1. Principles: Life And Work [Book]

Product Details:
#1 new york times bestseller “significant… the book is both instructive and surprisingly moving.” —the new york times ray dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, shares the unconventional principles that he’s developed, refined, and used over the past forty years to create unique results in both life and business—and which any person or organization can adopt to help achieve their goals.in 1975, ray dalio founded an investment firm, bridgewater associates, out of his two-bedroom apartment in new york city. forty years later, bridgewater has made more money for its clients than any other hedge fund in history and grown into the fifth most important private company in the united states, according to fortune magazine. dalio himself has been named to time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. along the way, dalio discovered a set of unique principles that have led to bridgewater’s exceptionally effective culture, which he describes as “an idea meritocracy that strives to achieve meaningful work and meaningful relationships through radical transparency.” it is these principles, and not anything special about dalio—who grew up an ordinary kid in a middle-class long island neighborhood—that he believes are the reason behind his success. in principles, dalio shares what he’s learned over the course of his remarkable career. he argues that life, management, economics, and investing can all be systemized into rules and understood like machines. the book’s hundreds of practical lessons, which are built around his cornerstones of “radical truth” and “radical transparency,” include dalio laying out the most effective ways for individuals and organizations to make decisions, approach challenges, and build strong teams. he also describes the innovative tools the firm uses to bring an idea meritocracy to life, such as creating “baseball cards” for all employees that distill their strengths and weaknesses, and employing computerized decision-making systems to make believability-weighted decisions. while the book brims with novel ideas for organizations and institutions, principles also offers a clear, straightforward approach to decision-making that dalio believes anyone can apply, no matter what they’re seeking to achieve. here, from a man who has been called both “the steve jobs of investing” and “the philosopher king of the financial universe” (cio magazine), is a rare opportunity to gain proven advice unlike anything you’ll find in the conventional business press.

Absolutely amazing incite on how a trader should think. It's always better (imo) to have the author narrate their own books so you can hear how they intended it to be interpreted. You don't feel like you are listening to an audio disk, you feel as though Ray is sitting at a table having coffee with you and telling his life story, That said, He's a bit monotone and drab, like a grandfather talking about "the good ole days" but with priceless information that can serve you for a lifetime.vikinghammer14
2. Prime Numbers And The Riemann Hypothesis [Book]

Product Details:
Prime numbers are beautiful, mysterious, and beguiling mathematical objects. the mathematician bernhard riemann made a celebrated conjecture about primes in 1859, the so-called riemann hypothesis, which remains to be one of the most important unsolved problems in mathematics. through the deep insights of the authors, this book introduces primes and explains the riemann hypothesis. students with minimal mathematical background and scholars alike will enjoy this comprehensive discussion of primes. the first part of the book will inspire the curiosity of a general reader with an accessible explanation of the key ideas. the exposition of these ideas is generously illuminated by computational graphics that exhibit the key concepts and phenomena in enticing detail. readers with more mathematical experience will then go deeper into the structure of primes and see how the riemann hypothesis relates to fourier analysis using the vocabulary of spectra. readers with a strong mathematical background will be able to connect these ideas to historical formulations of the riemann hypothesis.

She gives good instructions and explains why. We should all do what she says and our health would all show it. It isn't so much of a diet book as it is a book on good health and the result is becoming your ideal self. Couldn't loose anything but bad health by following it. Reviews:
I was struck by the flawed physical attributes of many of the characters: stuttering brother, hare-lipped sister, blind family friend, and wondered if all of these (except for the brother) really contributed to the plot. Initially, I found the relentless descriptive similes actually corny and repetitive. Fortunately, these began to disappear as the story progressed. The author repeatedly interjects details which are supposed to reinforce the time period, but they seem not to ring true. (I'm sure I did not, in the '60s, serve Kool-Aid at almost every meal.) That being said, it was an interesting read and was generally quite well-written.artistcollectingstuff

7. Mindset [Book]

Product Details:
World-renowned stanford university psychologist carol dweck, in decades of research on achievement and success, has discovered a truly groundbreaking idea-the power of our mindset. she makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn't foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment, but may actually jeopardize success. dweck reveals what all great parents, teachers, ceos, and athletes already know: how a simple idea about the brain can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area.

Reviews:
Mindset is a great book for anyone who wishes to learn how to learn. Most of us are taught what to learn in schools, work and universities but not how to go about learning. The two basic mindsets covered are the fixed and growth mindsets and everyone has a mixture of these. Recognising the triggers and shifting to the right mindset takes deliberate practice and reframing. Find out more IG: @vitalmindsetsRubik
Dweck presents a dichotomy between fixed mindset (grounded in innate talent/intellect/gifts, excessive judgement, intolerance of mistakes) against a growth mindset (an ongoing love for development/learning, acceptance of setbacks, continued striving to improve). In reality we are all a mix of both, varying along the spectrum and changing over time. More interestingly we each display various mindsets across different parts of our lives (growth in some areas and fixed in others such as artistic, athletic, parental, professional, intellectual, etc). She discourages an excessive amount of praise for success, and instead focuses on encouragement for effort as well as constructive processes. The book has case studies from education, sport, and business each distinguishing between the harm from fixed mindsets and the realised potential from growth mindsets.damay4323

The book as an electronic entity is of good quality with no layout errors and converted across to my Kindle very well. The story contained in the book is a fantastic way to round out a 9 book series. Really enjoyed my time with it and felt torn at the end – still wanted more but was equally satisfied with the journey I'd been on. I recommend the series to everyone I can, it's written in a way that is safe for both sci-fi and non-sci-fi people to enjoy. The Part Time Reader

William Gibson tillbaka i god stil. Tove S
THE PERIPHERAL by William Gibson is one of the most prescient Science Fiction novels of the twenty-first century. Gibson, best known for his cyberpunk novels NEUROMANCER and MONA LISA OVERDRIVE, creates a future North America where governments are micromanaged not only by big businesses, but from multi-national conglomerates from other dimensions – corporate entities with the means to contact one reality from another. The most telling feature of THE PERIPHERAL is how the author includes the use of drones – those that fly, and others that walk and talk and look very much like "us." Having met and listened to the author speak on various subjects, I am in awe of his writing style, but even more his uncanny knack for maintaining steady pressure on the very pulse of all that is current, hep, and NOW. Readers will find his latest novel a compelling journey, with memorable characters – one of those books that, once one is finished reading it, the reader is sad to have left the world and its people.vonblut

Reviews:
I bought this book to generate conversations and fun between me and my fiancé. We live in 2 different areas of the country so when we get together it is full of quality time. The book has scratch off sections that do not work. You end up scratching of the entire information. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. During this time of COVID 19 it is disappointing that this book doesn’t deliver what it promised.– Dirk Hansondirk.h
They didn't have the friends edition listed to review but thats the one I've used. Although I did get the couples edition with it. Not sure if illnusenthat one but the friends one is fun we just did our first adventure that was something different. I can't wait to see what the others are like. The mystery of it makes it exciting. I do wish these books were a little cheaper but it is fun and probably worth it since it will last awhile. The camera option is ridiculously expensive though considering that nothing is included with it. I didnt get that off the site but instead got basically the same instant camera on Amazon for probably 80$ cheaper and it included everything along with a neat travel case.sarah.l
17. Bibi: My Story [Book]

Product Details:
New york times bestseller in benjamin “bibi” netanyahu’s ”compelling” (the economist) and “substantive” (the guardian) autobiography, the newly reelected prime minister of israel tells the story of his family, his path to leadership, and his unceasing commitment to defending his country and securing its future.from their earliest days, bibi and his close-knit brothers, yoni and iddo, were instilled with purpose. born in the wake of the holocaust at the dawn of israel’s independence and raised in a family with a prominent zionist history, they understood that the jewish state was a hard-won and still precarious gift. all three studied in american high schools—where they learned to appreciate the united states—before returning to their cherished homeland. the brothers joined an elite special forces outfit of the israeli defense forces known as “the unit.” at twenty-two, bibi was wounded while leading his team in the rescue of hostages from a hijacked plane. four years later, in 1976, yoni was killed in entebbe, uganda, while leading his men in one of the most daring hostage-rescue missions in modern times. yoni became a legend; bibi felt he would never recover from his grief. yet, inspired by yoni’s legacy and guided by the wisdom of his visionary historian father, bibi thrust himself into the international struggle against terrorism, ultimately becoming the longest-serving prime minister in israel’s history—an honor he further cemented by winning reelection in 2022. in this memoir bibi weaves together his gripping personal story with the dramatic history of israel and the jewish people. through a host of vivid anecdotes, he narrates his own evolution from soldier to statesman, while providing a unique perspective on leadership, the fraught geopolitics of the middle east, and his successful efforts to liberate israel’s economy, which helped turn it into a global powerhouse of technological innovation. netanyahu gives colorful, detailed, and revealing accounts of his often turbulent relationships and negotiations with presidents clinton, obama, and trump. with eye-opening candor, he delves into the back channels of high diplomacy—including his struggle against the radical forces that threaten israel and the world at large, and the decisive events that led to israel’s groundbreaking 2020 peace agreements with four arab states. offering an unflinching account of a life, a family, and a nation, netanyahu writes from the heart and embraces controversy head-on. steely and funny, high-tempo and full of verve, this autobiography will stand as a defining testament to the value of political conviction and personal courage.

Reviews:
This is a beautiful hard cover book containing what many would consider essentials (practical knowledge) for boys preparing for life. It may have some conservative views in it, which it okay with me. Overall, it is just very basic, practical information that many families are too busy these days to pass on. I originally bought it for an 8 year old boy. However, once I had the book in hand, I realized that it was more appropriate for a boy of 12 or or older. I liked the book too much to return it, so I am keeping to read and/or to give as a gift when the right opportunity presents itself. This is a high quality purchase for which I paid only $8.99! What a value!Olive
great book for boys – grandsons and great grandsons – excellent content for all youth – girls or boys\ from Invictus – "it matters not how straight the gate – how charged with punishments the scroll – I am the master of my fate – the captain of my soul." this is something worth remembering and repeating and sharing with our young people.sleepyswan

I have never read a more heartbreakingly beautiful book in my 25 years of existence. If you have any doubts about reading this one, don’t. Read it. It’s the best book ever. I have never felt such emotions by just reading a book. Colleen Hoover’s books are great. But this one????? Indescribable how perfect it is.jchell
Reminders of him by @colleenhoover ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 This is possibly the best book I've read by Colleen Hoover, so far. Ive never had a book rip my heart out like this one did .. I almost cried . Maybe I'm an emotionless doll or something. I teared up for Kenna . But I didn't cry . I smiled. I laughed . I swooned over the main love interest, Ledger. I whole heartedly missed Scotty. I sympathized for the victims . And my heart hurt for Diem . I absolutely devoured this book in 2 days, and it would have been 1 day , but life … lol . If you have not read this one , do it . Hoover has done it again . She put so many emotions inside those covers. And she made me feel them all with such intensity. I was surprised I didn't start blubbering like a baby … I left this book, Kind of feeling like less of a human because I didn't cry 😂 yet so full of every emotion I was floored . I won't be forgetting this book any time soon .kaylee .a
Absolutely loved this book, so yes saw that Diem was part of Ledger life etc but I never expected it to turn out how it did fully, or what happened that horrible night. The way Kenna was punishing herself, and accepting the hate and unloved because that’s how she felt about herself as well. It was a horrid accident which took her that night as well unfortunately and everything seem to be against her, that was until ledger got to know her and fought for her and with her, as he knew the real Kenna. It was beautifully written and made me once again have a mixture of emotions, seem Colleen Hoover is very good at playing with your emotions. This is the 4th book I’ve read by her and I’ve ordered more, truly amazing books and I can’t help but be drawn and sucked into them.rebecca.p

Received a paperback! This page needs to be edited. CS told me that they could not edit it for future purchasers, but that if I left a review maybe the poor ratings would allow the change in information by another department? Clearly the title says Hardcover. CS pointed out that the description further down the page states paperback. Bummer. I like Hardcover texts. Chose not to deal with the return and repurchase during COVID-19 quarantine because I really would like to read it. Really thought it was a HC because just recently purchased The Outsider in HC for similar price and had no problems.
