewed. It can be, at times, a depressing reality check that feminism still has a long way to go. However, I don't think that anyone should come away from this feeling hopeless or disheartened. It gives a new appreciation and respect from the authors and interviewees by speaking plainly about the reality that female leaders face. A must read for everyone.JT
Women and Leadership presents lessons that should be learned from high profile women in positions of leadership. Very readable, it looks at the role gender plays in women's access to positions of leadership. It follows that it considers their own perceptions of them selves as leaders, as well as the perceptions of others as their journey into and through leadership roles plays out. Inspirational. For those interested in how we an change and alter the way society things about women in these roles and who want to see more women in leadership roles – this is a book well worth reading.Hallea

19. A Higher Standard Of Leadership: Lessons From The Life Of Gandhi [Book]

Product Details:
Though gandhi is one of the most written-about figures of the twentieth century, this is the first book to apply lessons from his life to the practical tasks faced by contemporary leaders-from corporate managers and executives to government administrators, nonprofit professionals, educators, and others. in times shaped by colonialism, dictatorships, and two world wars, gandhi demonstrated that an idealist could also be a practical and effective leader. in a higher standard of leadership, he offers a pragmatic guide based on the concepts gandhi exemplified: o leadership is service, not a path to power and privilege; o effective goals, decisions, and strategies can be guided by moral principles; o a single standard of conduct, based on absolute values, should be maintained in both public and private life. a lifelong student of gandhi's teachings and a businessman with more than 25 years of experience in corporate and governmental leadership development, nair is uniquely positioned to bridge the two worlds. using illustrative examples from gandhi's life and writings, he identifies commitments-to conscience, openness, service, values, and reduced attachments-and describes the courage and determination necessary to work and lead by them. in simple and direct language, he explores the process of making decisions, setting goals, and implementing actions guided by the spirit of service and commitment to values that is essential to the realization of a higher standard of leadership in our workplaces and communities.
