Reviews:
My daughter received this book as a gift from her baby brother the day he was born. This book breaks it down for little ones. My daughter enjoyed this book so much the pages have seen better days. She also reads this book to her now 3 year old brother. My niece is going to be a big sister for the first time and I am buying another copy.richardswife
Comes in Both "Big Sister" and "Big Brother". I purchased both for two different families. They both loved it. I read it before I gave it as a gift and was very pleased. Also great because the baby is NOT given a gender, which can be very helpful if gifting it before the baby is born, as I did.HopeL
Disappointed. Very Americanised, eg "diaper", not nappy. "Mom or Mommy", not Mam or Mum. Thought there would have been a better story to the book – could have written it better myself! Would recommend anyone to actually view a book in a proper book shop rather than online, so that you check storylines to see if it is what you are looking for. I actually apologised to the father of the new-born before giving it him for his oldest daughter and told him how disappointed I was with the content.kiteman2010

Reviews:
This fifty-two-page paperback targets five- to seven-year-old males who are going to become older siblings for the first time. With no profanity or scenes, there are four chapters, ending with a congratulations page, acknowledgments, and author's biography. After ownership and welcome pages, the four sections cover before the baby arrives, becoming a big brother, being a big brother, and growing up together. Including personal stories of other big brothers, there are also topics about nap time, feedings, diaper changing, bath time, playtime, rolls, and family time. Each chapter concludes with suggestions of what to do together and questions about what the soon-to-be older brother thinks or feels. Several super safe brother tips are added. ~ Why ~ Our three-year-old grandson has recently become a big brother to a little sister, so this book may be helpful as he grows up and accepts the fact he is no longer an only child. I appreciate the personal stories of seeing the sibling's ultrasound, meeting the baby for the first time, and playing with toys. Some highlighted questions to discuss include: What makes me the most nervous about becoming a big brother? Who will be taking care of me while I'm waiting? When will things go back to normal? How do I feel about being a big brother? ~ Why Not ~ Those who are not becoming an older sibling or brother will not need this book. It is best for a parent to read this out loud to beginner readers as they may have trouble with the two- and three-syllable words. The illustrations are rudimentary and simplistic. ~ Wish ~ I found the book should only be read out loud to the targeted age group as it may be too hard for a first or second grader to comprehend reading alone. ~ Want ~ If your young son is going to be a big brother soon, this may be a helpful guide book for a parent to read to him as he transitions to not being the only child in the family. Thanks to Callisto Publisher's Club & the author for this complimentary book.Connywithay

This book really helps if you have siblings that are constantly bickering! I have 4 kids, but 2 of them are alwaysssss fighting, so this book has helped me approach this situation without flipping my lid!! I highly recommend it, also the 1-2-3 Magic book, i just ordered it, my daughters therapist recommended both books!limitless_money
I have to admit in fairness to this book, I read it when I was sick in bed so I may have not gotten all out of it I should have. However, what I did take away was very easy to apply and very effective. I have noticed a difference in my 3.5 year old's behavior toward our 10 month old. Just by changing the way I speak to him and understanding a bit of where he is coming from, he has stopped bullying the little one by about 75%. That is 75% more sanity for me. I also didn't realize how much my husband and I have already started with the comparisons – a huge contributor to rivalry! We are trying to cut that out asap! I have decided to read it once a year since the advice works for all ages. Would recommend!choldenlab
I really like this book. They authors made it understandable. And the way they explained the issues I really could relate to. Their ideas for correcting the problems seem logical. Takes a little time for me to put them into practice, but they are working. I have two sons who fight with each other frequently and I bought this book to bring a little more harmony into my life. Someone had recommended it to me, so I looked it up and thought it fit the bill.omaha365

I bought this for my great-grandson who has just become a big brother to his new baby sister. He loves it, knows it off by heart, took it to childcare to read and my grand daughter purchased it from you for 2 of his friends who are also about to be big brothers. Highly recommended for the way it spells out for children the things a baby cannot do, but they can and ends by telling them that their parents think they are very special because they are a big brother. Loved it.Great Grandma
Bought this for my grandson when his baby brother arrived. The content is excellent but the americanisms ( mom, diaper etc) annoying. It would be lovely if a reprinted version was made available for an English market as it is the best book of its kind that I have found.angeladon2010

Growing Up Sisters is NOT the book I expected. I was looking for a book that introduced bringing the new baby sister home and what the big sister could expect to happy as the BABY grows from being an infant. Relating to bottles, burping, the first giggle, spitting up and drooling, changing diapers, bathing etc. Not how the sisters are as a toddler Moving forward.Patricia L.
This is a wonderful book for my granddaughter who will soon be a big sister. It highlights activities that her and I or her and her parents have done with her over the last 3 1/2 yrs. She understands how she will now be showing her little sister the way. Great timing on this book. We LOVE it! 🙂Kym C.
