1. The Last Kids On Earth: Max Brallier – Book
Product Details:
The simpsons meets the walking dead in this hilarious post-apocalyptic graphic novel for middle-grade readers. ever since the monster apocalypse hit town, average thirteen year old jack sullivan has been living in his tree house, which he's armed to the teeth with catapults and a moat, not to mention video games and an endless supply of oreos and mountain dew scavenged from abandoned stores. but jack alone is no match for the hoards of zombies and winged wretches and vine thingies, and especially not for the eerily intelligent monster known only as blarg.
Reviews:
I bought this for my 8 year old son with the hope that it would grab his interest enough to help cut back on his desire to play video games constantly. This book really did the trick. He couldn’t put it down and finished it in a few days. It’s gross in a kid-appropriate way, very silly, and thoroughly entertaining. Definitely worth the purchase!SLCont
My daughter discovered and loved the TV series on Netflix (clearly advertised on the book covers). I recently found out it was initially a book series, which made sense, since I also watched it with my 11-yo, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it myself! The books arrived beautifully presented, just with a cross of plastic to protect and hold the set together. They were all in perfect condition, and we started reading the books right away — my daughter being bicultural, her English is not yet where it could be at, what with her attending a French school rather than a British one… so we read together and I make her watch everything I can in English. This is American but luckily the British publisher used British spelling throughout, which is particularly important in our case! She is absolutely loving these books, and I am thrilled to see how much help it was to watch the series in English and then read the books. Esp. because the series closely followed the events of the books, which was another great piece of news! So anyway, I highly recommend this very affordable set, which is surprisingly well written, witty, laugh-out-loud funny, and highly enjoyable on the whole.A V. H. R.
What a fun read! I’ve been reading 2 chapters a night and the kids love it. It’s a cool read for young teenage reader. I love the comic book edge to it.Heather

Reviews:
Liz Braswell is back with another imaginative Disney retelling of Tangled. What if Rapunzel's mother was healed by the moondrop flower instead of the sundrop flower? Liz Braswell is content to make her readers cry from the first page to the very end. As this story is narrated by a brother trying to refresh Rapunzel's story for his sister during her chemo treatment. A brother with an impressive vocabulary, and attention to detail. There are not many ways to improve the original story line, even Daniella insists that certain aspects of the story remain the same. Except this time Rapunzel is cursed with a deadly ability. The fact that her family chooses her miserable childhood this time, makes this a significantly darker tale. This is a slow-paced book, with a sad undertone, and an imaginative but jumbled plot. Mother Gothel is just as prominent in this story, and doubly wicked since she no longer has to rely on Rapunzel for her youth. More villains become involved, making Rapunzel's dream to see the lanterns even more dangerous. Rapunzel's disposition is unchanged in this book as she is cheerful, kind, curious, and ignorant about almost everything in the world. It certainly highlights her loneliness, and how confining her life has been in the tower. A new character Gina helps give her a friend's perspective, though she often seesaws between pitying Rapunzel and competing with Flynn. Awkwardly leaving Rapunzel as a bit of a third wheel. Flynn is his usual bantering and charming self, if not a little more reluctant to help. The changes to Maximus and Pascal are a bit disappointing, taking a lot of humor out in the process. This retelling does delve deeper into the problematic issues of the Tangled world. Rapunzel comes to many realizations about the traumatic experiences in her life, the social problems her friends face, and the meaning of forgiveness. Most of which she has to learn on her own, even learning about her magic hair alone. Liz Braswell'sVictoria G

Reviews:
I loved this book because it was thrilling! I could not put it down! Love, love, love it! This book pulls you in from the first page, it is amazing! But probably only for readers above 10.Soph
I absolutely love the book! The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating from me is because it has a circular indent that lasts up through about page 25. It is very big (about the size of an airsoft bullet) but it is kind of annoying. It is in both the first and second book but the rest are in perfect condition so I don't think it should be that way with yours but I just wanted to say something about it.Josephine
This series is AWESOME! The books just keep getting better and better. I am reading through the series so quickly because I can't seem to put the story down. As soon as I get 2/3rd's through I hurry to BAM to get the next one! Thanks BAM, for carrying this great series!ALICIA

Reviews:
Such a great adventure and being from New York I love reading a story where I can completely envision the setting. Great read.Neek
New York under attack from infectious invader. 5 avitars come to the rescue. A fabulous ride through an urban fantasy.shirley the reader
Let me start off by saying I have loved all of NK Jemisins work, but this one has fallen so flat from what I expect from her. She usually has a way of writing and weaving a story, with strong characters, racial issues, and social issues that just blow my mind. It's heart stopping and emotion building. I didn't feel any of this this time around and that makes me extremely sad.. This story fell beyond flat for me. I really didn't connect with any of the characters. It was confusing. And the ambiance just felt off the whole way through. The writing felt very child like and immature. Nothing of what I expected of an author of this caliber. I have noticed, reading other reviews, that people who truly loved it hadn't really dived into her other works. I recommend reading this one before her other works. I much prefer the nuances and story telling of her other works. Her writing in this one seems like she digressed. I really wanted to love this one. She's one of my favorite authors and I'm just beyond disappointed. I did enjoy her take on the city. And the magical undercurrent aspects of the story. I may try again at a later date but for now, definitely disappointed in one of my most anticipated reads of 2021Khalessi

I would definitely recommend this for people who like adventure, excitement and mystery. This book is up in one of the best books I've ever read. This book is the GOAT of all books.Budah
Originally reviewed on Just Me My Books. The book follows Percy, who ends up vaporising his maths teacher on a trip to a New York museum, and no one seems to notice. When he is expelled from yet another boarding school, his mother treats him to a weekend at the beach, even though it looks like a hurricane is about to descend on them. It's only on the arrival of Percy's friend Grover do they realise something is wrong and that a Minotaur is after Percy. Soon, Percy arrives at Camp Half-Blood and learns that he is a Demigod – half human, half god. After being recognised by his father, one of the three gods who vowed they would not have any more children, Percy finds out he is being blamed for stealing Zeus' master lightning bolt, and so is sent on a quest to retrieve it from the Underworld before the Summer Solstice, in order to prevent war on Mount Olympus. With the help of his Satyr Grove and fellow camper Annabeth, they discover that the gods have more to worry about than Percy being the son of a powerful god, and that Kronos maybe trying to make a comeback.victoria.k
My Appraisal of the book Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief Written by Rick Riordan If you were wondering about this book and can't decide if you want to read it, I read it and maybe this will help you decide. This book tells the first story of the Percy Jackson Series. The story is mainly based on Greek mythology but with a modern twist. Read about the marvelous first adventure of main character Percy Jackson (a teen from Manhattan) and his friends as they fight monsters and try to keep peace between the Olympian gods. This story is full of action and adventure and will keep readers wanting more. This story won't let you down, except that there is more in the series, and you haven't read it all. yet. I highly recommend this book. Opinion of the Tome GuyThe Tome Guy

Rick Riordan has created wonderful fantasy adventures steeped in mythology and connecting to today's world for the younger reader. Highly recommended.M
The books were very fun! It is great for people who have read the previous books, like Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Heroes of Olympus. However, it is still understandable for new readers. The chapters constantly end on thrilling cliffhangers and also teach people about Greek and Roman mythology in a fun way.Pete the Potato

I just love these books! They're officially for young people, I'm 52 and hooked!! The manga series is different, with the pictures, more like a child's book. But, once you're hooked, you're hooked!!sulabar
I think this is a wonderful story and the cats are quite touching. The story takes place in a barn where a clan of cats live after their elderly owners die and they are abandoned. The new owners have dogs and don't seem to be interested in the cats who inhabit their barn. I really love these books I would recommend them to anyone who like a little mystery and has a love for cats True it is a super quick read but it isn't all about the text so if you take the time to really enjoy the pictures, you will come away satisfied.

12. Once Upon A Dream: A Twisted Tale [Book]
Product Details:
What if the sleeping beauty never woke up? once upon a dream marks the second book in a new ya line that reimagines classic disney stories in surprising new ways. it should be simple–a dragon defeated, a slumbering princess in a castle, a prince poised to wake her. but when the prince falls asleep as his lips touch the fair maiden's, it is clear that this fairy tale is far from over. with a desperate fairy's last curse controlling her mind, princess aurora must escape from a different castle of thorns and navigate a dangerously magical landscape–created from her very own dreams. aurora isn't alone–a charming prince is eager to join her quest, and old friends offer their help. but as maleficent's agents follow her every move, aurora struggles to discover who her true allies are and, moreover, who she truly is. time is running out. will the sleeping beauty be able to wake herself up?
Reviews:
Just love this book, the author writes beautifully and with a lot of detail. Filling in the blanks about some of the characters with intricate details. The twists in this tale is what makes this book unique; what if sleeping beauty never did wake up? A must read for anyone who has grown up with Disney movies! Also, I do recommend that anyone who reads this book (even though its he second in the series) do need to consider purchasing the other two titles in the series to complete the set. 5/5 😀blkkat19
This book really is a whirlwind. Taking you from one setting to the next, and the ending *sighs* is absolutely astonishing! But, like most of Braswell's books, the ending is also very open. I gave this book 4.5 stars, because some of the parts can be predictable. This twisted tale absolutely gets your mind running from the start. Guessing theories, ideas, the girl's love life. Also while reading this book: QUESTION. EVERYTHING. Any fairy-tale you thought you knew will be changed only slightly, but at the same time, it will change everything. I mean again: predictable. That's why I believe there needs to be a sequel for some answers to my questions. Now why I believe that it deserves as many stars as I gave it, is the way it is written. Honestly, a book could have a draggy plot line and predictable endings, but if it's written well enough, it lands on my bookshelf. I read the whole book in one day, and it's dark and dreary, so on a good old rainy day, it will keep you company. I recommend this book for anybody ages ten or older. This riveting tale asks one question: What if sleeping beauty never woke up? This book will answer that question, but has you asking many more. I hope you enjoyed my review! -Seattle Noelle, 14STACY
The series as a whole is great and I would highly recommend you read all of them in order or release date. They are amazing and I love them.CORDAI

magnificient. masterpiece. that's all i can say. the book and movie have their similarities and differences but each should be enjoyed as it's own.sysysy
I'm a big fan of Miyazaki's adaptation of Howl's Moving Castle, and I've always wanted to read the book. I found the book to be quite excellent and I wish Miyazaki would have made Sophie have powers like she has in the book. I would love to read more adventures of Howl & Sophie. I'd also love some individual stories on Sophie's sisters. I don't agree with some reviews that they wanted to know more about the cities. I think the characters backgrounds, thoughts, and feelings are far more important.cantobellus
