Reviews:
I have already read the book. Wanted my own copy. The author's insider view helps you to feel as if you are traveling this history with him. This is history, there are special units all thru history, but this is a chance to read and study what it takes to stop terrorism. What he talks about is only a drop in the bucket. There are no vulgarities, no political rants, or we are the only good guys. He sticks to telling how he joined, what they did to reach the skills they needed to accomplish the missions. Very informative without giving away secrets. Highly recommended read.scmdjg
The book is excellent, the historical approach and current shows us the real meaning and purpose of the formation of such anti-terrorist group, the needs of its creation and the difficulty faced today, and has an engaging narrative and captivating. One of the best books I have ever read. I recommend!piumbanf
Eric Haney does an incredible job in this book of bringing you there and filling you in on all the details of the training and operations of an elite unit Delta Force. He gives you the necassary background and history of Delta Force and himself. Throughout the book he tells true stories of what it was like in different historical events from the veiw of an operative. From Beirut to Panama to different hostage situations he tells the plan and the execution of different situations. He also begins by telling what the training and requirements were like. Just an incredible feat to be such an elite member. Highly recommend this book to any one involved in or curious about our elite operations forces!kuntak

Reviews:
There weren't quite as many bad words as I expected, which was nice, but there were still plenty! Other than that, great book! Very interesting! It ends with Operation Eagle Claw, so it doesn't include any recent events. I would also recommend "Never Surrender" by Jerry Boykin, if you're interested in Delta Force.pj_morrissey
Great read about our Special Forces!091127

As a Marine Combat Vet I was not impressed ….. Is this our new military leaders?!? The new "Delta" is about today's pop culture not a about a Warrior Culture, God Help Us!joshuagroupe
I found this book to be extremely interesting as it dealt with the TTPs -Tactics, Techniques and Procedures used by Delta Force. It was filled with "Lessons Learned" written by a former Delta Force Commander who had experienced repeated combat operations. So many books today written by Special Operations personnel are a collection of war stories and "Hard Partying." Refreshingly, that was not the case with this book which made it well worth the read.pjf70
From a former Army Ranger 3rd Batt/75th and worked with Pete several times I absolutely loved this book. A must read, Not only for your personal life, but for your Professional life as well. Rangers Lead the Way……… Operation Just Cause 12/20/1989jakoenigiii
4. Kill Bin Laden: A Delta Force Commander's Account Of The Hunt For The World's Most Wanted Man [Book]

Product Details:
The mission was to kill the most wanted man in the world—an operation of such magnitude that it couldn't be handled by just any military or intelligence force. the best america had to offer was needed. as such, the task was handed to roughly forty members of america's supersecret counterterrorist unit formally known as 1st special forces operational detachment-delta; more popularly, the elite and mysterious unit delta force. told by senior ranking military officer dalton fury, this is the real story of the operation, the first eyewitness account of the battle of tora bora, and the first book to detail just how close delta force came to capturing bin laden, how close u.s. bombers and fighter aircraft came to killing him, and exactly why he slipped through our fingers. lastly, this is an extremely rare inside look at the shadowy world of delta force and a detailed account of these warriors in battle.
Reviews:
This book has an interesting topic, its a very slow start, and the information in the book is stuff the public already knows. There is nothing new to find out by reading this book. I understand that the government has to keep certain things quiet, but to sell a book based on information already released is boring. The author doesn't seem very creative. With any little bit of military background and minor research on the Bin Laden chase, I could have written the book myself.kimberlya1984
This book focuses mainly on Tora Bora, and not so much as the kill. But it's very great, and by one of the few Delta Force operators to write a book! I really liked it and recommend it!pj_morrissey
Have read his novels so wanted to know about the real guy.jpccoj-xy7ja9ftg

Book Review The Ether Zone: Delta Force in Vietnam by Ray Morris. Project Delta was formed in Nha Trang, Vietnam in 1964 as a joint Vietnamese and CIDG reconnaissance project headed by the U.S. Special Forces. Its original code name was LEAPING LENA but it was soon renamed Project Delta 5th Special Forces Detachment B-52. In a war that spawned a myriad of elite operations, Project Delta become one of the most successful. The units base strength was 11 officers and 82 enlisted men from the Special Forces, a 105 man CIDG Nung Security Company, 20 officers and 78 enlisted men from the Vietnamese Special Forces (LLDB), a 123 man CIDG Roadrunner Company and the 81st Airborne Vietnamese Army Ranger Battalion with 43 officers and 763 enlisted men. The US 281st AHC was attached for aviation support as well as USAF Forward Air Controllers (figures from the Delta B52 web page). Their mission was to conduct reconnaissance missions directly into NVA/VC areas of operations. These missions included Bomb Damage Assessment, POW snatches, rescue of allied personnel, disruption of known enemy trails, as well as other psy-ops and intelligence activities. The USSF / ARVN Recon and Roadrunner teams inserted into often heavily patrolled NVA territory to complete their missions and tosay the hazards were great is an understatement! Project Delta contributed greatly to the US effort in Vietnam and Detachment B-52 was awarded the Valorous Unit Award, RVN Cross of Gallantry, RVN Civil Actions Honor Medal (PC) and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. Deactivated in June of 1970, 29 men of Project Delta are listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Ray Morris book is an excellent read and apparently sanctioned by the Delta Force Association of veterans. It lays out the details of numerous missions run by B-52 and gives insights and personal details from interviews with Delta combatants. It is a picture of the ferocity of the jungle war in Vietnam and of the successes that could occur under competent officers with well trained forces with excellent cooperation between Delta and their Vietnamese counterparts. I was unpleasantly surprised to find several on-line book reviews that questioned some glaring factual errors in Morriss accounts. The story of the wound Colonel Beckwith received that took him out action with Delta and actions at Gai Dinh. As one reviewer, an 18 month in-country Delta officer, wrote Although the author claims to have done extensive research and cross checking with members of Project Delta, the text of The Ether Zone showsotherwise. Each experience of the Delta Project men edited by Morris, should stand alone. They demonstrate the professionalism, unique expertise, and bravery of the Delta men, especially the Delta Recon men. The books stands as an excellent read and a good accounting of the unit with much excellent information but apparently, as in the recent debates, some Fact Checking is in order.wartimecollectables.com

Reviews:
This is a great little book which could have been done as an inexpensive paperback with many fewer pages — because there's very little need for rules in this game. It's bleak, and dark, and your characters will certainly die a horrid death. Very little need for extended combat options and the like. But at least they made the package beautiful and usable, which helps justify the expense of the hardcover.David B

Reviews:
All Brad Taylor Books are exciting to read. This one was no exception. A great read.peahill42
Pike Logan and his team of shooters are for reals!SHAWN
Polaris Protocol is the third in the series I have either read or am reading and I have three more already purchased to read. I like the fact that it is somewhat of a continuing story through all the books with Pike's and Jennifer's characters referring back to previous books. The stories are fast and compelling. The chapters are short thus allowing me to put it down without losing content. Taylor writes with a lot of information on military weapons and any veteran would would relate to them. In the three books have read I found only one mistake when he wrote that he could hear the safety on the Glock click off. Glocks have no safety.corvettejl9
