I was thrilled when the scribed was announced. The notebooks are not as feature rich as Onyx Boox oe Remarkable devices, but for me it’s perfectly adequate for casual note taking. The size prevents comfortable usage as an ebook reader. Compared to the Oasis with the folding cover, it's just huge and not handy at all. The added functions to make it superior compared to a simple reader are rudimentary and simply not worth it. This is an excellent memoir of life in a disadvantaged community in rust-belt USA and how the author escapes from it and climbs the social ladder to achieve a successful career. However, whilst he achieved the American dream most people in the community did not and they still live in poverty surrounded by unemployment and drugs. The book sheds some light on why many people became disillusioned with the Washington elites and voted for Donald Trump in 2016. Whether he can solve their problems is a question unanswered.John

These three characters and (discovering if) my hopes for their futures were the only things that made me continue reading the story. Although the plot to the story wasn't enjoyed by myself, I think many others would like it. I LOVE Sarah Dessen. I will read whatever she comes out with no matter how old I am. What I really love about her books is I am immediately taken back to 16 with every one. I thought this was a perfect summer read and very relevant to today's culture. I don't really understand why no one really liked this book, I think it is one of my favorites. Also let's talk about the names in this book because they are kind of strange Louna, Ambrose, Jilly, Michael Salem??? However, I did feel toward the end the book was dragging on. You already knew what was going to happen and were literally just waiting for Louna to stop being such a baby, but I understand. There is an expectation among those who research such things that the end of world as it presently stands will not occur due to a war fought over oil religion or politics. Its final gasp will not be due to nuclear fallout or global warming. The end will come because of a natural occurring virus against which 99.99% of humanity has no resistance. That is the premise upon which Ms. Mandel launches what has all the markings of a remarkable trilogy. How humanity was whittled down to potentially extinction levels is of less importance in this story than how those who lived respond to being survivors of a sparsely populated world. The book opens with a production of Shakespeare's King Lear at Toronto's Elgin Theater. The death of the lead actor Jeeven Chaudhary star of stage and screen from a heart attack during Act IV is a death unrelated to the outbreak of 'The (Russian) Georgia Flu ' but it does set the tone for what will happen after the devastation that flu strain will bring is complete. This flu is so contagious incubates so quickly and is so deadly that humanity has no chance of adequately responding; Shakespeare is timeless and humanity has been responding to his works for centuries. One of the book's over-arching themes appears to be to highlight the difference from the 'temporary' from the 'transcendent.' Kristen Raymonde is an eight-year-old bit player on stage when 'King Lear' has his heart attack. In 'Year 15 ' as time is now measured from the beginning of The Collapse she is a member of a traveling Symphony and Shakespeare company. The book ends with many questions answered and new paths discovered. The 'end' did not feel like a conclusion Kristen's feeling as if 'it was time for humanity to cease' was confronted with a reason to hope. It's a story about moving forward, building relationships, and finding yourself. I'd forgotten how much this kind of story fills your heart with warmth. It was a much-needed read. I bought this about a month ago and I have to be honest, I didn’t know if I could get into it but WOAH I WAS WRONG. Piper is a young girl who loves to party and spends her step dads money and we see that at the beginning of the story which adds so much character development later. She is told to go to Westport as a punishment for her behaviour and Westport is where her dad died. The town is mostly populated with fishermen and a lot of them new and respected her dad. She meets Brendan Taggert there who finds her irritating at first but can’t seem to shake the sudden sexual attraction for her but believes it to be nothing else until he falls in love with her hard. Piper also feels attraction for Brendan and has to make the decision of staying in Wesport as she has matured a lot or going back to her wild party life. I LOVED THIS BOOK because Tessa Bailey rights it so well and at a good speed so none of it is rushed or too slow. It has good spicy scenes and a good balance of smut and overall such a good read once you get into it.Booklover27

I absolutely adored this book. It's the story of the relationship between these two people, Sam and Sadie who met in a hospital when they were kids and end up making games together when they grow up. It's a wonderful exploration of the deep, messy and yet incredibly strong relationship between the pair of them, which is not a sexual one, and I found it fascinating. It is not always a smooth relationship, but it's one where it's so clear to the reader how much they mean to each other and it makes the rough times tragic, especially when you jump from one of their perspectives to the other. I also felt that it was interestingly told, too. For example, for the first section of the book it is constantly jumping between them as kids in the hospital and them 8 years later when in uni, while also throwing in some quotes from them in the future about this time period that they give in a Kotaku interview. It's a book so full of love and struggle and I just found such it a wonderful read. It made me cry.Alexandre T.

Its like the book has an agenda made by the author… MC is absolutely unlikable, feminist liberal with a nasty attitude and woe is me personality.
