I purchased this book from a school book fair one year not realizing how much enjoyment my family would have reading this book. I am a loyal Target shopper and go there for almost everything I need, however, this order was highly disappointing. My kids are 3 and 5 and most of it is too difficult for them but there’s guidance for their age group. It’s ok that they’re not ready to use most of it. I’m excited to introduce more activities and achievements as they grow older and gain understanding! And they love the stories! Right now I’m just reading them a story almost every night upon their request! And they get paid right away when they do a chore that earns commission to learn the relationship of work and pay. As they get older I’ll introduce the patches, activity book, pay days and separating money out. This program is really neat!Sarah N.
Hi! I have begun reading the Jr's Adventure book to my boys (ages 7 and 9) and I'm beyond thrilled that they are enjoying it so much! The book is broken up into short stories and I've intentionally decided to read each story on different days to give them some time to reflect on the lesson being taught. I'm thrilled to see them both thumbing through the book at random times, reading ahead and asking when we can read the next story together. My youngest son has ADD and I'm happily shocked that he has been completely engaged and sitting still reading with us for the duration of each story! I'm very happy with this set! Thank you for mindfully making such a wonderful book and kit for helping me as a parent teach my children the money lessons they need to know, while creating a very positive family experience together. I was excited to order the kit for my child, but I was floored when I got the kit and how much is included, a magnetic chore chart, story book, a parent booklet and piggy bank. I love the parent booklet as it helps guide me through this process with my daughter and how to utilize everything included in the kit. My daughter read the included stories then we filled out the chore chart together and I broke all the chores down to add up to $5.00 a week. The best part of this kit has been how excited my daughter is about this. One of my goals for my daughter is to ensure that she is financial literate at a young age and not fear her finances like I had grown up. The adventure pack has been a wonderful place to start! She now follows her chore chart religiously and is learning to split her allowance into the spend, save and give bank categories. It allows me to truly explain finances to my daughter in a very concrete way, which includes how to give, how to save for investing and spend on things like roller skates etc. to include the cost and taxes. My daughter is obsessed with the "thats not my" series! It's such a hit, so many different textures for them to touch. It's a short reading book. Plus usborne is amazing for anything! Two of my animals chewed on two different books and you can get them replaced with life time warranty on them!krystal.b
My 9.5 month old daughter is OBSESSED with these books. We have a couple of them now and she’s gotten good at flipping the pages on her own. Sometimes we read them 6+ times in a single day haha. I love that these books have a wide variety of textures through them. So many similar books on the market are similar fur in different colours or rubbery things on every page. I bought these to try and help teach my little one basic words. What you’d think would be inside generally isn’t, quite disappointed for the money spent, wish I’d have just bought a 100 word picture book or something instead for a fraction of the price. Bought in store but they were wrapped so I couldn’t look inside the books. If I could return I would but I doubt they’ll take them back now they’re open. Shame as they are Disney I was hoping they’d be good, never mind!MummaP
