Perfect for our Step11 book group.ledwus0
This book is being used for a women's 12 step group. I bought over 10 of the books for this purpose. The language of the book is very profound and we all agree that we have to really focus in order to get the meaning and internalize the words. I believe this is a book that best serves those who are willing to make the effort to read and reread to internalize the words. Its not a light 'pick-me-up' catchy phrase for the day. It requires real work. There have been many deep discussions and awarenesses for our group members as a result of reading this book together.cynthia_peace

Very interesting. It has answered a lot of questions. So much more to learn. Thank you.vanessstonehous-0
I bought the book on the recommendation of a mental health professional. She said I would see a lot of my behavior in it. After the first pages I was dumbfounded. I am still feeling the positive repercussion from all the information I read. Although I do not neatly fit in the catagory of an ACOA, I am sorry that I did not read this book 20 years ago, and I am grateful to have read this book now. I feel like changes will come and they will transform me into the man I have always wanted to be. My parents are little american success stories, both coming from extremely poor backgrounds, they overcame many personal obstacles, but were not equipped to dispense the needed parental guidance. I am a grown man with his own things to deal with. This book has helped me to see the realization that change is not insumountable.ringo29507

This book is a true gift!! This book has helped so many people, a lot like me😊 No one should feel shame for their "problem", whatever that may be. Humans were not made perfect. It is through our lives that we make these mistakes, and in that moment we either, choose to learn a lesson, or repeat the same mistakes, which form habits. We all can say we have habits, from excessive eating, or gaming, the list goes on. The thing I LOVE about this AA book, is that you can apply ANY bad habits to it and that's what makes this book so universal! As humans we can strive for perfection, but never let that bump in the road set you back! Stay strong and keep reading😊 ✌🏼️n❤️jessica.d

The good news is that this is a thin edition of the "Big Book" so easier to carry around on a trip, etc. The bad news is only a certain amount of material – the original stories so not necessarily good for a Big Book Meeting. Be sure you check out the ISBN 9562912655 which will be this edition by BN publishing done in 2006 and taken from the original 1939 AA Services. Your larger softcover will have a different number and the hardcover is 978-1-893007-16-1calcurt
I like the ability to carry a soft covered copy of "The Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous because it is convenient and light. I love to study the book and, in this one, carry a marker to underline significant lines to accent what is meaningful on a specific day. This particular book was one that had no previous underlines in it, making it usable for my own highlights. Even being a copy of the third addition it has the same first 164 pages of all three other printings, which are very helpful in learning and practicing recovery principles.drytyme

Grateful to have been turned on to this book. Been very informative, helpful in my recovery. Will suggest for those whose are also ACAs. Thank you.tataw2692
This book is a great read for those who have grown up in an alcoholic family. It helps shed the light on some of the issues that adult children of alcoholics are feeling. I would recommend this to anyone.brooky72lisa
