Reviews:
As a mental health practitioner, I feel this book was informative, entertaining and not too wordy. He touches on brain development in children and it's affects on adults. This is a book to read to learn more about your adult self along with your child.Kika
Before becoming parents, we took the online quiz associated with this book, and failed, so bought the book. Having watched friends and family raise children, we were able to see how correct some contents of the book were about results later in life. It helped us avoid big mistakes, and changed some of our approaches to parenting. I'd flip back through the book in certain sections when we struggled to figure out where our familiar child went, read what was going on, and adapted accordingly, and the strange bout of tantrums ceased. This is the only "parenting" book I ever read or utilized, and my kids are well beyond the first 5 years now. They are happy, and we get complimented for them, and our parenting, all the time by those we know and strangers alike. This purchase is a gift for a pregnant friend. I highly recommend this book.MaryH
I bought this book as a present for my daughter who had a two month old baby. She can't put it down and is constantly quoting from it. It is valuable reading for anyone who has an interest in child development pre natal to pre school.Jenny

Reviews:
This book is okay for when it was published but it needs editing to improve readability. Firstly the actual text font needs to be larger. There is too much text for the point that is being made too. The cartoons of the scenarios are great and there could be more.Bec the reader
Such a great book, I can not put it down. All the words used are simple and easy to read. Love examples and strategies, they are all useful for parents like us to apply for kids! It's an interesting book!
A very well written, easy to understand explanation of why we think and do things. Focused on the early development of the brain but relevant to understanding the operation of the mind at any age. Very worthwhile reading for anyone especially adults caring for or working with children. Understanding why children do what they do and why they respond the way they do makes it easier to deal with their responses in a manner that benefits both child and carer. You are far more tolerant if you understand why things happen the way they do. A great gift for any caring person; parents, grandparents, teachers, carers, anyone just wanting to learn more about how our brains operate and how to respond to behavioural challenges.Daryl

Reviews:
This book is so fun! It doesn't make noises or pop-up or have any buttons or bells and whistles but it still is so much fun to read to the kids and gets them to participate in book time. We love this book so much!
A wonderful book allowing the readers to have fun while teaching young children to follow directions. I purchased this book from a school book fair one year not realizing how much enjoyment my family would have reading this book. I have never seen my grand children laugh so hard as we sat around the table and enjoyed following the directions inside this book. I can still "see" the reactions the younger ones had when they turned the pages to find out what the result of following the directions given to them revealed. I recommend this book for pure fun and for teaching younger children how to follow directions without teaching them to follow directions. We love to read books and learn something new. This book provided a fun and interactive way to learn the concept of following directions every child needs to learn to follow for everyday life to ready them for their school journey. It has been loaned to others to enjoy as well. We still read this book today after five years receiving the same teary eyes laughs we had from the first reading adventure.laffs54
This book is absolutely perfect for early learners. It is great for receptive language skills and learning simple directions (as well as counting, colors, etc). It also is good for teaching cause and effect. For example, tap the dot 5 times, and then when you flip the page there is 5 times the number of dots. Really just a great interactive teaching book.Liz

Being a new mum i thought i needed some guidance on the whole parenting front. I'd seen a few of the baby whisperers programmes and so i was keen to purchase this book. Flicking through i was dismayed to find that i was apparently doing everything wrong! After spending almost an entire day sobbing about what a failure i was as a mum i actually threw the book in the bin! (First time i have ever thrown a book away!) So a word of advice to anyone thinking of getting this book- Are you sure you really need it? We all have different ways of doing things and what works for one person may not work for someone else. Since ditching the book 80 percent of my worries have sorted themselves out and the other 20 percent? Well, what kind of mother would i be if i wasn't worried about my baby in some way, shape or form? All i'm saying is that The baby whisperer may well be a blooming genius but at the end of the day my baby is 6 weeks old and slowly getting to know her mummy as her mummy is getting to know her. We'll have our ups and downs but we're learning together and thats what matters. Turns out i didn't need someone who'd never seen my babies beautiful smile, or heard the little squeaky chirup noises she makes when she stretches, telling me how to calm, connect or communicate with her. I'd find out myself soon enough.karen8374
With your own mother instincts incorporated with the Baby Whisper Secrets equals pure enjoyment with your new baby right through to toddlerhood. My family is expanding and I wanted a refresher on child care to prepare me to be a grandmother. I was so excited about this book and the common sense that these women teach, that I went and got two more copies for my daughters. They also found the book very down to earth and helpful. The book details how to recognize and attend to the babies' cries and how to help babies sleep all night. It encourages middle of the ground care – no extremes in parenting but just common sense on how to raise a baby. I am eager to purchase the Toddler Whisperer book so I can continue to learn. If I had had a book like this when I was a young mother, I could have been so much more effective and less worried. It would have encouraged me and given me more confidence in how I parented. There is so much practical information on how to nurse the baby (without demanding that you do so – also gives guidelines on bottle feeding), how to listen and respect the baby's personality and spirit. It encourages couples to welcome in the baby to their lives and gives support on how not to feel overwhelmed or run over. I would strongly advise people to purchase this book.hazelruth1

This book is perfect to read to your little one and share all the classic nursery rhymes/stories with them. Great gift too!
I thought I better be sure the music played before giving it to my great grandson. The music book does not work. I cannot find batteries to replace. The book is fine. It is a Christmas gift.Sue
The book has a lot of grammer errors and sentences where not properly constructed. Other than that the book is beautiful, but I don't want to be teaching my boy the wrong things. (only allow to upload 2 pics but theres more)Tee
