1. Understanding Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
This book outlines an elementary, one-semester course that exposes students to both the process of rigor, and the rewards inherent in taking an axiomatic approach to the study of functions of a real variable. the aim of a course in real analysis should be to challenge and improve mathematical intuition rather than to verify it. the philosophy of this book is to focus attention on questions which give analysis its inherent fascination.this new edition is extensively revised and updated with a refocused layout. in addition to the inclusion of extra exercises, the quality and focus of the exercises in this book has improved, which will help motivate the reader. new features include a discussion of infinite products, and expanded sections on metric spaces, the baire category theorem, multi-variable functions, and the gamma function.reviews from the first edition:"this is a dangerous book. understanding analysis is so well-written and the development of the theory so well-motivated that exposing students to it could well lead them to expect such excellence in all their textbooks. … understanding analysis is perfectly titled; if your students read it that’s what’s going to happen. this terrific book will become the text of choice for the single-variable introductory analysis course; take a look at it next time you’re preparing that class." -steve kennedy, the mathematical association of america, 2001"each chapter begins with a discussion section and ends with an epilogue. the discussion serves to motivate the content of the chapter while the epilogue points tantalisingly to more advanced topics. … i wish i had written this book! the development of the subject follows the tried-and-true path, but the presentation is engaging and challenging. abbott focuses attention immediately on the topics which make analysis fascinating … and makes them accessible to an inexperienced audience." -scott sciffer, the australian mathematical society gazette, 29:3, 2002

3. How To Think About Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
Analysis (sometimes called real analysis or advanced calculus) is a core subject in most undergraduate mathematics degrees. it is elegant, clever and rewarding to learn, but it is hard. even the best students find it challenging, and those who are unprepared often find it incomprehensible at first. this book aims to ensure that no student need be unprepared. it is not like other analysis books. it is not a textbook containing standard content. rather, it is designed to be read before arriving at university and/or before starting an analysis course, or as a companion text once a course is begun. it provides a friendly and readable introduction to the subject by building on the student's existing understanding of six key topics: sequences, series, continuity, differentiability, integrability and the real numbers. it explains how mathematicians develop and use sophisticated formal versions of these ideas, and provides a detailed introduction to the central definitions, theorems andproofs, pointing out typical areas of difficulty and confusion and explaining how to overcome these. the book also provides study advice focused on the skills that students need if they are to build on this introduction and learn successfully in their own analysis courses: it explains how to understand definitions, theorems and proofs by relating them to examples and diagrams, how to think productively about proofs, and how theories are taught in lectures and books on advanced mathematics. it also offers practical guidance on strategies for effective study planning. the advice throughout is research based and is presented in an engaging style that will be accessible to students who are new to advanced abstract mathematics.

4. Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
This is part one of a two-volume introduction to real analysis and is intended for honours undergraduates who have already been exposed to calculus. the emphasis is on rigour and on foundations. the material starts at the very beginning – the construction of the number systems and set theory – then goes on to the basics of analysis (limits, series, continuity, differentiation, riemann integration), through to power series, several variable calculus and fourier analysis, and finally to the lebesgue integral. these are almost entirely set in the concrete setting of the real line and euclidean spaces, although there is some material on abstract metric and topological spaces. there are also appendices on mathematical logic and the decimal system. the entire text (omitting some less central topics) can be taught in two quarters of twenty-five to thirty lectures each. the course material is deeply intertwined with the exercises, as it is intended that the student actively learn the material (and practice thinking and writing rigorously) by proving several of the key results in the theory. in the third edition, several typos and other errors have been corrected and a few new exercises have been added. analysis i, 3rd revised edition, hardcover book.

5. Elementary Classical Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
Designed for courses in advanced calculus and introductory real analysis, the second edition of elementary classical analysis strikes a careful and thoughtful balance between pure and applied mathematics, with the emphasis on techniques important to classical analysis, without vector calculus or complex analysis. as such, it’s a perfect teaching and learning resource for mathematics undergraduate courses in classical analysis.the book includes detailed coverage of the foundations of the real number system and focuses primarily on analysis in euclidean space with a view towards application. as well as being suitable for students taking pure mathematics, it can also be used by students taking engineering and physical science courses. there’s now even more material on variable calculus, expanding the textbook’s already considerable coverage of the subject.

Reviews:
Marsden's Elementary Classical Analysis is a pretty commonly used text for introductory level analysis courses. The Bottom Line I'll start by saying this – this book was written in 1983 and is still probably the most popular textbook for this course, so the author must be doing something right. Overall, I felt this book was well written compared to other texts I have had to read for courses of similar difficulty and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good reference or is taking this course. I have broken down some key points below. Pro's of this text. – The structure of the text and problems is very well laid out, with relatively simple conceptual problems after each section to check for understanding and more challenging problems at the end of each chapter. – Instead of having the proof for each theorem immediately following the statement, most times only a reality check is given and all of the theorem proofs are compiled at the end of each chapter. I really like this as it allowed for faster reading when you only wanted key points and gave you a chance to think about each concept before looking at the proof (kind of like a spoiler). – Diagrams and illustrations are very useful visualizing concepts. Also, the worked examples are also very useful to illustrate some key ideas. – The language is very straightforward and the author does not attempt any tacky jokes or analogies – this is always a relief. – No useless irrelevant information – I want to learn about mathematics, not history. – The complete solution manual for this book is available online for free. So you wont have to pay for one. Now for the con's. – RIDDLED with typos, you can actually find a complete list of all the typos in this book if you Google it. – Some lemma / definitions are only presented in the problem sets and not in the actual chapter. This is really annoying if you are not going to do every single problem. – End of chapter exercises do not really follow any logical order so it is hard if you want to choose only problems that relate to one specific topic.mr.fantastics_tcgs
Very good quality, essential to studies as a Math major.lurobi97
Yes, there are many and best good books for learn Analysis, Rudin, Apostol, and so, the list is big, but Marsden's Book is an excellent equilibrium between theory, examples and exercises, it is a classic. This is one of few book with solution of demonstration I have read. This is some old today, but for a mathematic's studious it is one of "you must to have" book.braycr1
6. A Complete Guide To Volume Price Analysis: Read The Book… Then Read The Market [Book]
Product Details:
It is a deeply divisive food, which you either love or hate. those who love it, cannot understand how anyone could live without it – and of course, the opposite is true for those who hate it! this same sentiment could be applied to volume as a trading indicator. in other words, you are likely to fall into one of two camps. you either believe it works, or you don't. it really is that simple. there is no halfway house here! i make no bones about the fact that i believe i was lucky in starting my own trading journey using volume. to me it just made sense, and the logic of what it revealed was inescapable. volume is a rare commodity in trading – a leading indicator. the second, and only other leading indicator, is price. in isolation each tells us very little. after all, volume is just that, no more no less. however, combine these two forces together, and the result is a powerful analytical approach to forecasting market direction.. however, as i say at the start of the book, there is nothing new in trading, and the analysis of volume has been around for over 100 years. after all, this is where the iconic traders started. people like charles dow, jesse livermore, richard wyckoff, and richard ney. all they had was the ticker tape, from which they read the price, and the number of shares traded. volume price analysis, short and simple. the book has been written for traders who have never come across this methodology, and for those who have some knowledge, and perhaps wish to learn a little more. it is not revolutionary, or innovative, but just simple sound common sense, combined with logic.

7. Foundations Of Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
This introduction to basic analysis presents a careful development of the real number system and the theory of calculus on the real line, extending the theory to real and complex planes. designed as a first encounter with rigorous, formal mathematics for students with one year of calculus, the work features extended discussions of key ideas and detailed proofs of difficult theorems.authors david f. mitchell are professors of math at hobart and william smith colleges in geneva, new york. their approach emphasizes the connections between ideas, rather than rote, computational aspects of calculus. their two-part treatment begins with the real number system and covers functions, limits, and continuity, as well as differentiation and integration and aspects of sequences and series. the second part explores calculus in two dimensions in addition to line integrals and green's theorem. the text concludes with a concise survey of complex analysis.
8. Principles Of Mathematical Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
The third edition of this well known text continues to provide a solid foundation in mathematical analysis for undergraduate and first-year graduate students. the text begins with a discussion of the real number system as a complete ordered field. (dedekind's construction is now treated in an appendix to chapter i.) the topological background needed for the development of convergence, continuity, differentiation and integration is provided in chapter 2. there is a new section on the gamma function, and many new and interesting exercises are included. this text is part of the walter rudin student series in advanced mathematics.

cheaper and it is nice to use. Made me happyarsen-ge2015
This book is pretty good for an advanced course in Real Analysis. It goes over many topics and the layout of the material is coherent. The only problem I have with this book is that the proofs seem to be overly wordy without explaining in detail. I have been able to rewrite many proofs in several lines and more coherently than the author in some cases. I like this book but than my undergrad analysis book, but definitely feel that it has room for improvement. Would not recommend to first time analysis students, but for those who have taken courses in the subject before, the book will certainly help your understanding and knowledge.msustudent2007
9. Seven Steps To Mastering Business Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
Business analysis is the fastest growing field in business today and the role of the business analyst is both strategic and tactical. at the strategic level, the focus is on understanding the needs of the business as a whole, its strategic direction, and identifying initiatives that will enable the business to meet its goals. at the tactical level, the discipline originally emerged from work previously done by project managers, such as gathering high level business requirements, and work done by systems analysts, such as designing functional requirements for software behavior. business analysts are part strategist, part program or project manager, part architect and part systems analyst. they work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, and communicate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. business analysts combine technical and communication skills to improve business by deciphering processes, making realistic, feasible recommendations and facilitating implementation of effective solutions. early works on business analysis suggest that use of specific diagrams, possessing a technical background or being a strong facilitator is what makes a successful business analyst. seven steps to mastering business analysis advances the field by illustrating how all of these factors combined, along with many others, are the key to success. this book gives insight into the ideal skills and characteristics of successful business analysts and provides a foundation of learning for effecting business analysis work. this guide will also help prepare you for business analysis certification by explaining the tasks and knowledge areas in the business analysis body of knowledge (babok). seven steps to mastering business analysis will help build the skill sets of new and experienced analysts, and those currently doing analysis work including project managers, system analysts, product managers and business development professionals. human resource professionals who are working to establish business analysis job descriptions and career paths in their organizations and executives who may have responsibility for managing and evaluating the success of business analysts will also find this book useful.
Reviews:
Seven Steps to Mastering Business Analysis is written by one of the contributing authors of IIBA Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) Guide and Body of Knowledge Committee Member, Barbara A. Carkenord. The book is an absolute must buy for anyone working in a business analyst capacity and ideal for those recently introduced to the industry. Its both interesting and insightful by exploring topics (with real life examples), which have not been covered by the BABOK. It provides a foundation for implementing business analysis at work by exploring concepts of business analysis tasks, strategies and techniques. In the end, its probably one of the few books whereby it can be judged by its cover … "an excellent 'how to' manual to help BAs deliver on the value of business analysts to their organisations'. It also explores the characteristics of a business analyst and explains the differences between a systems analyst, process analyst and business analyst including other position titles involved in business analysis.

14. Real Mathematical Analysis [Book]
Product Details:
Based on an honors course taught by the author at uc berkeley, this introduction to undergraduate real analysis gives a different emphasis by stressing the importance of pictures and hard problems. topics include: a natural construction of the real numbers, four-dimensional visualization, basic point-set topology, function spaces, multivariable calculus via differential forms (leading to a simple proof of the brouwer fixed point theorem), and a pictorial treatment of lebesgue theory. over 150 detailed illustrations elucidate abstract concepts and salient points in proofs. the exposition is informal and relaxed, with many helpful asides, examples, some jokes, and occasional comments from mathematicians, such as littlewood, dieudonné, and osserman. this book thus succeeds in being more comprehensive, more comprehensible, and more enjoyable, than standard introductions to analysis.new to the second edition of real mathematical analysis is a presentation of lebesgue integration done almost entirely using the undergraph approach of burkill. payoffs include: concise picture proofs of the monotone and dominated convergence theorems, a one-line/one-picture proof of fubini's theorem from cavalieri’s principle, and, in many cases, the ability to see an integral result from measure theory. the presentation includes vitali’s covering lemma, density points — which are rarely treated in books at this level — and the almost everywhere differentiability of monotone functions. several new exercises now join a collection of over 500 exercises that pose interesting challenges and introduce special topics to the student keen on mastering this beautiful subject.
