Reviews:
It has an interesting idea but unfortunately has been written in a style that is very tedious. I understand and appreciate the need to make something other than a dense academic study into this topic but I do think this goes too far in the other direction and therefore does not make it a compelling read.bingotclown
I was so surprised to discover that this book arrived in the perfect condition; I thought for a moment that I had accidentally ordered a brand new copy! Luckily for me, the previous owner was extremely light on the pages, so the quality is flawless. The book itself is one I've read before that I wanted to have around for future inspiration. If ever I'm feeling unmotivated, now I can look to it for its tremendous insight 🙂darachristia
Oprah…darn her. I'm retired, feet up and relaxing. Why should I read a book and especially one on self-examination of one's life purpose. For me, that boat must have sailed years ago. Here again I've procrastinated, now late in the evening I'm reading Pressfield's book and unable to put it down until the last word and the early morning's light has come. When you have a Muse, a driving force (however you which to describe it) that beleaguers you, drives you and gives you no rest, what can you do? Give in. This certainly is unlike any motivational book I've EVER read. But it will change you profoundly and hopefully for the better. As it has me. A must read.padap123

Nice to find an activity book that is relaxing and soothing but also inspirational. I bought this for my fourteen year old daughter whose going into high school this year. Hopefully it will give her peace.Melba M.
I was surprised pleasantly at the different complexities of design however; the pages were not perforated nor thick enough for most marker use. I would need to take on the expense in taking off the binding and having them spiral bound or cut.for me. I would prefer to pay another dollar to have it upgraded.Sandra E.
This book was great for me because I am a beginner in adult coloring. The pages are not totally covered in art to be colored in. There is a worded message on each page.Gwynneth C.

If you are working your way through the book :The Artist's Way, then this is the help you may need. It certainly has all the tasks listed and room to write if you want to.peach565
I like the workbook because I find that her writing in the "Artist Way" doesn't relate to me. So just doing the tasks and questions on a daily basis and skipping her writing on the weekly subject matter I find more beneficial. Of course I am probably not getting as much out of it as I should but these tasks help me anyway. I learn about where my issues lie. It is an exploration of self and for that I am thankful.gaptoothsmile

10. In The Beginning– Creativity [Book]
Product Details:
Gordon kaufman's bold and highly regarded works over the last thirty years have pushed theologians to examine honestly, if painfully, their most cherished assumptions about god. he then demonstrates how these concepts of god have become out of sync with contemporary understandings of the world and humanity. he offers an alternative concept by distinguishing the different modalities of creativity as they figure in the creation of the universe, the cosmic evolutionary process (especially the emergence of life), and human symbolic creativity. finally, he sketches their interconnections and demonstrates in what way they stand for the divine.this volume not only develops further than ever before kaufman's idea of god as creativity but also shows what it would mean to think of god in this way, to live with faith in this god, and to cooperate with the divine in meeting our most pressing challenges.
Reviews:
I bought this book because I know the author personally, and respect his intellect. There is a group that meets monthly to look at faith from a New Perspective. We are artists, Counsellors, Theologians, teachers, etc. and Kaufman's book portrays God via a new set of images that opens new windows for worship, theological thinking. His book on how we comprehend the word "GOD", and then see God as Serendipitous Creativity is stimulating, and worth reading. It is not a simple read, but is well worth the time it takes. It would be excellent reading for creative thoughtful thinkers.donwbgolf

15. An Audience Of One: Reclaiming Creativity For Its Own Sake [Book]

Product Details:
The creator of the unmistakable creative podcast makes a counterintuitive argument: by focusing your creative work on pleasing yourself, you can increase your productivity, happiness, and (eventually, paradoxically) the size of your audience. creating for your own pleasure–whether you're writing a novel, composing songs, or painting a landscape–can seem pointless. it's tempting to focus on pursuing money and fame, rather than the process itself. but as srini rao warns, creating then turns into a chore that can harm your self-esteem and suck the pleasure out of life, rather than being a source of joy. in this book he shares the fascinating true stories of creatives who took this path, along with actionable tips and the research of creativity experts. you'll learn, for example: – how oprah's intentional focus on her own work rather than the opinions of everyone else catapulted her into one of the most popular talk shows of all time. – how being process-driven can not only help you produce more work, but can make you happier outside of your creative time. – how to put together a creative team of rivals whose feedback can help you hone your craft and filter out useless feedback.

This may be the single most important title ever written when it comes to creativity and understanding how the "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts"! Whether it be rock bands (the Beatles), or science (Madame Curry), Artists (Michaelangelo) they all lived at a time when others like them also lived, and the "Sparks" of Genius built began to fly in their time. Great achievements were the results! In our day it is no different. We have lived through a renaissance of music since the 60's (for example). Why do these era's of creativity only come along sporadically? And could any of us encourage additional "sparks of genius"? Get the book, and may the sparks exponentially increase!djtate2002
