The overview I was looking for.gr8tbks
A good guide to osteoporosis but rather American!! A lot of the medication and dr guides would not apply to the UK but forgetting that it is a good comprehensive guide for those who have just been diagnosedclairesquance
The titles of these books always crack me up sooo badly! Especially the “anger management for dummies” issue. I do not exactly know how seriously they take that topic, but I can say without a doubt this book is reliable and practical in guidance and advice. I enjoyed the wit and humour put into it. I found this book particularly entertaining, it turns out it is more helpful than I thought it would be. The content is pretty relevant, and the topics are split into logical groups to break down and really build your knowledge from ground up via a good contents page. They are really experts at the whole subject, so it’s a reliable source of info.

Reviews:
My friends mother was diagnosed with osteopenia and seemed to be in a lot of pain sometimes. I remember buying this guys first book called It's Not The Cans, which helped me a lot. I took some of the recommendations and put them to use. Within days my energy level was much higher and my focus was much clearer. Thanks to that book I I am able to work as hard as I need to get ahead at my job. It was no question about buying this new release as a gift for my friend's mom. The interesting thing is I happen to have some of the vitamins that are recommended in this new book. So I gave them to her. Just like before, it only took a couple of days for her to begin noticing a difference. The pain was noticeably less and her energy started improving just like mine did. It has only been a week since she started putting this book to use and she is amazed! All I can say is this book is even better than the first one. The great thing about is there are calenders for people of different ages to follow. They are even detailed to the point of what to take with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What I like the most is the writer seems to really care about people. It comes across in the book. If he sees this review I just want to tell him THANK YOU again for helping me. This time you helped me to help my friends mother. I can't wait for your next book.TMI

Reviews:
After being diagnosed with osteoporosis my doctor immediately suggested I get on board with medication to 'help reverse' my condition. I was then put in touch with Gill Sanson's amazingly informative book which has dispelled many of the myths associated with osteoporosis. Medication should NEVER be the first line of defense in treating this 'disease'. As we age we are all prone to waning bone density but that does NOT mean that we are all at risk for a fracture…I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has been told they have OSTEOPENIA or OSTEOPOROSIS so that they too can take control and find clear cut ways to take charge of their own health in a more natural and alternative way.5256terri
I am so thankful for this book. It really helped put the avalanche of fears that are flooded in by both doctors and pharmaceutical companies to rest. As the author explains, there are many other risks for fractures to consider beside your Bone Density score. Just a few years ago the medical community considered all these factors before labeling a patient with "osteoporosis". Now, that label is based solely on the BD score alone. The question lingers, "Why then do many high bone density people fracture and others with low bd never fracture?" With the current problem of osteonecrosis surfacing from the bisphosphonate drugs, it is certainly worth researching before anyone begins that avenue of therapy. I am very concerned about the quality of bone these drugs promise. Unbelievably, the drug treatment that increases bone density does not necessarily reduce fracture rates! So, what do we do to build strong bones? The author shares personal information from her family members who live with low bone density which is very encouraging. Also, she includes a chapter on diet and exercise. This is a very well researched book with tons of footnotes to aid the rest of us should we desire to gather the facts instead of being paralyzed by the current mountain of fears.birder020
