Be sure to use the fuzzy side because it yields the best results. -: You have to take some care to smooth out the wrinkles for the part of the backdrop that is on the floor. Not as bright and not as white as the Savage vinyl backdrop, but the Savage is much heavier and scuffs and rips easily under heavy foot traffic. I have attached a photo in which the Westcott and Savage are shot side by side. This gives you an idea of the whiteness and brightness of each. If you are looking for a backdrop from which you can easily extract the subject, then the Westcott is by far the best choice because of the + items above. If you are looking to create a finished photo with a near blownout white background, then the Savage is a better choice.Donald

I have used seamless white background paper rolls for years. They got a little to cumbersome to travel with in a car and etc. and can be too heavy/inconvenient to set up when youre by yourself. This is the perfect solution to that. It is definitely true white when exposed / lights set up properly for them. Anyone else complaining that it looks grey/black isnt setting up their lights and exposing properly. Its SUPER light weight and easy to carry around and travel with. I cannot recommend this item highly enough.Teresa

I've never used a backdrop before so I was nervous when using this for the first time. I had a simple set up of two umbrella lights and a mounted flash on my camera and the shoot went amazing! Stretching out the drop made it seem like there were no wrinkles and the pictures came out great. It's nice and thick and there is minimal bleed through when there is light behind it. I've read a lot of reviews about disappointments with the low quality of some backdrop fabrics that are too thin and wrinkle or rip. This is good stuff at a very fair price. Very large and worked flawlessly as a backdrop for my brother's furniture photo shoot. Eliminated the glare from the light colored back wall. It took a long time for me to realize just how harmful that back wall was reflecting too much light onto the surface of his beautiful wood tops, and washing out the color and hiding the grain. Now I just have to paste in whatever background looks appropriate with Photoshop.Robert

It is very black and absorbing – however the common comment regarding it being difficult to keep clean is spot on. If you have dust, pets or things floating around on the floor of where you will be shooting – it will be stuck to this back drop and the bag it comes in (it's the same material). That is not to say, don't buy it, but it will require a bit of work to keep it clear of debris if it encounters it..Great to shoot with though -!glenn

I expected this backdrop to be more than it is. Upon opening the package my first impression is it's no more than a giant black fleece blanket. It did however photograph decently.. but it picked up a TON of lint that just sticks to the material. I would not buy this again if I had to do it over.angie g.
