This is a classic and true "how to" tool for learning what is needed to be a true success. But, just reading it will tell you how….the doing it requires actual work, practice and study. If there is anything negative – it is just that it is decades old so some examples may use values that don't fit anymore, but the concepts are enternal (and the Cassette/recorded versions are much, much better, albeit more expensive.iamlostru

Very informative and useful.LAUREN
I am in my first year of real estate now, and I actually enjoy it a lot. It is basic and can speak to any audience.ALETA
Overall, I would recommend this book. It offers a solid foundation about the day-to-day of what being a new agent is like, and how to increase your efficiency with lead generation and follow up. That being said, there are moments where its organization is a little clunky — the author will interrupt himself on one subject, jump to something less interesting/relevant, only to later return to the initial subject. Some subjects are covered in greater detail than is probably necessary. And you will definitely want to supplement this text with another that more specifically discusses how to utilize social media/newer tech in your practice. But again, it is overall a worthwhile read, particularly if you're brand new to real estate and sales.JOSEPH

6. Zillow Talk: Rewriting The Rules Of Real Estate [Book]
Product Details:
The new title of this book in other editions is zillow talk: rewriting the rules of real estate. "the new rules of real estate" is a registered trademark of first team real estate-orange county. the new york times bestseller–now updated with a new chapter! how do you spot an area poised for gentrification? is spring or winter the best time to put your house on the market? will a house on swamp road sell for less than one on gingerbread lane? the fact is that the rules of real estate have changed drastically over the past five years. but how? enter zillow, the nation's #1 real estate website and mobile app. thanks to its treasure trove of proprietary data and army of statisticians and data scientists, led by chief economist stan humphries, zillow has been able to spot the trends and truths of today's housing market while acknowledging that a home is more than an economic asset.
Reviews:
This book started out as a really great read! There are lots of interesting points, and some really excellent nuggets of advice buried within that can help you buy or sell your home. I especially appreciated their advice on how to choose a good real estate agent. However, about mid-way, the authors get a little too impressed with their own analytics, and the nuggets become fewer and farther between. Let's say you are planning to sell your home, and are looking to purchase a new one. As the authors themselves admit, it won't be possible to change the name of the street you're living on and yet they spend a full chapter explaining the statistical advantages of certain street names over others. There's an an in-depth analysis of why prices are so high in certain boroughs of New York City, and a lot of historical information on gentrification and the effect of the LGBT movement on various neighborhoods. In the meanwhile, I am hoping they will get back into the practical aspects of buying and selling a house: How does the process go when you submit an offer, what happens if the seller doesn't have an agent, what are the legal ramifications if you sell your house and a year later, the buyers aren't satisfied? Worth reading, but I can't really recommend it to people who want a practical, hands-on guide.ms.propman
