Reviews:
My son-in-law was thrilled to have this book.JENNIFER
Having bought this book when we were expecting our first child back in 2018 I found the information invaluable in preparing my partner and I for what lay ahead. Since then I have bought this book as a gift for every single one of my friends that are first time expecting dads. It's been met with praise from each one of them. While it is mainly directed at an American audience, such as information on navigating the American medical system, some of the thoughts are still applicable to a lesser degree to other countries, the author does his best to keep the book international. I highly recommend this book.
2. We're Pregnant! The First Time Dad's Pregnancy Handbook [Book]

Reviews:
Well-written, sweet for a baby shower gift. I wish it had more after-birth parenting advice as well, but that's probably in a separate book. Great for first time dads (and moms really). Somewhat small, would fit in a purse or laptop bag etc. It's thick. Cute layout, overall a good buy. I wish I'd been able to give it to my brother earlier as his wife is now 6 months along.Lovemyfam06
This books only strength is the layout week by week through the trimesters but everything else is problematic: the “chummy” writing style, “bro to dad-daycare” themes, and misogynistic and outdated tones throughout. I do not understand why this book is rated so highly. One of the worst books I’ve read in a long time.123
First if all this is a great concept. Moms are not the only ones experiencing Pregnancy for the first time. This little book contains lots of detailed information for Dads that they may not think to ask. Besides the normal details about what the baby is doing week to week, this book includes many other features like what the Mom is going through. It gives good advice on how the Dad should navigate the ups and downs of being pregnant. How to support their partner, what to ask and what not to ask! It gives good lists and timelines to help them prepare the nursery, the home and their lives to be ready. I think this book is very useful yet not over whelming. Just enough information to read for a few minutes each week to be more ready and involved. It even goes on for about 3 months after the baby is born to help guide them through infancy. This was a worthwhile book and it makes a great gift too.Junkpunk

Great book…very informative. Helps the Dad-to-be understand some things that women go through. Nice for Dad's to read v.s. us just "telling" them! Like how it correlates with the other "Your Pregnancy" booksstargirljen416
The book is easy to read and tells you some good information. I would have liked for it to be more medical. It seems to lean more towards the emotional parts of pregnancy. I was looking for signs and symptoms of the entire pregnancy.claudepinner

Although it is informative, its more about his own experiences written to reassure you than actually teach or tell you things to do. Far from the handbook as titled. Although if youre a bit nervous or anxious then its probably worth a read to you.fretfingers123

This was a great purchase for your husband. He got some very good information from a males perspective about twins and what his role would be as a support partner in labour as well as a father. Again this author is from America and some of the book like tax deductions etc isn't appropriate for someone living outside the United States but it gave my husband good insight and has made him think more about his role and what we are in for expecting two babies. It's a good started book for those first time parents who aren't sure what they should be doing now they expecting twins.Bec
I bought these books for my daughter and son-in-law. They were both well read and very useful. We are all implementing ideas he got from the books. Very, very helpful.marn9109

Brilliant book. Perfect the first time, and essential the second. A simple month by month guide to help you prepare for your child. (Better than 10 weeks of NCT).albertwhitbrace
Over halfway through, it's a good book, however the sarcasm is too much for me. I just like to read the important points, not all the pointless jokes etc.petekelk
Admittedly I haven't read it all myself as I bought it for my hubby to read but the bits I have read are informative and wrote In a humourous easy read way. I giggled to myself a few times in the small bit I have read. I do recommend this for a 1st time dad but although it's still a good read for the mum, there is more informative books out there directed at mums to be, going into more detail about what you will be feeling and what symptoms you will have and what size your baby is at each stage etc.charljade

The story of fatherhood and what it means to be a father today, based on a decade-long study of new and expectant fathers. becoming a father is one of most common but also one of the most profoundly life-altering experiences a man can have. it is up there with puberty, falling in love and experiencing your first loss. fifty years ago a father's role was assumed to be clear: he went to work; he provided the pay cheque; and he acted as a disciplinarian when he got home. but today a father's role is much more fluid and complex. dr anna machin has spent the past decade working with new and expectant fathers, studying the experiences of fathers and the questions fathers have: 'will fatherhood change me?', 'how do other men fulfil the role?', 'how can i help my child grow into a healthy, happy adult?'. in the life of dad, dr machin draws on her research and the latest findings in genetics, neuroscience and psychology to tell the story of fatherhood. she will show the extraordinary physiological changes a man undergoes when he becomes a father, investigate how a man's genes can influence what sort of father he will be, and will show how a dad makes a unique contribution to his child's life, helping to foster independence of mind and spirit. throughout the book, readers will encounter the voices of real dads, expectant and established, as well as fascinating insights into fatherhood from across the globe. the life of dad throws out the old stereotypes of fatherhood in an entertaining and informative journey through the role of dad – helping you decide what sort of father you want to be. 'a tour-de-force exploration of the forgotten half of the parenthood business. essential reading for every expectant dad … and mum.' – robin dunbar, professor of evolutionary psychology, university of oxford

Arrived quickly and well packed. This book is very interesting. I teach childcare so it is of special interest to me. I find it best to read and digest one chapter at a time. I have not finished yet but the research is thorough and not just from the Western world. I look forward to working out what I have learnt ,finishing the rest and working out if I will be integrating any of it into courses. I think I will at Level 3 where learners are better at analysing ideas..rosemarfranci-0

Reviews:
The Most Important Women of the Bible is magnificent. As a woman I couldn't wait for a book like this to come out to read up more on – the women in the Bible the good and the bad starting of course with Eve. It gives you the Scripture verses first to look up, then it gives you their biography and boy did they tell you a lot of information that I didn't know on some of these women. Then they tell you their role in redemption next after that the authors go into the "numbers" for instance for Eve they say "quote Bible verses that name Eve by name 4 " then they go into "things we Wonder " IE "what did Adam and Eve sew the fig leaves together with ?". Now isn't that awesome ? You should get this book, it is very interesting and worthwhile. I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all the opinions expressed in this review are all my own.joyful334209

I enjoy the guy language the book gives off. I hate when pregnancy books are all about medical terms and not about real life issues or concerns.CHLOE
