Reviews:
I found this book and bible study being offered online at a time when I needed less pain to carry around with me. I am really enjoying the book and the bible study. The book explores the concept that forgiveness is not a one time act but rather a process which resonates with me. I would encourage others who have carried anger and bitterness towards others to give this book and it's message a chance. Healing and forgive is possible.Anne V.
I will never use this company to buy a book again. Ordered the workbook and book to do an online study and for the workbook and no book. Had to buy the audible version and asked for a refund on the back ordered book. Then they said no it was shipped. Three weeks later I still haven’t gotten the book. By the time I actually get it (if I get it)the study will be over. POOR SERVICE!!!Starla B.
It is very compelling story. The way she explains her emotions and how to process with it all and be able to forgive something that cant forgotten and left in the past. But with the graciousness of God we will be able to. Just like God has forgiven us we should be willing to be merciful to that person who hurt us.mercycb1087

Forgiveness is a choice is a self-help book for people who have been deeply hurt by another and caught in a vortex of anger, depression, and resentment. as a creator of the first scientifically proven forgiveness program in the country, robert d. enright shows how forgiveness can reduce anxiety and depression while increasing self-esteem and hopefulness toward one's future. this groundbreaking work demonstrates how forgiveness, approached in the correct manner, benefits the forgiver far more than the forgiven. filled with wisdom and warm encouragement, the book leads the reader on a path that will bring clarity and peace. enright is careful to distinguish forgiveness from "pseudoforgiveness" and to reassure readers that forgiveness does not mean accepting continued abuse or even reconciling with the offender. rather, by giving the gift of forgiveness, readers are encouraged to confront and let go of their pain in order to regain their lives.

I found this book to be one helpful tool in my arsenal to fight against bitterness and unforgiveness in my life. It also helped me realize some ways in which I had signs of not forgiving myself. Other books that go well with this one are: The Bible (particularly Josephs story), and When Youve Been Wronged by Erwin Lutzer. Also much orayer, and I also recommend YouTube sermons regarding bitterness or rejection. Keep in mind tat no one gets away with anything, God will judge fairly, even Christians. Reviews:
I have bought this little book for at least a dozen people. Anyone who has had some trauma in their childhood can benefit by reading this daily. Whenever they start the book, I suggest they sit quietly and read 10 pages at a time from the beginning to catch up and experience the wonderful insight into recovery. Also, read each day, starting from day book is received. Go forward with both suggestions until end of year and then start over again. Im on my 25th year of reading and it stills great value.danc.joa
I was never a person who looked within to solve my problems. My go to was to blame others. This book made me not only look within myself, a scary thought to me, but to look at my part in my life. Discovered I was stronger than I ever thought. Letting go was the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done. Melodie Beatty is my hero. Never can repay what this book did for me.buonvoyage
Even though this book was written as part of a 12-step program I believe it can be useful to all that read it. This book pertains to many situations in life, not just addiction. I have had this book in my own life for many years. I just recently purchased this one for a young co-worker who is on a journey down the path of recovery trying to help her mother. Even though the daughter does not have an addiction she has lived with someone who does. I received this book myself from a co-worker when I had just left an abusive marriage having been married to an alcoholic for many years. This was my spritual bible for a long time. I still refer to it when life seems overwhelming. This book is for anyone that personally struggles with any addiction and also for those who know, love and/or live with someone that has an addiction. Even if you aren't the one with the addiction this book helps you to better understand the situation, theirs and yours. As much as we'd like to think we are immune and are not affected by someone else's behavior, we are and can be affected. Recovery, whether you are the addict or a victim of someone's addiction, is a process. It takes time and alot of hard work. This book helps all to have hope, to recover and to heal. I feel blessed to have received this book at the time I did. I know it helped me to get through the aftermath of my divorce and the years that followed as a single mom. It gave me hope and strength. I believe this is a book you will keep near you and will read again and again. Enjoy the journey!vjdancin55
