Reviews:
I bought this book because I've been playing at the guitar for years. I want to play better and understand what it's all about. So with a great title like this I said great, I'll bite. Well when I do something I do it big. I bought four books. Three of them were by the same guy Marc Schonburn. The book comes with a CD which I think is great. I've looked through them and I like what I see. To tell the truth I just got them and haven't had time yet to really use them. One thing about me, I may not use everything I get right away, but knowing I have them when I am ready is a great feeling. I know you'll really like it if you get it.lost2megene
This is not for beginners,if you are looking for a book like that keep looking. This book has a lot of very good information for those wanting to know about soloing. It gives you detailed info and yet leaves you room for your own style in playing.I havent used the cd so this is on the book alone. If you want to know more about bending, soloing then I would recomend this book.brady7943

I've been playing guitar for 30 years and I bought this as a blues- review book. They should have called this book "Shuffle Blues Soloing" and the Blues-Rock sections should jave been properly labeled "Rockabilly-Blues". There is a lot of good material but not the most comprehensive, and seems to lack some blues styles & articulations, but with maybe a couple of other blues guitar books, an intermediate guitarist can obtain everything needed to confidently play lead blues guitar.homesteadhound

Wunderbarer praktischer Blues-Guide !
If you want to learn how to play authentic 50's Chicago blues rhythm guitar then look no further. This book covers a variety of styles including Muddy Waters , Jimmy Reed , Howlin Wolf , Eddie Taylor etc. Book either comes with a CD so you can listen to the played examples or a code you can download from the website. What I would say is this isn't an absolute beginners book and there are other books more suited to learning the basics. Overall an amazing book and packed with not just tabs but interesting articles and a couple of pics.grahamcann67

12. Blues Guitar From Scratch [Book]

Product Details:
In the first scratch book, there is a smattering of theory here and there, but first things first. this is where youll learn to finger the most common simple chords and to switch back and forth between them in a timely fashion. along the way, it might be nice to see which chords group together in different keys and how to strum and fingerpick these chords using examples from popular music. in the sequel, well look at some guitar vernacular (or common speech), work our way toward incorporating single-note playing into chord playing and then examine techniques for playing single note lines and melodies by themselves, touching on major scales and improvising on pentatonic scales. then well devote some time to learning to read standard music notation for the guitar. it is the universal language of music and even guitarists can benefit from identifying and tracking down notes from the musical alphabet on the fretboard. besides, you wont find a more painless approach than the one ive got worked out. there is not a guitar student on earth who doesnt want to learn some blues. the fourth book starts you off in grand style, with easy licks you can play whether you want to sing or not. and you can also try your hand at playing slide guitar.

Reviews:
More examples required, more practice pieces for Harmonics , slide and other technics. Not easy reading for the beginner. Also title and description as advertised is misleading and insufficient. Book Content is good but not for beginners.t.mosesonline

Reviews:

Reviews:
For the beginner guitarist, blues – rock – whatever, if you learn just ten percent of what is in here, you will be a happy competent player. For the experienced, it is always fun to learn more, and this set has it. The videos are online and navigate / replay easily. Can be seen full screen, and are high quality. Book One is basic but still useful for all, Book Two is scales and theory which I am very weak on so I'll be a while there, Book Three is examples that a play by ear like me got a lot from. Excellent set of 3 books, each with sound clips and full videos, in one package. True, there is plenty of free on the YouTube, and not trying to knock the Tubers, but sometimes ya gets what ya pays for.NexySaloon
Ordered because it said it came with book and DVD but there was no DVD included. Feel ripped off. Will not purchase again!Omalley
