1. The Satanic Bible By Anton Lavey
Product Details:
Called "the black pope" by many of his followers, anton la vey began the road to high priesthood of the church of satan when he was only 16 years old and an organ player in a carnival: "on saturday night i would see men lusting after halfnaked girls dancing at the carnival, and on sunday morning when i was playing the organ for tent-show evangelists at the other end of the carnival lot, i would see these same men sitting in the pews with their wives and children, asking god to forgive them and purge them of carnal desires. and the next saturday night they'd be back at the carnival or some other place of indulgence. "i knew then that the christian church thrives on hypocrisy, and that man's carnal nature will out!"

Reviews:
Lavey's insightful glimpse at a handful of early occult enclaves and their practices is punctuated by filler in the form of "magic spells" as fanciful as anything in Harry Potter.Clark
Small book easy to hide from those who wouldnt want you to have it, informative, might not be the easiest sentence structure to understand but you get used to it. Well worth it.hannwigmor0

6. The Satanic Narratives: A Modern Satanic Bible [Book]
Product Details:
The satanic narratives – a modern satanic bible is a foundational text thoroughly deconstructing satan, the adversarial archetype and the individualism of the left-hand path. this updated satanic bible marks a reformation in the religion of satanism, accessible to the average reader and philosopher alike. satanists who struggled to find meaning in lavey's rand-inspired social darwinism, will embrace this new focus on activism and social justice.while the skepticism and secular ethics mirror that of humanism, this satanic philosophy goes much further: incorporating rebellion, unrelenting perseverance, being the outcast, the individualist, and the adversary. the characteristics of each aspect of the satan archetype are meticulously explained and linked to the philosophy presented. this not only justifies why it is worthy of the name "satanism", but also answers the question of why it can only be called "satanism".

7. The Secret History Of Lucifer: The Ancient Path To Knowledge And The Real Da Vinci Code [Book]

Product Details:
Who is lucifer? the orthodox christian view tells us that he challenged god, fell from heaven, tempted eve and created death and suffering. then he became satan, horned king of hell. yet as lynn picknett explains, devil was only a new incarnation of the old woodland deity pan, while lucifer was a personification of the morning star, the planet venus and its goddess. 'he' was therefore originally 'she', and a divine representation of love, beauty and human warmth. indeed, many ancient goddesses were known as lucifera, or 'light-bringer' – an honour extended to mary magdalene in her true role as goddess-worshipping priestess and christ's successor. while thousands follow lucifer in order to achieve earthly wealth and power; picknett explains that such misguided behaviour is far from true luciferan principles – the audacious pushing ever outwards of the limits of human knowledge, startlingly exemplified by the little-known heresies of leonardo da vinci. ironically, controversial modern scientists, who see no proof of a god, much less of a devil, may possess the key to the existence of the old archetypal adversaries.

Reviews:
Another great book from Lynn Picknett & Clive Prince which ties in well with their other books on similar subjects. A further study in to the historically luciferian traits of people, places, thoughts and activities. Very enjoyable especially if you are expecting another great tie in to the Templar/Jesus/MaryMagdalene tie from the other books and a little more…
Great reading. I like to see myths and beliefs exposed for any fiction they contain.DNA buff
This is the second of Lynn Picknetts books I have read. I found The Secret History of Lucifer to be thought provoking and well written, although I did think it made a few leaps of faith and was filled with shameless plugs of the authors prevoius work!!! All in all a great read and an excellent introduction to a topic I will certainly be researching in the future.Chris Ypelaan
8. The Satanic Verses [Book]

Product Details:
#1 new york times bestseller – “[a] torrent of endlessly inventive prose, by turns comic and enraged, embracing life in all its contradictions. in this spectacular novel, verbal pyrotechnics barely outshine its psychological truths.”—newsdaywinner of the whitbread prizeone of the most controversial and acclaimed novels ever written, the satanic verses is salman rushdie’s best-known and most galvanizing book. set in a modern world filled with both mayhem and miracles, the story begins with a bang: the terrorist bombing of a london-bound jet in midflight. two indian actors of opposing sensibilities fall to earth, transformed into living symbols of what is angelic and evil. this is just the initial act in a magnificent odyssey that seamlessly merges the actual with the imagined. a book whose importance is eclipsed only by its quality, the satanic verses is a key work of our times.praise for the satanic verses“rushdie is a storyteller of prodigious powers, able to conjure up whole geographies, causalities, climates, creatures, customs, out of thin air.”—the new york times book review“exhilarating, populous, loquacious, sometimes hilarious, extraordinary . . . a roller-coaster ride over a vast landscape of the imagination.”—the guardian (london)“a novel of metamorphoses, hauntings, memories, hallucinations, revelations, advertising jingles, and jokes.
Reviews:
I was a kid when the controversy around this book hit, and I guess for that reason I always thought it was a very heavy, tedious, high-brow work. In fact, "The Satanic Verses" is a fun and funny narrative. The style reminded me of Gabriel Garcia Marquez — the lines between the supernatural and the mundane are erased. For Western readers who do not know as much about Islam as they might like to think (count me as one!), the book can actually serve as a guided tour of the religion. As I read this book, I looked up every event and name that seemed significant and I learned so much about Islam. It also becomes obvious why some Muslims would be offended. "The Satanic Verses" shakes the premise of the faith moreso than "The DaVinci Code" or "The Last Temptation of Christ" does Christianity. The last fifty or so pages were so intense that I could only read them in short bursts. I am usually bored with fiction because most authors telegraph plot and character developments. Nothing is a surprise, you can see it coming a mile away. "The Satanic Verses" kept me guessing and challenged. It was the most satisfying reading experience I've had in a while.J
This book was very surprising. Salman Rushdie has a very different way of telling a story; it is a better way. It is a great story which touches upon social issues in India, racial and ethnic differences between Indians and English people. Racism, ethnocentrism and finally religious nonsense all are embedded into this book into the story skillfully. The stories of Cahilia and Muhammad are right on stories even if those stories upset people, they are historically accurate descriptions even though the book is a fiction. This book is a masterpiece. The metamorphosis was the one part that took my imagination by surprise it is a great way of explaining racism and discrimination. Indians must read this book because the book is very much written in Indian ways and within their cultural scope. I had hard time about understanding some of the cultural references but I really like this book.CW
Salman Rushdie is an artist…I read passages aloud throughout just to hear them. He plays with words, sculpts and shapes them in ways reminiscent of Joyce (as you have doubtless seen in other reviews). The story is compelling, interesting. I always appreciate perspectives on religions, dogmatic systems that hold hypnotic sway over billions..this was an excellent example of such. I did have to review some Islamic history to understand a few of the stories, but found that valuable. This was not an easy read for me. I had to do a lot of thinking, rereading, pausing, discussing with my reading partner, but as with all good books, I find myself reminiscing about it still.opera d.
9. The Origin Of Satan: How Christians Demonized Jews, Pagans, And Heretics [Book]

Product Details:
Who is satan in the new testament, and what is the evil that he represents? in this groundbreaking book, elaine pagels, princeton's distinguished historian of religion, traces the evolution of satan from its origins in the hebrew bible, where satan is at first merely obstructive, to the new testament, where satan becomes the prince of darkness, the bitter enemy of god and man, evil incarnate. in the origin of satan, pagels shows that the four christian gospels tell two very different stories. the first is the story of jesus' moral genius: his lessons of love, forgiveness, and redemption. the second tells of the bitter conflict between the followers of jesus and their fellow jews, a conflict in which the writers of the four gospels condemned as creatures of satan those jews who refused to worship jesus as the messiah. writing during and just after the jewish war against rome, the evangelists invoked satan to portray their jewish enemies as god's enemies too. as pagels then shows, the church later turned this satanic indictment against its roman enemies, declaring that pagans and infidels were also creatures of satan, and against its own dissenters, calling them heretics and ascribing their heterodox views to satanic influences.
Reviews:
Insightful. I wouldn't have expected anyone to contemplate where biblical evil started penetrating Christian thought.daddyworm

This is a great book to read if you are interested in what the occultists practice. It's good tool to get others traped in this pit out to freedom. I strongly recomend it to believers and non-believers. Once, I started reading it I coulndt stop. There are parts that you'll find unrealistic but if you believe in the supernatural everything will make sence to you.deived93638yahoo
I listen to some of the Authors videos on various subjects and wanted a clearer perspective from his background. The book is well written and has (I believe) Mr. Schnoebelen's honest testimony as well as his sometimes dry but quirky wit. Good read for those interested in helping those involved in Occult things.rwson
14. Satan: The Early Christian Tradition [Book]

Product Details:
How can one account for evil's ageless presence, its attraction, and its fruits? the question is one that jeffrey burton russell addresses in his history of the concept of the devil–the personification of evil itself. in the predecessor to this book, the devil: perceptions of evil from antiquity to primitive christianity, russell traced the idea of the devil in comparative religions and examined its development in western thought through ancient hebrew religion and the new testament. this volume follows its course over the first five centuries of the christian era.like most theological problems, the question of evil was largely ignored by the primitive christian community. the later christian thinkers who wrestled with it for many centuries were faced with a seemingly irreconcilable paradox: if god is benevolent and omnipotent, why does he permit evil? how, on the other hand, can god be all-powerful if one adopts a dualist stance, and posits two divine forces, one good and one evil? drawing upon a rich variety of literary sources as well as upon the visual arts, russell discusses the apostolic fathers, the apologetic fathers, and the gnostics. he goes on to treat the thought of irenaeus and tertullian, and to describe the diabology of the alexandrian fathers, clement and origen, as well as the dualist tendencies in lactantius and in the monastic fathers. finally he addresses the syntheses of the fifth century, especially that of augustine, whose view of the devil has been widely accepted in the entire christian community ever since.satan is both a revealing study of the compelling figure of the devil and an imaginative and persuasive inquiry into the forces that shape a concept and ensure its survival.

Reviews:
It is unusual for a book on this topic to be full of direct references with actual facts, names and dates. The author is obviously unafraid to name names and believes the public should have the information to judge for themselves. Particularly notable are chapters detailing the Catholic church's compromises with Evil, and a very interesting section on Demonic Possession and Exorcism, in some detail. This will open your eyes….behealthy4zy1
