Well well wellÖ Is a place you may find water and my initial brain rumblings about Daisy Luther's water survival guide. The 'Well well wellÖ' is all about me thinking I knew as much information on securing purifying and storing water as possible. Being able to enjoy a book that teaches me new and simple ways to hold dear that water resource is of utmost importance in a short or long term SHTF situation. Plus this book covers way more than I thought it would. Daisy leads you to consider the facts in areas such as; sanitation causes of illness and its toxins how it would look & feel to be without water and how everyone needs this resource to stay healthy. The 2 major items that I never deeply considered were the 'Toxins in municipal water supplies' and 'Sanitation'. They were at the back of my brain but now I pay more attention on these issues. When it is time to actually get a plan and learn how to find transport store and purify the H2O she has it all laid out in terms that any layman can understand and implement. There is no talking-down to the reader about how dense they might've been when it comes to always having water available. If there was anything that I'd like to have changed it is the order in which the chapters are laid out. Perhaps add chapter 12 after chapter 4 and having an order of chapters 8 11 7 9 and then 10. Having it order in my opinion of how one would go about the tasks of making your water plan work from top to bottom may serve the reader better. Recommended? It's laid out logically starting with items that are critical for survival, like water, dairy and beans. On down to things that would be nice to have, but aren't critical to survival, like vinegar, squash and dried chili peppers. Ok, I will say more… This is like the bible of survival! It doesn't show you one thing about anything, it shows several examples of different styles about how to do everything! It includes color pictures that are extremely detailed and easy to recognize for plant life, marine life, insects, reptiles, ect. It includes different sections for different situations like marine survival, urban survival, natural disasters, home security, ect. It's very informative, not embellishing anything, straight to the point. It's a good basic survival book packed with good basic information. My respect to the author and the SAS. I think the book is very helpful and overall thorough, however, I wish it had been better redacted and more detailed in many aspects. I know covering everything in more informative detail is literally impossible, but the book could use some improvement nonetheless. Ok, I will say more… This is like the bible of survival! It doesn't show you one thing about anything, it shows several examples of different styles about how to do everything! It includes color pictures that are extremely detailed and easy to recognize for plant life, marine life, insects, reptiles, ect. It includes different sections for different situations like marine survival, urban survival, natural disasters, home security, ect. It's very informative, not embellishing anything, straight to the point. I say it's another no-brainer purchase because what Jim Cobb writes I read. Period. Full stop. His style of no nonsense common sense bits of info on a super wide ranging plane of survival topics is just what I think everyone needs. Who wants an incredibly detailed and exotic plan for survival and/or prepping? The simpler you can keep your plan the less things can go screwy. As I read thru this book I kept saying to myself Oh yeah I didn't think about that. So once I tallied up all those Oh yeah's I came away with learning a lot more than I had thought possible. This book will also serve as a reference tool and placed in my ever expanding BOB right next to titles like SAS Survival Handbook Revised Edition: For Any Climate in Any Situation and The Survival Medicine Handbook: A Guide for When Help is Not on the Way.
