Reviews:
This is a great book for beginners learning about the Montessori way of raising kids. This book has many pictures so you can visually see what the author is saying. Many Montessori books can be quite theoretical, therefore I found this book quite easy to read. Useful to keep and refer back to at anytime and the price was reasonable. This book was always on hold at my local library so it was great to have my own copy.sulamsulam
How to Raise an Amazing Child" helped me understand the Montessori philosophy, which happily matches my own. Two of my four grandchildren attend a Montessori preschool, so I understand the school better now. "Amazing Child" gave me ways of calming them when I'm babysitting (ages 2-1/2 through 7). "Amazing Child" also reminded me how much children are capable of; they love it when grandma lets them do things!Detail D
I love this book! It's great for parents who already have small children and don't have the ability to focus on more difficult materials. I love that it covers a wide range of ages and gives activities and traits for each age range. I was intimidated by Montessori, but not anymore. 🙂Appalachiamama

This is a good book that describes the use of different materials and includes photographs of the materials. It explains how the materials can be applied to increasing difficulty. This is definietly geared to the 3-6 learning range. This is my first year as a Montessori parent. It doesn't explain what a '55 decimal layout' is that my son talks about, but it gives us photos to work from. An internet search still is helpful for the more advanced applications.Kindergarten P

I was looking for a book that showed photos of the materials and explained how they were used. This is a good start. It doesn't tell me what a '55 decimal layout' is, but it does describe different materials and how they can be used in different ways. This is a good beginner book. An internet search is still good for more advanced material usage.kindergarten p

Reviews:
The montessori method is the basic text book for montessori teachers. Other than teachers, parents should try to read this book for some insights into their child's development. While the writing is quite archaic at times, there are some really insightful comments which is surprising seeing as this was written over a hundred years ago. It begs to question why more schools or parents do not adopt this method in child raising or teaching. Definitely food for thought.
This is a great book to read to understand and implement learning with young children. A must for teachers who are studying for a Montessori qualification.

Reviews:
I wouldn't use this as a beginning to number work. It might be confusing that the number of items is across from the symbol from the previous number of items. The thing I do see that is helpful about this set up is teaching how to check to see if they were right in their counting. Count everything up, turn the page and see if the symbol for what you counted is the same! This would only work if they knew the names of all the symbols.AMontessoriMom
Great addition to recognising numbers. It is a sturdy book so will last a long time. Children are able to learn counting skills, number recognition and are able to trace the number with their finger
This is a great teaching tool for toddlers. I like that the numbers are taught using quantity first! It's important that children learn what the numbers mean before they have to write them. I would change the back page if I could. The quantity of boxes in the number strips should go with the written symbol! It's backward!Egstra
