Reviews:
This is an excellent coffee table book! Brilliant photography! Great for studying High School cultural geography or just learning about this great big world.jmikesgal
This is a gorgeous book full of lovely photos, and it's huge. i went through it slowly and enjoyed reading about all the countries. My only complaint, and this is totally subjective, is it picks and chooses the limited photos to portray and entire country. What they choose isn't always what I would choose to highlight that particular country.Maureen
I purchased this for myself, and 1 week later I purchased another as a gift for a friend who saw mine and wanted it. The photos are beautiful and large. You can see that a lot of research went into making this massive book. I learned about countries I scarcely hear about. The only negative is that some of the country facts are inaccurate/not true, like the one about my country, the Bahamas. However, even if you disregard the country fact, the pictures are still captivating.Alexia

Reviews:
I bought this book to generate conversations and fun between me and my fiancé. We live in 2 different areas of the country so when we get together it is full of quality time. The book has scratch off sections that do not work. You end up scratching of the entire information. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. During this time of COVID 19 it is disappointing that this book doesn’t deliver what it promised.– Dirk Hansondirk.h
They didn't have the friends edition listed to review but thats the one I've used. Although I did get the couples edition with it. Not sure if illnusenthat one but the friends one is fun we just did our first adventure that was something different. I can't wait to see what the others are like. The mystery of it makes it exciting. I do wish these books were a little cheaper but it is fun and probably worth it since it will last awhile. The camera option is ridiculously expensive though considering that nothing is included with it. I didnt get that off the site but instead got basically the same instant camera on Amazon for probably 80$ cheaper and it included everything along with a neat travel case.sarah.l
This is such a great idea and the packages is literally amazing. These books are made to last too, like they aren’t made cheap! Well worth it and the icons beside the activities are a great way to indicate which ones to scratch at that time.amber.v

Reviews:
Attention all curious minds who like to solve mysteries-come find where all the creatures are hiding! This book shows the variety of animals around the world that blend into their environment so well, it is hard to see them. From an insect that can look like a flower, to butterflies that look like leaves, to snakes that look just like a vine, children will be amazed how well they can blend in. Pictures and descriptions show the way coloring and shape allows them to be overlooked in their environment. For even more fun, pictures are included to practice finding some that are in disguise. Children will have lots of fun learning how members of the animal kingdom hide in plain sight. They will really like, and have a good time, with the pictures where they try to pick out for themselves animals that are in camouflage. This is a beautiful hard-backed book, with lots of colorful and endearing illustrations, done by the author himself. This is a book that will be loved, and looked at over and over. Children through ten years old will like this, and will have a good time unmasking the animals around us. I highly recommend this 5+ star book! 17. Worlds To Explore: Classic Tales Of Travel & Adventure From National Geographic [Book]

Product Details:
Polar fleece, titanium, and gps have forever changed the face of exploration. today an explorer can make a phone call from the top of mount everest and geo-locate himself in the thickest rain forest or the widest desert. yet despite these advances, few modern adventures get close to the charm and romance of "the desert road to turkestan," "mysterious temples of the jungle," and "airplanes come to the isles of spice." in those bygone days, the pages of national geographic were as close as most people could get to high adventure and faraway landsand here's a chance to recapture them. alongside noteworthy names like robert peary, amelia earhart, and teddy roosevelt, other less famous travelers take us on long-forgotten trips to places few americans had gone. introduced by brief essays that provide context and perspective, these engaging, engrossing selections speak for themselvesand trace the national geographic society's growth as it explored the unknown and brought it to readers eager for knowledge of "the world and all that is in it."

Very informative and an easy read. My 9 year old Grandson wizzes thru it like he's been read for a decade. If schools would use these kinds of books in the classroom our young people would be much better informed than they are.ralfloren
