1. The Book With No Pictures – Book
Product Details:
A #1 new york times bestseller, this innovative and wildly funny read-aloud by award-winning humorist/actor b.j. novak will turn any reader into a comedian—a perfect gift for any special occasion! you might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious. except . . . here’s how books work. everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud. even if the words say . . . blork. or bluurf. even if the words are a preposterous song about eating ants for breakfast, or just a list of astonishingly goofy sounds like blaggity blaggity and glibbity globbity. cleverly irreverent and irresistibly silly, the book with no pictures is one that kids will beg to hear again and again. (and parents will be happy to oblige.)
Reviews:
This is the second copy of this book I have bought. Though our first is well eared, this was a gift for my kids reception teacher. I LOVE this book. My kids love this book. We love all doing the silly voices (because you won't be able to read it in your normal voice. Silly voices are a must!) We lent it to the nursery last year and the teachers loved it as it was a brilliant way of teaching 3-4 year olds the concept of what words are in a book. There is only one problem with the Book With No Pictures. Just one. You will never be able to read it just once with your kids. So if you are sitting down to read it with them be aware. When you finish they will probably ask you to turn back to the beginning and start again.noximas
Reader must read aloud everything printed and that means crazy words and sounds that will delight your young one. There are no pictures but plenty of fun.Polly
The book came with the cover torn. No big deal, I just threw it away since the hard cover looks the same. The reason why I gave it one star is, despite several excellent reviews from friends, it taught my kids the phrase, “boo boo butt”. I don’t like potty words at my house so I’m unimpressed that my 4 and 7 year olds go around yelling this after reading the book. I’ll probably shelf this book and not read it again.JB

Reviews:
This product missed the mark because, the book came from Houston Public Library, and I guess, (I hope) was discarded by Library and (I hope) purchased by Thriftbooks in St.Louis, Mo.But there is NO DISCARDED, disclosure on book, so it would appear to be Stolen ! I've purchased books originally from schools and libraries, and they ALWAYS had a disclosure that book was Discarded by them. So I will not be able to share this book with anyone else, and will buy a new book soon.evenaz_0

Reviews:
There's no question that this children's classic is beautifully written, so I'll talk about our experience with and appreciation for it. We allowed our 2 1/2 yr old Great-granddaughter to open the mailing package and the box holding the book and bunny. Both are a perfect size for her little hands. The hardboard book is going to hold up through countless reads, and the bunny fits right in the curve of her neck as we cuddle and read. This child rarely sits still and has a difficult time calming down to fall asleep, but the first time she climbed up in my lap to read Goodnight Moon, she was captivated by the calming words and pictures. When we reached the end, she said, "Do it again." Gladly! Half way through our second reading, her breathing was deep and regular….she was asleep! Goodnight Moon is a peaceful little story that takes place in "the great green room," which is filled with lovely details for young minds to enjoy seeing over and over. Every time we begin the book, I read "Goodnight Moon, by Margaret Wise Brown." She's a genius…she deserves the credit….HA!grandmommo
this book looks like it was made in the 80s. the house inside the book is so old school. honestly my daughter and I didn't like reading it. we have other books with better graphics and over all better reads. I'll donate this to her therapy center. we'll probably never read it again.DIAMOND
We've been reading this book to our baby since the beginning, and it's her favorite. When given options, she prefers this book over others. She loves pointing to different things like the mouse, house, kittens, etc. The book has become a part of our nighttime routine!
13. Children Of The Forest [Book]

The children of the forest live deep in the roots of an old pine tree. they collect wild mushrooms and blueberries and shelter under toadstools when it rains. they play with the squirrels and frogs, and when fall comes, they collect and prepare food to see them through the long winter, until the warm spring breeze starts to blow. a mini gift edition of elsa beskow's classic story.
Reviews:
When I received this to give as a stocking stuffer for my 2 1/2 year old, I considered putting it away for next year as it seemed a bit old for a toddler, but I’m so glad I didn’t wait! My daughter adores this little book, studying the beautiful illustrations, requesting it be read each morning, and is very curious about the details in the story. The story itself is good and I appreciate that it gently but straight forwardly touches on important lessons for being in nature (wild mushrooms can be dangerous, never harm living things unless they intend to harm you, etc). There’s on short part about a battle with a snake that I paraphrase since it could be upsetting/scary for a small child, but that’s easy to do because the book is written so that you can read straight through or just a little paragraph or two can work as a “mini chapter”. It’s a must for kids who spend their days outside!Ada S.
This is a wonderful story with beautiful illustrations. My three-year-old daughter requests it frequently and my one-year-old daughter is also engaged by the pictures. The story is long for a three year old but she listens the entire time. It has spawned questions about winter, owls, fairies, trolls, birds and pine trees. She also enjoys pointing out each child by name. In short, you will want your child’s imagination to be inspired by the natural themes in this book.Monica C.
Darling book! We’re in love with Elsa Beskow. Writing and illustrations are magic!Whitney M.

Truth be told I purchased this book at a thrift store. It's an adorable little book. My two year old asks to read "No, No, David" all the time. It is a very easy read, funny, and has great illustrations. We play and "i spy" kind of game on most of the pages and have tons of fun. This is definitely a cute book to add to your childs library. I would no doubt purchase a copy from Walmart as a gift for a niece/nephew.MamaKhadijah
