Reviews:
My granddaughter is in third grade and it is the first novel she has studied in school. I thought this would be a good gift to commemorate the first of many to come. It is a beautiful book and she loves it.Nina
My daughter loved this book. She said it had really fascinating details that made the story come alive. She just finished this book last night and wants to read it again and again. Her 5th grade teacher recommended this book to her. As a parent, I like that this book has more substance than those that just cater to simpler subjects. I feel that this book made an impression on her in a positive way-not to knock Captain Underpants series but I like that she has enjoyed something not so silly too. She said she this book is higher on her book rating list than Captain Underpants now. Yay!thedietrichs
My 9 year old granddaughter came home one day and told me she wanted this book. when it arrived she sat down and started reading. she finished that book in about a week reading after school. She wishes it had a sequel.Cheryl

Reviews:
What drew me to this book was the idea of demolishing the arguments not the people, as Christians we are taught to love the person, not the sin. These ladies have done more than just tell you what the “isms” are but give is the tools to use the discernment that we have been given, to work through the different topics that are brought up. The ROAR method that they have created teaches you how to break down the lies and build back up with a biblical foundation, as well as hone your discernment skills through the concept of “chew and spit” that is discussed throughout the book. It’s written in bite-sized chapters (ideal for fitting into that naptime mama break). It made me much more aware of the different influences that have taken root in our society and how they are in our everyday lives more than we realize. I would recommend it to anyone interested in taking a baby steps into apologetics, as a great starting point, as well as reading resources for each chapter to help you dig deeper if you choose, as well as discussion questions at the end of each chapter that would make it good for a group study.Tennisa26
This is a great book to help with parenting and navigating your children through life in the eyes of religion. I got it as part of a book club and thoroughly enjoyed reading it.holly.w
Perfect book for a mom book club, great discussion from it. I love how the writing break things down and explaining it to where a child can understand.Roberts7
15. The Daring Book For Girls [Book]
Product Details:
The daring book for girls is the manual for everything that girls need to know—and that doesn't mean sewing buttonholes! whether it's female heroes in history, secret note-passing skills, science projects, friendship bracelets, double dutch, cats cradle, the perfect cartwheel or the eternal mystery of what boys are thinking, this book has it all. but it's not just a guide to giggling at sleepovers—although that's included, of course! whether readers consider themselves tomboys, girly-girls, or a little bit of both, this book is every girl's invitation to adventure.
Reviews:
"The Daring Book for Girls" is a breath of fresh air. With all the technology, advertising and glitz surrounding a modern childhood, a book which carries within its covers the trade secrets of old-fashioned fun is a marvel for any young girl. How to make a friendship bracelet, how to row a canoe or build a clubhouse, how to care for your softball glove, how to start up a lemonade stand, how to be a spy and famous women spies throughout history. And many more tidbits geared for girls, but not presented in a girly-girl manner. My daughter expressed an interest in this at the library. She will now have her own reference copy for reading at night, under the covers, with a flashlight!satgsaler
If you, or your daughter would love to learn how to make all kinds of things then this book is for you! Learn the ancient technique of folding tshirts, how to make a peach pit ring, basic karate moves, yoga positions, etc. Some people say this book is complicated because the pictures aren't real detailed, and neither are the instructions. But I beg to differ!!! Being patient is key with this book, but you must be patient to learn the different things anyway (with or without the book). All in all it's a fun book to read, and try new things with. Fantastic present for any girl, or woman.tigershep
Awesome book for youth to read and learn from!! Even boys can learn new skills now that Boy Scouts is not helping guide the future men of our world!patrnie-75

Not the best acting, but it jump started both of the young stars careers. I do like that they followed the book extremely well and it is a perfect companion to the book for the 5-6th graders who have to read it for class. It's definitely a sad story but such a great movie. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much watching this movie as a kid, because it's being main actors were young kids, with minimum acting experience at that time.aubrey.v

It gives a very good accounting of what a fifth grader should know. It's not completely the full curriculum, but you can very easily built off of it.alidavi_93
I usually love these books, but would advise purchase the newer edition as I did after getting this one. The new addition has a fine arts section with photos of classic art. This edition does not have that feature. Otherwise, the information in this edition is as good as the newer version.dmar9003
Whether a parent or grandparent, this series of resources is worth obtaining. It has been a wonderful supplement to our educational journey (covering the whole scope of basic knowledge.) My children pick up the Core Knowledge Series voluntarily. This purchase was made because recommendation was made through Hillsdale College’s Online Proper K-12 Classical Education course. I give a four rating for these reasons: (1) Preference of a hardcover copy to this softcover book (2) Although briefly, scientifically accurate, and in good order within the book, note that the 5th Grade book covers (lastly) the Human Reproductive System; which may be too soon for some families. Also note, There is no specific mention of God’s design, but the precise wording and variation in nature implies magnificent design.Alyssa
