If you have scrolled down to these reviews (which me and at least 33 other people didn't) YOU WILL NOT GET FOUR NOTEBOOKS…you will get ONE for all your money. I requested a refund and then found FIVE notebooks for $13 from another vendor. I don't like to give bad reviews, I promise, but the way they present their product and the language used in the description (ie. notebookS, coverS, etc) along with the picture of all four notebooks together, makes it seems as if you are getting all four. I never thought I would need to check the reviews on NOTEBOOKS of all things! In all fairness, I should add that if paying over $6.00 for a single notebook is your kind of fun, then these are definitely your people. Just sayin.HappyCamper
I would give 0 stars if I could. I was so disappointed when two arrived. I thought I would get a pack of 4 like shown in the picture. Needless to say: these will be returned and I will get them at target. I do a lot of writing so I elect to use fountain pens. Various art forums had stated that Mead has a decent quality paper in their composition books. There are composition books that LOOK like Mead, but look closely, because they are NOT Mead, and their paper is crap, those are made in Thailand or some other 3rd world country. They have paper that bleeds through with fountain pen ink and they suck. I ordered a genuine Mead this time, and it works great with fountain pens, so the comments on the various fountain pen forums were right. I recommend the Mead composition books!hottrod41

As an art teacher, I am always looking for alternatives to the expensive sketchbooks you find at art stores for my students to use. This unruled composition book is perfect. It's sturdy enough to last, small enough to be portable, big enough for drawings and notes, and best of all it's blank/no lines (which is very hard to find in stores). I get it. Darker is better. Broodier. Like Kylo Ren and a bottle of Cab Sauv. Complex. The problem, in this case, is that the quad ruling printed on the pages is way too dark. It's unusable. The ruling should be a guide, a subtle background delineation to help arrange and organize, align and suggest. It shouldn't overwhelm content, which is exactly what it does. The lines are so dark that it's almost impossible to decipher whatever you've written over it. The binding is okay, and the covers seem to be fairly sturdy, though not as good as previous purchases I've made. None of that matters if it's impossible to use the product as intended. In a word: Useless.

I do a lot of writing so I elect to use fountain pens. Various art forums had stated that Mead has a decent quality paper in their composition books. There are composition books that LOOK like Mead, but look closely, because they are NOT Mead, and their paper is crap, those are made in Thailand or some other 3rd world country. They have paper that bleeds through with fountain pen ink and they suck. I ordered a genuine Mead this time, and it works great with fountain pens, so the comments on the various fountain pen forums were right. I recommend the Mead composition books!hottrod41
