Reviews:
I wasn’t expecting much from this book, but I ended up loving it. It did not end how you would assume most young adult romances go. But it was such an easy read for me. I couldn’t put it down. I am so glad I decided to pick this up!brittany.d
I work at Barnes and noble and this was one of the advanced reader edition. I loved it! How it depicts how it feels to be here in the u.s. illegally was pretty accurate. Just the beginning with saying how they treated her at the immigration office, is something I heard of so many times hopefully this helps others feel what immigrants feel. But aside from that I love the whole story of how they fall in love 💛 100 percent recommend it
A book about realistic and kind of impossible romance. It really is not only about love and high school crushes, you can really connect with some of the personal problems the charcacter are going through. It can get a little sad at times so I wouldn't call it a light read.barbara.p

Reviews:
I have never read a more heartbreakingly beautiful book in my 25 years of existence. If you have any doubts about reading this one, don’t. Read it. It’s the best book ever. I have never felt such emotions by just reading a book. Colleen Hoover’s books are great. But this one????? Indescribable how perfect it is.jchell
Reminders of him by @colleenhoover ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 This is possibly the best book I've read by Colleen Hoover, so far. Ive never had a book rip my heart out like this one did .. I almost cried . Maybe I'm an emotionless doll or something. I teared up for Kenna . But I didn't cry . I smiled. I laughed . I swooned over the main love interest, Ledger. I whole heartedly missed Scotty. I sympathized for the victims . And my heart hurt for Diem . I absolutely devoured this book in 2 days, and it would have been 1 day , but life … lol . If you have not read this one , do it . Hoover has done it again . She put so many emotions inside those covers. And she made me feel them all with such intensity. I was surprised I didn't start blubbering like a baby … I left this book, Kind of feeling like less of a human because I didn't cry 😂 yet so full of every emotion I was floored . I won't be forgetting this book any time soon .kaylee .a
Absolutely loved this book, so yes saw that Diem was part of Ledger life etc but I never expected it to turn out how it did fully, or what happened that horrible night. The way Kenna was punishing herself, and accepting the hate and unloved because that’s how she felt about herself as well. It was a horrid accident which took her that night as well unfortunately and everything seem to be against her, that was until ledger got to know her and fought for her and with her, as he knew the real Kenna. It was beautifully written and made me once again have a mixture of emotions, seem Colleen Hoover is very good at playing with your emotions. This is the 4th book I’ve read by her and I’ve ordered more, truly amazing books and I can’t help but be drawn and sucked into them.rebecca.p

Reviews:
X-Men meets The Handmaid's Tale! This is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Victoria Aveyard's The Red Queen, Netflix's Stranger Things and Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows. Following Shatter Me, this is the second book in the series. The second book is even better than the first. You get emerged into the tale and your connection to the characters grow even more. Nothing is at seems in this series and you will end up being hooked!Susan
This series was a little slow to get going for me, but once it did, I couldn't put it down! This book, the 2nd in the series, has DECKLED EDGES that ARE NOT walmart's fault (eye roll at the other review). I'm not a fan of deckled edges, but it seems the hardcover version of this book is only available that way.Christy829

Reviews:
One of the best books I’ve read all year. If you loved Caraval, I dare say you’ll love this one more. I thought Caraval was a solid 4 star trilogy, but this book is starting off strong with 5 stars. A very likable, and level-headed MC (Evangeline Fox), stars opposite of the chaotic and unpredictable Jacks. They make a very interesting duo, and I’m very sad I have to wait for the next book.Karly
Was told I could read this book without having to read her other books as it's a separate series. But after finishing it, it's clear you should definitely read the other books if you dont wanna be confused. Even tho it's a separate series it still has needed information in it and is the same world.Brooklyn
Once Upon a Broken heart is set in the same universe as Stephanie Garbers Caraval series. They can be read separately however reading Once Upon a broken heart OUABH first will spoil small bits of Caraval. I loved this book, Garber is great at world building and writing believable characters. After reading so many Fae based books, delving into a world of Fates where magic is used in a different way to most other books, I found it very refreshing. Once Upon a Broken heart is one of my new favourite books, and I intend on re-reading it prior to the release of its sequel, Ballard Of Never After later this year. Garber has mastered the art of the unexpected plot twists and I just can't get enough!Bookishlybella

Reviews:
The Girl on the Train was hyped up to such an extent that I really felt that I would be missing out on something if I didn't read it. It has been plastered over bookshop store fronts and has had it's own dedicated display areas which lead me to believe this was the next big thing. Sadly, I was mistaken. I started with the best intentions. I like to keep an open mind before totally discarding a book, which I feel I did with this book. But, I also feel one of the reasons I did finish it is because it's not really a long read. We meet the character Rachel. From the offset I got the impression that she was quite a lonely, sad character, however, as the plot goes on I got to learn not only is she sad and lonely but an alcoholic, love sick, overdramatic, non-sensical human being. Her character is annoying and foolish but honestly it doesnt stop there, as I soon learned there would be no love lost between me and any of the characters in this book. Rachel goes for a journey on the train everyday, passing by the house she used to live in with her cheating ex-husband Tom, who now lives there with his new wife and child, Anna and Evie. Although Rachel has no real reason to be travelling this route, she is quite obsessed with the fact that a new woman has taken her place in the house she was so happy in. The train tracks run alongside the gardens of this street of houses, giving Rachel a clear view of the goings on in each house. In her own mind she gets to know the neighbours, she creates names, identities and stories for them, all from her intense study of them from her seat on the train. One day whilst passing on the train, she witnesses something quite out of the ordinary in the neighbours house and soon learns a missing woman has been reported. We join Rachel on her unrealistic, detective mission to find out what really happened to the woman. There is no mystery as to what I thought of this book. It felt like a poor attempt to be in the same category as Gone Girl. There were very similar elements to this book, especially the writing style and diary entry layout but for me it just didn't work. I can appreciate a murder- mystery but this is not one I'll be recommending to friends. In a sentence: A very mild, boring version of Gone Girl. Rating: 2/5 Published: 2015maria.l
When this originally came out I rushed to Barnes Noble and picked it up right away- I was so excited to read it! But it sat on my bookshelf for hmmm over a year until finally I decided to read it. I don't know and also DO KNOW what I was waiting for! I lost a whole day plus a night of sleep reading this! WHOA. Rachel Watson, divorcee and alcoholic, rides the 8:04 train every morning into London and spies on the "perfect" couple whom she names Jess and Jason. Jess, beautiful blonde with a lithe body, and Jason the tall brooding protector- two strangers characterized out of a romance novel take up too much space in Rachel's mind. When Rachel sees something shocking from the train window her obsession reaches a peak moment and she immerses herself in the couple's lives. Jess has turned up missing and Rachel believes she may hold key information into finding her. As Rachel moves in on Jess and Jason's lives, she comes head to head with her past as well. Rachel is an utterly despicable character at times but deep down she truly is a good person. I identified with her probably more than I should have- thrust into her world of introversion and a little too much to drink, I couldn't "hate" her because I sympathized too much with her. I felt an emotional connection, especially during her darkest of pages. I felt her desperation, panic, loathing, and overall want to recognized- to be important. I thought this book was perfectly paced- enough was revealed bit by bit to keep the pages turning. There were major and startling plot twists but enough foreshadowing that I enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery myself. I found the ending sort of "meh"- how it all came together at once but I did not predict the "who dun it." (I really might think the worse of people). I have already borrowed this book out and am urging others to read it- its soooo good! Highly recommended! I cannot wait to see the movie adaption.regan.d
The first one third to half of the book is a little hard to get into, but inevitably I kept reading because the writer does a good job of drawing you into the mystery and making you too curious about the ending to stop reading. Initially it is a bit confusing if you’re not paying attention. The book is written in the first person perspective of three different characters; each chapter is labeled with the name of the character whose perspective you’re now reading, along with the date. I rated it highly because the actual mystery is intriguing and unpredictable. It will have you continuously guessing as it reveals further clues into the mystery. I knocked it down to 4/5 stars because none of the characters are likeable or particularly relatable. I found myself frequently frustrated and annoyed with the main female character, and the other two main female characters were extremely narcissistic and difficult to sympathize with. Overall, it’s an interesting, unique crime mystery and worth the read.afiyah.a

Beste boken jeg har lest på mange år! Utrolig god flyt i teksten, og skikkelig vanskelig å legge fra seg. Spesielt tilfredsstillende lesning når en føler seg veldig lei av patriarki og meningsløse samfunnsnormer.Helene K

National bestsellerwinner of the booker prize "a must-read about modern britain and womanhood . . . an impressive, fierce novel about the lives of black british families, their struggles, pains, laughter, longings and loves . . . her style is passionate, razor-sharp, brimming with energy and humor. there is never a single moment of dullness in this book and the pace does not allow you to turn away from its momentum." –booker prize judges bernardine evaristo is the winner of the 2019 booker prize and the first black woman to receive this highest literary honor in the english language. girl, woman, other is a magnificent portrayal of the intersections of identity and a moving and hopeful story of an interconnected group of black british women that paints a vivid portrait of the state of contemporary britain and looks back to the legacy of britain's colonial history in africa and the caribbean. the twelve central characters of this multi-voiced novel lead vastly different lives: amma is a newly acclaimed playwright whose work often explores her black lesbian identity; her old friend shirley is a teacher, jaded after decades of work in london's funding-deprived schools; carole, one of shirley's former students, is a successful investment banker; carole's mother bummi works as a cleaner and worries about her daughter's lack of rootedness despite her obvious achievements. from a nonbinary social media influencer to a 93-year-old woman living on a farm in northern england, these unforgettable characters also intersect in shared aspects of their identities, from age to race to sexuality to class.
Reviews:
Girl, Woman, Other is the winner of the Booker Prize 2019 and deservedly so. Bernardine Evaristo has written a powerful story featuring 12 mostly black female characters of different ages from a teenager to a great grandmother from different backgrounds living in the UK. The novel captures a portrayal of modern Britain, presenting 12 original tales of women and their struggles of living in a predominantly white society. Each tale is unique, yet they are all linked. There's a lot packed in this book, with race and gender discriminaton being the most dominant themes of the book. Evaristo adopted an experimental writing style with no full stops or capital letters at the end and start of the sentences. Neither there are quotation marks for dialogues. While the lack of punctuation threw me off balance at first and got me worried this was going to be another Milkman, luckily, that was not the case. After just a couple of chapters I got used to the style and it didn't bother me at all after that. This book is unique and original, unlike anything I've ever read. It is a fascinating, timely and eye-opening read. I'm already thinking that I probably want to re-read the book next year which says a lot as I hardly ever do re-reads.Jim The Runner
If I could miss first 3 chapters, without it meaning the reader would be unable to locate later characters it would be super for me. First half too much change of thought for me. it was still challenging and I appreciate updating the products of my ancient thinking. My critique must be around 40 years out of date, re sex but I am leading the field on colour issues and felt deeply for those dealt with here. Just coming to terms with ageism my self, but at 86 beyond caring too much about that. In this day and age it seems one can still think and feel BUT just do not spout about it, in case someone takes offence at friendly banter. What a challenge this book is. So much so I will read it all again.sheilashmor0
i actually read it before buying my own personal copy ( a friend lent me their copy) but doesnt that say enough about how brilliant this book is??? i rarely ever buy lent books but i simply had to get my own copy. God blesssss this book 10/10! absolutely no faults!far_9179

Reviews:
4.5⭐️’s I went into this book with very, very high expectations and was NOT DISAPPOINTED. I was terrified I wasn’t going to like it, but I ADORE THIS BOOK. Shane was incredibly relatable. In a world where it seems like everybody’s got relationship experience by high school, reading about a girl in college who’s never been in a relationship or been kissed is refreshing. Watching her deal with her anxiety and wanting to do and try new things inspired ME to want to go out and try new things. One of the things that I really loved about Shane, and the book itself, is [BEGINNING OF SPOILER]⚠️⚠️⚠️ how self-aware she is after she realizes she’s screwing up her second go at study abroad. She knew she didn’t want to be the person who didn’t exist outside of a relationship, which is something you don’t see often in the world. The fact that she set their relationship aside to make sure she followed her own dreams was incredible. Then, once she knew she’d accomplished what she’d set out to do and found herself again, she realizes she’s ready to re-enter the relationship. And I just really loved that. ⚠️⚠️⚠️[END OF SPOILER] The reason I took off half a star is because of the vagueness in cheating and that whole situation. I also wish we found out what happened to [BEGINNING OF SPOILER]⚠️⚠️⚠️ Amy after Pilot broke up with her. I felt really bad for Amy, and Pilot’s actions throughout the beginning of the whole study abroad redo bothered me. ⚠️⚠️⚠️[END OF SPOILER] Aside from that, I enjoyed it all. I’ve seen a lot of people saying they weren’t able to suspend their disbelief long enough to enjoy the second half of the book. I disagree with that, because what happens is similar to stories like Groundhog Day, 17 Again, 13 Going on 30, etc. If people can enjoy the magical aspects in those, they should be able to enjoy the magical aspects in Again, but Better.booksareamazing
Every person must read this book it is funny and amazing I have dyslexia and I found it a breeze to read and it is amazing just I dont know what else today the book is amazing I give this 10 out 5 starslekwil-49
I didn't like this book at all. I regret spending the money! The character is unlikeable, and very much based on the authors life. I love Christine's YouTube channel but I didn't love the writing. It was confusing and not well edited at all.Abby
12. E. Lockhart- Family Of Liars: The Prequel To We Were Liars
Product Details:
I anticipated that at some point a shocking twist would come. and, wow, does it ever. the new york times a perfect beach read. the boston globe a windswept private island off the coast of massachusetts. a hungry ocean, churning with secrets and sorrow. a fiery, addicted heiress. an irresistible, unpredictable boy. a summer of unforgivable betrayal and terrible mistakes. welcome back to the sinclair family. they were always liars.
Reviews:
Min nya favorit!! älskade den första delen (we we’re liars) och blev överlycklig när jag såg att denna kommit ut. Blir helt fast när man börjar läsa den. Rekommenderas att läsa första delen innan dock för att undvika lite spoilersNathalie C
Mycket bra enligt barnbarnetAnn F
Having already read and loved 'We Were Liars', I really enjoyed the prequel which gives a greater depth to the characters. The story is told from Carrie's perspective, a narrator so unreliable it almost opens up more questions than it answers, but this is the beauty of the duology – it is realistic because people are unreliable narrators of their own lives whether they like to admit it or not! The twist at the end of We Were Liars shocked me to the extent that I had to read the book immediately again. Despite being more dramatically subtle, Family of Liars has achieved the same, by giving new perspectives to the SInclair family, I will again be searching for my copy of We Were Liars. If you enjoy an unreliable narrator and a thriller with cleverly written twists coupled with the escapism of a 'perfect' setting, you will love it. Another success for E Lockhart – a book that just cannot be put down!sunshinesg

Reviews:
This is not a book review- this is a love letter to Chloe Gong. Chloe, my darling, first of all, I'm breaking up with you. How could you think that doing that to me was okay? Playing with my heart like that? We're over and I'm taking the books. I want a divorce. Kindly, your (distraught) reader xx Our Violent Ends is Romeo and Juliet's much more attractive and loveable younger sibling. Being the youngest, I can definitely sympathise ;). This book is like a high school relationship- It's not perfect, but it got me laughing, squealing and crying. All the good stuff, ya know. But really the best part of this book was that it is one of the few I have read that managed to achieve the perfect balance of plot- vs. character-driven storyline. And that despite being a retelling of one of the most renowned tragedy's in literature, it forged its own completely original path while still staying true to its muse, and in my opinion was plenty more impactful than Shakespeare. Our Violent Ends is a true tragedy. Although this book may be discounted by others due to its status as a YA novel, it is definitely worth the read. My personal highlight of this book were the characters, who were easy to love and perfectly multifaceted and complex. Roma, Juliette, Marshall, Benedikt, Rosalie and Kathleen were all beautifully written and easily the best part of the book. I can't wait to read any and all of Chloe Gong's future books, after all we do have joint custody over the books.Sav 🎷🦖
I loved this so much! While I enjoyed These Violent Delights, Gong took it up several notches for the duology’s conclusion. In Our Violent Ends we get more banter, romance, and violence, of course! The plot kept my full attention from start to finish. My favorites romance tropes are enemies to lovers and star crossed lovers. We get both of these in this book and I was here for all of it! I didn’t know if we are getting a tragic or happy ending and was at the edge of my seat to find out!JesOneMorePage

Reviews:
Huge fan of all of Colleen Hoovers books! I do think this one should be read in its series. A lot of her other series books work perfectly fine as a stand alone. I loved Verity better than this one, that’s the only reason it’s not getting a 5 star review. But really, you can’t go wrong with any of her books. And a lot of them are available at the local library. So check there first!lori.c
This book took me two days to complete. That's how much I love this book. I never wanted to put it down. This book/story makes you laugh, cry and feel. It's so intense. This book is a must have! This author Colleen Hoover has impressed me once again. All I can say is Maybe Someday……shouldn't be just someday you should be reading this book over and over.J.Vick loves books
I wish I could hate Colleen Hoover. The woman has now stolen a week's worth of sleep from me because of her books. And I know that I'd gladly lose more if it meant that I'd get to read her stories. Maybe Someday was such an amazing journey. I loved Sydney and a freaking LOVED Ridge so much. They were so raw and honest with their communication that it gave me hope that more writers would take note that you can create conflict in a story without resorting to a running heroine or miscommunication. And I completely understood Maggie. I had a sister in law in her same situation. I didn't understand some of the choices she made, but I know now why she made them. I can't wait for my next sleepless night at the hands of one of Colleen Hoover's books. Honestly, I wonder if I'd even love a grocery list she wrote- I'm that in awe of her talent.brandon.b

This is such a great read and I wanted a copy for my granddaughter to read. This was a hard copy in fabulous condition and was really cheap. I was so pleased to find it. It arrived more quickly than I expected and I was pleased in every way.brothersue2012
I originally read Stargirl for a high school and junior high school event that encompasses many area schools at our local college. I loved the character of Stargirl and all that she stands for. Her freedom to really be herself and enjoy her uniqueness is a message we can all learn from. Most of my students enjoyed it and were able to relate, on some level, to the main character or to Leo, her boyfriend. Leo continues to struggle with how much he enjoys Stargirl's differences but also wants her to lose those differences and conform to the world around them. This book has a low enough reading level that it should be accessible to most middle school and high school students.patricia1983
There is nothing in this book that I do not love with a passion. Please read it and enjoy Spinelli's amazing character development, symbolism and flare for telling a story that people want to finish. I read this back in 5th grade; I read this in 11th grade; I read this in college. I gave this book to an awesome female friend of mine whom I told reminded me of Stargirl and she loved it. I cannot honestly think of a better-written YA fiction novel out there.jonathandalstad
