1. I'm Glad My Mom Died (Hardcover) Simon & Schuster

Product Details:
Jennette mccurdy details how she overcame harrowing struggles as a child tv star—including anorexia and bulimia, addiction, severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and a traumatic relationship with her mother. a heartbreaking and hilarious memoir by icarly and sam & cat star jennette mccurdy about her struggles as a former child actor—including eating disorders, addiction, and a complicated relationship with her overbearing mother—and how she retook control of her life. jennette mccurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. so she went along with what mom called “calorie restriction,” eating little and weighing herself five times a day. she endured extensive at-home makeovers while mom chided, “your eyelashes are invisible, okay? you think dakota fanning doesn’t tint hers?” she was even showered by mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. in i’m glad my mom died, jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail—just as she chronicles what happens when the dream finally comes true. cast in a new nickelodeon series called icarly, she is thrust into fame. though mom is ecstatic, emailing fan club moderators and getting on a first-name basis with the paparazzi (“hi gale!”), jennette is riddled with anxiety, shame, and self-loathing, which manifest into eating disorders, addiction, and a series of unhealthy relationships. these issues only get worse when, soon after taking the lead in the icarly spinoff sam & cat alongside ariana grande, her mother dies of cancer. finally, after discovering therapy and quitting acting, jennette embarks on recovery and decides for the first time in her life what she really wants. told with refreshing candor and dark humor, i’m glad my mom died is an inspiring story of resilience, independence, and the joy of shampooing your own hair.
Reviews:
The story of the struggle for success in Hollywood, particularly that of a reluctant child and an obsessed stage mother is well-worn territory. So what made this worth reading? Ms. McCurdy spent several years as a Nickleodean star in the early 2000s, even dabbling in a recording career. What makes this so compelling is her ability and willingness to share painful and unique details of her life, as well as that of her families' struggles, and how she was manipulated by her Mother and other adults at the network. She draws you in with a competing conversational style, and doesn't hold back on anything. By the end of the book, the reader is left feeling both moved and pleased with her decisions and intelligence in deciding to move beyond the grief left behind by her experiences. I was drawn from page to page and finished it in one sitting. I'll probably reread it more slowly, to be able to contemplate her unsparing exposition of the path she took to reach this point in her life. I wish her well. Buy it!fisheye

Reviews:
I first encountered PON in 2006 and started reading it then. Once you read this book you can't go back to your old ways of being, well you can but you are not "unaware" any longer so it makes it hard to live in the old way you are used to. I struggled with it as all who start reading do, It plants a seed and with your cooperation it grows. You will struggle with it as all do, some people more then others, then with cooperation, determination and consistency your world changes. You're view points of the world change, the way you deal with challenging people and situations changes. You are now cooperating with life and life is able to now help you. I also found doing around 10 minutes of meditation at the start of my day gets me "dialed in" to practice living in the now all day long. I was a total mess in 2006, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But it's 2018 and I'm the healthiest I've ever been cause of Echkart Tolle and his books. I'm ontop of the world, and I'm at peace with life, It's down right Awesome! Buy It! It's the best thing you can do for yourself and those around you. Also buy "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle and "Miltons Secret" he wrote it for children. Enjoy this book and learn to enjoy life!.usa_emporium
I have offered this book to twelve personal friends (thus far….) Three of them, without communicating with the other individuals, have come to me and said that it was, "the best gift anyone (inside or outside of their family) has ever given to them." I had nothing to do with the book – but continue to feel that I am pointing folks in the right direction. If you're reading this – you were supposed to… I hope this note / book will help you too.lfhunt1
I will preface my review by saying that these type of books are generally very polarizing: either you love it because the message speaks clearly to your heart, or you're compelled to prove it inaccurate because it does not. Having said that, I truly love this book because it has the special ability to always put me in that state of amazement whenever I read it. I have read it beginning to end, but I really use it to help me enter the 'now' by reading just a few passages. For me, it does not matter which passage, I can literally open any page and read a few lines, and I am there. Even thinking about this book relaxes my mind and puts me in that state. For that, I consider it very special. This is probably the 5th or 6th copy I am buying, because I keep giving them away. I don't claim that this is the only book that can do such a thing, but it does for me. I can also totally understand if you think it's a bunch of crap, but I can't deny what it does for me, and maybe in the end that's truly what's important.omni_deals

Reviews:
Like every other person on BookTok, I was told to read this series. I had fallen out of my love of reading, and was barely reading ten books a year. I blew through this entire series. So much so that I was annoyed with work for having the gaul to make me do my job during reading hours. The twists and the turns in this series are amazing. Is it the best book you've ever read, or the most well written, no. but it's enjoyable as hell.courtney.h
Where do I even start? Well I may be late to the ride, but I finally started to read this series, after seeing it everywhere and do you know what they didn’t lie. This book was incredible, with not just the story of Feyre and what started out as a punishment for her actions, but into a love story where she needed to be strong and save the one she love and all those around her in the different courts. The writing was truly magical, there is something about Sarah who can truly make you imagine what your are reading with her words, the description of the places abs people as well as the emotions, and captivating and engaging. There are so many memorable moments in this book and I am itching to start the next to find out what happens next with them all. I can see why this has been so hyped up and I can’t wait to read more and all Sarah’s other books if they are as incredible as this one!! I highly recommend if you haven’t already!!rebecca.p
So this is a really good book! I was nervous as the reviews on Amazon were not so great. However Acotnr kept showing up on my tik tok account and I was in awe about all the hype so I gave it a chance! Listen to me carefully, ignore all reviews and read it for yourself. If you hate it that’s ok read the second anyways. The first one is just a background and an explanation for the main characters growing. The second one though omg!!! This book is spicy all day long, but isn’t just spice. It’s got an amazing fantasy story line! I read this book in 3 days staying up till 2am to finish it! I was left torn, confused, joyful, in love, ready to tackle my husband into the bed, and wanting more! This series is incredibleanna .p
7. Book Lovers [Book]

Product Details:
Named a most anticipated book of 2022 by oprah daily ∙ today ∙ parade ∙ marie claire ∙ bustle ∙ popsugar ∙ katie couric media ∙ book bub ∙ shereads ∙ medium ∙ and more! one summer. two rivals. a plot twist they didn't see coming… nora stephens' life is books–she's read them all–and she is not that type of heroine. not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. in fact, the only people nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister libby. which is why she agrees to go to sunshine falls, north carolina for the month of august when libby begs her for a sisters' trip away–with visions of a small town transformation for nora, who she's convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. but instead of picnics in meadows, or run-ins with a handsome country doctor or bulging-forearmed bartender, nora keeps bumping into charlie lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. it would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they've met many times and it's never been cute. if nora knows she's not an ideal heroine, charlie knows he's nobody's hero, but as they are thrown together again and again–in a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow–what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they've written about themselves. Emily Henry has done it again. This book made me laugh so hard I woke up the neighbor's dog at 6am (sweet revenge). I laughed, I cried and I didn't want it to end while dying to know how it ended. 8. The Answers Are There [Book]

Product Details:
A new architecture for peaceour world desperately needs new ways to support community transformation. in the answers are there, libby hoffman shows us what is possible when outside aid animates, rather than obstructs, local leadership and recognizes and honors community wisdom, priorities, and resources. this book shares stories of individual and communal transformation in sierra leone, where the culture of community was nearly destroyed by civil war. but the unique approach of fambul tok ("family talk")-anchoring reconciliation in indigenous traditions of communal truth-telling, apology, and forgiveness-restored that culture and unleashed a powerful resource for national healing. fambul tok's core conviction-that ordinary people have the creativity, capacity, and determination to transform their communities according to their own needs and desires-changed a country, and with it, international peace and development.hoffman shares her learning journey as a peacebuilder and as fambul tok's co-founder, funder, and program partner. her diligent, compassionate reflection on tending to community, to systemic failures, and to her own heart invites readers into "building peace from the inside out." the answers are there masterfully blends lived experience, thought leadership, and actionable techniques, inspiring and equipping readers to grow whole, healthy systems in the world.
Reviews:
This book was a challenging read in a good way. It makes you think about how you are living in peace with those around you. We often look to others to change our world, our problems, our issues. But what if, instead, we look within and see how we can be the first to change. Reading the passion in Ms. Hoffman's desire to help a country heal and giving the tools to begin that process was inspiring. She doesn't promise a quick nor easy fix, but rather the steps to start. The follow up will be up to each of us that choose to be the change in the world for more peace. I was moved by her personal account of the transformation within her own journey. And she inspired me to start making my own transformation. Highly recommend this book if you want to be part of the change toward peace starting right where you live. Disclaimer: I received a digital copy of this book from the author with no expectation in return. My thoughts and comments above are my own.Tammy K.

Reviews:
This little book about the reading life was an absolute delight! I read numerous reviews that contain the words charming, winsome, delightful, lovely, and witty to describe this enjoyable book with which I would wholeheartedly agree. My only complaint, which is not truly a complaint, is that my TBR pile grew greatly during the reading of this book. If you love reading and all things bookish I can highly recommend this jewel of a book. Happy Reading!Angie
Quick read for book nerds. It validated all the reasons I love to read and gave me "permission" to read what I enjoy, not what I think I "should" be reading. This would be a good gift for a reading buddy. Anne gives good book recommendations. If you haven't listened to her podcast, "What Should I Read Next," check it out. I haven't been disappointed in any of the books I've read from her suggestions and many are included in this book.Wendy
Anne Bogel's delightful essay collection speaks the language of book lovers, bookworms, and book people. If you have shelves overflowing with titles you love (and plenty you haven't loved yet except because they're pretty), if you are on a first name basis with the librarian or the a bookshop owner, if you start conversations extolling the virtues of the book you just finished that everyone else should read RIGHT NOW, you need this book in your life. Bogel tells stories of her own reading life, and of the lives of her readers, bringing us all into the best place in the world–among those who love reading. this book was good! the second i got it i was so excited to read it! however, i was partially disappointed and DNF'ed around page 200 but later picked it up again. on my second try, i was invested and the reveal had me SOBBING! (UPCOMING SPOILERS WATCH OUT!!!!) i feel like pip changed personality too quick at the end, being a good girl obsessed with her grades and then blandly coming out super publicly that she cheated on her EPQ (i don't actually remember what it was called…) is just out of character and it's a really quick behavioural change….
A good girls guide to murder started off strong and ended with such an unexpected scene that I couldn't wait to pick up the next book. I loved Pippa and Ravi's dynamic friendship and how it played such a heartwarming role in the story. Even when the crime was solved, I had a hard time believing how Holly perfectly fit him as the villain while making him seem innocent and detached from the crime. I am very excited to continue the series and read more of Holly Jackson's books I one hundred percent recommend this series. Please put it in your book list or read it! It is the best murder mystery I have read❤️Reading is life
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely adored this book. It is a YA mystery/ thriller. With that being said, this is one of the best YA books I have read. The plot and character development were amazing. There were multiple characters throughout the book, but they were really easy to keep track of. I really enjoyed seeing the emails and interview transcripts throughout the book. It made me feel like I was Pip trying to solve this mystery. And let me tell you, I was totally shocked by whodunnit. I am a HUGE true crime podcast lover, so when I started this book it really reminded me of the podcast serial when they cover Adnan Syed’s case. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone, especially if you liked this book. And vice versa. I was please that this book did not seem like it was modeled exactly from this real life case though, and just had some similarities.jordan.w

Excited to play Call of The Netherdeep, it will make an excellent gift for my DM husband.Israel H.
Great service. will shop again. ThanksBeck
To begin with, as always with Mercer and crowd, the writing and world-building are solid. Whether you're running your campaign in Exandria, or just borrowing elements for another world, there is plenty to play with. More Vestiges, of course, as well as the kind of kindred idea of the other party (be they rivals, enemies or allies -even friends). Like the Vestiges, as everyone knows, they level with the players. What isn't as widely said is that they each have very believable, empathetic motives, goals and personalities. They are likeable. It goes very well with the Tal'dorei and Wildemount books. Now, all we need is one for the continents of Marquet and Issylra. The K.E.
